Yo, it seems pretty dumb to me that broken bones are both incurable with anything short of morphine and incredibly debilitating. I'm sure by now every DayZ vet has a dozen stories of a small group of zombies breaking a limb and left stranded in some remote village. Considering how morphine spawns so rarely outside of hospitals, this often means a character death. In addition, the removal of side/global chat means you can't even call for help. To be clear, I like the this mechanic. It makes zombies much more threatening, prohibits you from running away from a fight, and punishes the player for a bad/desperate decision (i.e. jumping 15 ft off a ladder to avoid getting shot). However, given how easy it is to get crippled, it makes little sense that it be so difficult to cure. I propose that players be allowed to craft/find a splint to set the leg and heal the bone within a few minutes. It could be made from common materials (wood+bandage) or at least found much more commonly than morphine. If this sounds like too easy an option, perhaps it could only be made at a campfire. The idea is that it won't provide an instant fix like morphine but will still give the player an option besides dieing or spending 3 hours crawling to the closest hospital. I hope its possible to implement a change such as this and I really believe it would provide more depth to the gameplay without diminishing the 'realism' of the zombie apocolypse or survival challenge.
