Possible admin abuse on server US198
Charlizard replied to dancalx's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Ahhh, I was hoping for this condescending response. I think a quote from Ander is need here. "2. Negative, although this is considered an exploit it carries the risk of being applied too widely since it's very hard to police and verify we dont do this at the moment. A solution to this will probably make it in at a later time. I have myself gotten kicked/banned on occasions when entering a server and the server admin was way too paranoid about new players joining in. Updated 17th July: Please file a ticket to support.dayzmod.com with your evidence about people who DC to avoid death. This should preferably be accompanied by playerlogs, timestamp." His response in this forum. http://dayzmod.com/f...-able-offenses/ Ghosting is an exploit, just like combat logging. Send your evidence to the DayZ staff and let them ban them. And a response to "I'm fairly sure that if you had been banned by an admin it wouldn't say "Battle eye banned" I've seen someone "Battle eye banned" and the explanation for the ban was "smells." I don't think that is an explanation battle eye would give. Also, if he was battle eye banned, it would be global. -
I like it. It hasn't been deathmatch central for me. Hell, when I play deathmatch games I sometimes group up with members of the other team for some shenanigans.

Possible admin abuse on server US198
Charlizard replied to dancalx's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Well, Bambi. I'm pretty sure the only evidence he needs is a screenshot of his ban. Because I am 123% sure ghosting isn't a bannable offence. -
Did you know that 95% of statistics and numbers are pulled out of someones ass? Also, correct me if I'm wrong, isn't 50,000 players daily good for a mod?

DE 326 / =SaAR= - Restarted - Banned - Locked after killing admin camp

Open a ticket and report the server, if you haven't already. -
I agree, the real reason you shutdown the server when you all are offline, in my eyes, is you are afraid your tents will be looted when none of your members are online.
-
If you were banned from the server it would of just said "You were banned" or something like that. Looks to me like Battleye banned you.

Surprised no one has given you a straight answer yet. If his body sunk into the floor after killed, then he ALT + F4'd. Plain and simple. -

Pretty sure I spawn on the coast for servers that don't "need" maintenance. So if you spend 5+ hours trying to get that to work, you will be a sad panda. -

Most of it, but like Zoop said, I have seen other servers with the time messed up. You can't really tell if the time is fixed without being in-game, and if its not fixed you will restart the server on other players if it's not locked. -

Also, just FYI, I am on hold with DayZhosting.com to get a DayZ server. I plan to tell people when and if I do anything with the server. -

So making a post on the forums that you're locking your server is difficult? It shouldn't take more than a minute and, if you say what you are doing, maybe the people won't try to burn you. -

Considering I've seen multiple servers locked for 5+ hours and then even kicking people from the game when the server is unlocked, for most servers is a yes. I honestly think all servers should make a post in the server forums saying why their server is locked and how long it will be locked. If they don't make the post then they get blacklisted. I think that sounds fair. -

You first say that we should contact the admins so the "woes are sorted out." However, you then dignify admins locking servers because of hackers, server jumping, and douchebaggery, even though that is against the TOS they agreed to. Makes sense. -

Chazzy, yeah it would be totally fair for server owners to lock their servers. Then they can get their own gear without risk of dying and go onto open servers and kill others. Totally fair. Imo, DayZ should allow people to make private servers not connected to HIVE. But while connected to HIVE, these servers should not be locked. -

Admin kicking/ banning everyone but 5 people us 175
Charlizard replied to gerow1337@hotmail.com's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Maintenance takes 5+ hours? And the admin himself posted that he was kicking people because "Sorry, we always make sure the new updates work before we let people in. Think of it as a courtesy. That way we can roll it back if we have too." There is no excuse for this, servers like this deserved to be blacklisted. -

The TOS are very specific. I will quote the DayZ server rules. BEWARE - The same restrictions apply to Non-Dev run servers! - IT MAY NEVER BE PASSWORDED - NO OTHER KEYS OR MODS. NONE. PERIOD. - NO KICKING TO MAKE ROOM FOR 'FRIENDS' OR CLANMATES - NO LOCKING THE SERVER - NO EDITING DAYZ/MISSION FILES - IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO UPDATE YOUR SERVER TO THE LATEST VERSION OF DAYZ -BATTLEYE MUST BE ENABLED - Minimum slot count of 40 (30 for countries where bandwidth is expensive i.e. developing countries) - Their are only two reasons why you, as a server owner, should ban a player on your server. Those two reasons are: Malicious talk, and racism. You may not ban a user for stealing your loot, killing you, spying on you, etc. - You may only kick for disruptive behavior (such as continued VOIP over side channel). But you may not kick due to race or language or because the person does something you do not like. - Kicking for extremely excessive ping or desync is permitted, but if abused is grounds for blacklisting You violate the TOS, you're going to lose your server. Don't be a dumbass and play by the rules.
