Hey all, I put hundreds of hours into the Arma mod and bought the single player at launch but found it too buggy for me to play personally. I understand it's Alpha of course so am not here to complain. I recently had another look in game and it didn't seem to matter which server I went to (I tried probably about ten), I seemed to have the same problems on each one. Namely: * No to very low loot spawning. * Zombie chase noises randomly and regularly with no zombies anywhere near me. * Very, very few zombies anywhere. I mean perhaps one in a whole town and when it saw me it didn't move. I finally got a zombie to chase me and it seemed to be lagging and juddering rather than chasing me. * I couldn't get my crowbar/wrench to swing in an attack to save my life. This may have been me missing something obvious. Just all in all, it felt very much the same as when I bought is 6 months ago. I would put this down to it just being alpha, but I've seen people streaming it on twitch with minimal apparent issues. So I thought I'd come and ask if there' something I'm doing (wrong version etc..??) or if this is just how things are right now.

I'm 29, have a wife and three kids and a business to run. I spend my entire time in DayZ fulfilling the goal of hunting and killing other players. A want to PvP isn't immature. Crying when you get owned in a game you're bad at and can't adapt to is however.

I'm going to be totally honest and say that we have a server and have only one vehicle on the thing. We have a camp site (which we think is actually compromised) and one jeep. We don't hoard stuff and actually spend a lot of time trying to work out where the fuck these things are stashed. Everyone presumes server admins rape servers, but if others are anything like us and have no experience of Arma prior to DayZ you overestimate us. LU45 (GMT-6) - Prestige Worldwide FYI.

I don't want to put up a huge post regarding this subject, but I just wanted to say this. I understand that respawning over and over puts strain on servers and so a solution has to be found. However, I and everyone else I know who plays DayZ play it with others and every single one of them is just trying to die as soon as possible to get a better respawn so we can play together. I feel I could confidently assume the overwhelming majority of players are also doing the same. People with limited gaming time want to be able to spend time with friends and will always do whatever they can to bypass this mechanism. For this reason, I think a system allowing you to choose a spawn (obviously carefully selected locations by Devs) but also allowing the players who want to play a more hardcore version an option to spawn randomly is necessary. My 2 cents.

I presume you've never tested a pre-release game then? What do you in Alpha and beta is provide feedback on changes after testing, you don't "suck it up and keep quiet.

Anyone who thinks this game has sold the hundreds of thousands of copies it has recently because people want to crawl on their bellies scavenging from zombies is wrong, wrong, wrong. DayZ has some of the most exhilarating PvP ever created. There is only one other game you can look at to measure success when it comes to this open PvP ruleset and that's Eve and that's doing just fine.. The overwhelming population want to shoot each other, almost all the time. If the game went back to the bandit skin now, people would still be shooting everyone.

Every time I see someone say it has no "End Game" I'm sick a little bit in my mouth. MAKE YOUR OWN END GAME!!!! I've had every item this game has to offer and I'm still having a fucking blast.

You're so cute. :) No, but seriously.. roam the map from left to right in line with Stary Sobor (be careful around there) and northwards. Look out for helicopter crashes in fields. Kill the Z's and you'll fine really good weaponry on the floor. FN-FAL's, Barret 50 Cal Sniper rifles, DMR sniper rifles and other weapons along with Night vision goggles and ghillie suits. These are all possible drops at these sites. Forget the airfield. It has a .24% chance of dropping guns like M24's and M14's and the risk vs reward ratio is unbalanced. A Lee Enfield by contrast is trash loot and to be honest, is just less fun even if you're just going to take out zombies. Everyone set's their own goals in the game though, so whether or not you'll want this loot is subjective. We have a camp in the woods and like to roam looks for crashes to stash loot. We then just PvP inland. Good times. Good luck mate.
