  1. It wouldn't be as simple as you make it sound really, tension in groups would be great and it would take very little to get the group to lynch one of it's own. Families and friends are one thing, but people don't "like" being forced to work together with strangers in general. We built an entire society so everyone know his place and a payment system so we don't have to socialize and suck up more than what is strictly necessary. Without money and a rigid society, think how your life would be if you had to be in your surgeon's "good favors" to have him agree to perform an operation on you. Think of how far you would degrade yourself to have your car repaired. We do not necessarly have something of value to offer to others. And even if we do, others can just force you to offer it without counterpart.
  2. Yes but this is DayZ , what"they" want doesn't really matter, you're not supposed to just be able to "substract" yourself from situations you aren't interested to participate in.
  3. Yeah that's called a double standard, and it's extremely common really. Most people don't hold others to the same rules as they hold themselve to.
  4. Report button: Nah, this is not DOTA, and to who? To the devs? The bloke who rent the server? The devs have better things to do and the guy renting the server doesn't need more power. Combat logging: Well your story pretty much prove that 30 seconds to log out is nowhere near long enough. But i've been saying this for a while now. Server hopping: That's a given, having multiple servers is all about load balancing to me, it's not so you can just hop around. You should not be able to play on a different server after you joined one for ... well lets say 30 minutes? Server hopping for loot is pretty much frowned upon and so is hopping to teleport behind enemies sooo. This is like war really, there is no fair, it's only about winning. The best the DayZ team can do is to make the action of logging in/out harder to use as an advantage.

our map isnt "small" its not "balanced"

Well they COULD remove sprinting :) How bigger would it be then?

Why is der a F****** hide body function!?!?!

Strangely I'm fine with that, it's not like you deserve anything in this game.

    DirectX 11 rendering.

Yes but how many people at blizzard work on WoW? Yes there is a potential for free FPS for you, but that means maintaining two distinct rendering paths and potentially gutting sizeable chunks of the rendering code. Companies are usually not keep to poke at this kind of things, especially when the existing code "works just fine". It's not as simple as looking up every instances of DX9 calls and replacing them with the equivalent DX11 call, that would not net you any performance gain. If it was me i would have them ditch DirectX for OpenGL but that's opening another can of worm.

Thoughts on a small change to logout timer

That's because the logout timer is way too short as it is.

    DirectX 11 rendering.

The real question would be "what for?", they would have to support both DX9 and DX11 instruction sets if they don't want to make the game DX11 only. The thing is, they aren't the only devs not bothering with DX11 yet. It's just not worth it unless you absolutely need a specific feature.

Thoughts on a small change to logout timer

But that's the point. You have to log out in a safe place.
  11. Getting your death cause on your death screen (without too many details) sure. Getting a killcam? no.

    Multi-function Stance Key

Exactly, we don't. it's nice for a military shooter like A3. But for DayZ? Would be a "nice to have" but hardly more than that.
  13. Lady Kyrah

    Being killed,with no explanation ?

Dare i say it could be nice if the "you are dead" screen included basic infos on how you died: "You died from a loss of blood" "You fell to your death" "You starved to death" "You died of thirst" It might not be of much use for the veteran player, but it could still be used by beginners to learn from their mistakes. Also let you know why you just died for "no apparent reason". Wasn't there a quote from some movie that if a bullet hit the base of your spine you're dead before your nervous system can report that you've been hit or something?

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

Are you guys done with the smack talk yet or do you need more time?
  15. Lady Kyrah

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

That's called "the path of least resistance".
  16. That's not how it work. the game isn't released yet, they don't need to even have it in a playable state, as long as they keep moving forward.
  17. Lady Kyrah

How would you like to see loot respawning done?

You're missing the option "hive issued respawn that follows a highly randomized algorithm".
  18. Lady Kyrah

    Morale

I could see more something where morale is related to mental and physical "comfort". Good varied food, not too tired, not too much in pain.

    Experience: The CCP Way

And here i thought that the sole reason for CCP's leveling system was to sell monthly cubscriptions and PLEX *rolleyes*

what should i do? My fiend is evil

Just tell him the next time he shoot someone, you shoot him.
  21. I'm sorry but when i browse the suggestion forum, and this one in general. It appears that the people who play this game approach it like a 12 year old's power fantasy. Looting what you can use is a first step in survival, that's a stopgap measure to give you time to prepare for what's coming to you in the next days (and maybe for the rest of your adult life). As a survivor, if you have a gun, you cherish every single bullet you have because it's very unlikely you will find any spare once you shoot these, and an easily killed boar might give you lunch today, but that bullet might be the one you will miss tomorrow to defend yourself. Sure, you can always reload bullets, but how are you going to do this? Reloading powder and tools aren't exactly commonplace and modern guns don't really like homemade black powder. Food wise, once you secured a few cans of food your number one priority should be to avoid using them and find alternative sources, foraging, (provided you know what you're doing and won't poison yourself) and hunting, which brings the issue of avoiding to use your gun for this because your gun should be for your personal protection. And then there is heating. Most people don't realize but nights are cold in europe when there is nothing to give off heat around us, no people, no cars, no electricity, that's why animals have fur after all. So firewood should be the number one priority before sundown because you can be hungry and thirsty for a day, but hypothermia is lethal. Which makes me wonder about the loot situation. Maybe that's what the dayZ devs want to do with their "loot not re-spawning"? On server restart you get first dib on scavenging but then you're on your own. With regular server resets, there is no shortage of guns and bullets, those things essentially have no more value than a can of dog food, it's plentiful, it won't run out, you just have to be careful and with a bit of luck, it will come to you.
  22. This is the suggestion forum, not the "please do not do this" forum. Everyone has a right to expose his ideas.

    Real talk (game manual)

I hope reasonable measures will be taken to send data miners home empty handed. I'm getting tired of this trend to wikifying every game out there. They spoil their own enjoyment of the game by boiling it down to it's bare mechanics (which is silly in a game ment to be played as an experience). And spoil everyone's discovery in the process :)
