What was the wether like? raining? Ive been able to walk right by them when its raining, rub shoulders almost. Then there is that one zombie that aggros from over the other side of the field when you have 1 bar up on both sight and sound so exepct anything in between really.

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone understands the bullet physics on this game? Do the weapons suffer from bullet drop as in RL? How far can you really shoot with a pistol compared to a rifle or sniper rifle? I'm sure its not a case of "If you can see it, you can shoot it" But it would be nice to understand when compensation for a well placed shot. Cheers guys!

Still doesn't change the fact it's rubbish, under powered guns, how life like.....why don't they just take out every gun in the game and give you an air rifle...oh wait, they just did.....

I'd say the flamers come out because we all felt the sting of the learning curve. HOWEVER we didn't come onto the forum and have a sook about it, we sacked up and learned to play. I'm sure nearly half a million people can't ALL be wrong can we? I'm just sad I spent twice as much on Diablo 3 which I played for 3 weeks then uninstalled because it WAS rubbish, now there I can understand hitting the forums about a game that ins't fun.... Most expensive drink coaster I've ever bought, OK except for SWTOR and Crysis 2 I'm glad I stumbled upon an episode of Good Game and seen the spot they had on DayZ.

Alt+f4, It's painfully annoying for the soul reason we get screwed for loot. If you cap another player and they alt+f4 so they are reloaded alive before the point they are shot why not make the server save there state as soon as the player is dead? I've seen it a few times now, I shoot a player they go down but then alt+f4 out, no doubt to be resurrected alive on another server and off they go. Of coarse this doesn't stop people from d/c'ing before death but what you gunna do? It's perma death, we fear it so if we can avoid it we will. It would be nice for a killed body to stay and be lootable though.

I'm wondering if this game takes advantage of physx? I have noticed my CPU under more load that usual compared to newer games. I have a i5 2600 with 2 gtx 285 in SLI and I find the game ok till I look through binocs. Only then do I find it drop under 25 FPS for a second then it pops back up to 60+

I'm having the same issue, haven't seen a weapon in 3 days of play.... I launch my game through the six launcher and usually only play on the listed servers that are up to date so i really dont know what's going on here.

WOW, So I was totally unaware that I needed a degree In physics and ballistics to play this game not to mention the complete understanding of the realness the ARMA series was so clearly based upon. Again my apologies for being such an ignorant player. It was a simple question which asked for a simple answer, not a break down of the physics surrounding the RL parameters of firing a bullet through earth's atmosphere. What was I thinking, asking a question like that amongst what seems to be every gun toting, military personals passion in their spare time, so for those of you that like to speak down those that don't own or understand this sort of thing, please get over your self! So, yes as Wufnu said, I to didn't care for the realism of the game either, I purchased for a fun, different game Idea, I just wanted to know for when I line something up in a sniper rifle I don't waste 20 rounds and wonder why I cant hit anything.

Hi guys, Not sure if this is the right area to post, not sure if this is a bug or just me. Last night I was on Seattle 111 (I think) and I played for about 3 hours. Usually I can find some sort of item, ammo, food, drink, weapon bla bla bla. But last night nothing, just tin cans and empty bottles. The server was fairly empty, about 12-16 players and there was nothing any where. I ran from Balota all the way to Electro then ran inland to the barns and farms, nothing. I also noticed most of the zombies where up on roof tops and glitching from the roof to the ground. This all happened after the latest update came down via Six Launcher. Needless to say I died due to hunger and thirst. Is anyone else seeing anything like this or is it a sync issue on my end? I did try a few servers last night and they all seemed to be the same. Please forgive me if I've missed a post about current bugs and issues. Cheers

I don't see the reason to implement a "Punishment" system for killing another player, its a moral choice in the game. I did like the fact that you look like a bandit if you where one but now that fun part is gone so I don't know. I guess PVP will just run rampart in the game, kill everyone you see or be killed. The only way you would slow it down is taking out the aspect that you loose all the gear you have collected, lets face it, that's why we are killing, to get more beans and Pepsi! And to stop that other guy from getting the beans and Pepsi you don't have!

I'm not sure if this will help but from what I've read you can loosely compare a gtx 560 to a gtx285. Yes there are differences and yes the 560 does run dx11 BUT as far as pound for pound grunt goes they are about the same. I run 2 gtx 285 FTW's in SLI but when I had one I benched my machine which performed very similar to my mates machine who's I built to the same spec as mine except with the 560ti. IMO I wouldn't buy a 550 when a 560 is already fairly cheap (around the $350 mark) I wife's PC which I put a 580 into craps on my 285's, but all of this is just what I've seen, nothing on paper, hope it helps. Hi all, I've only been playing a few days and I've notice several videos on youtube were players are in army forest and desert camo. How to you change your skin like this? Is it a pick up or was it something else in the game? I am aware bandit skins have been removed but I'm more interested in something other than a blue vest, jeans and a cap... Cheers guys, Live on!

I can still hear the gunshots! The faint smell of gunpowder on the breeze, I wonder how those guys did down at the church last night? I would have watched more of the fight through my binoculars but I was so tired I passed out. I can see a lot of bodies, nothing looks like a survivor, maybe they got away, I could have helped, I could have made friends, I could have been killed! God, it’s so hard to decide what to do, so many moral decisions to make with my own self preservation as my only key stone! I need food! Time to move down and pick at the scraps of what’s left, not like I deserve to eat like a king after hiding here while those other guys fight for their meal.....I can’t see anything moving, might be safe. Beans and sardines! I’m so lucky I eat for free and I get to save my ammo for another day. I’m yet to let this .45 off, It’s going to happen tho, some zombie or angry person is going to get in my way and I’ll have no choice but to unload it into their head, these hollow tips will make it a one hit kill I’m sure. Oh, a Pepsi, might take that to, never know when I might need a room temperature carbonated beverage. Time to move on now, I hear yet more gun fire, I’m not interested in being caught in that, I remember a small farm just North of here, I think there was a barn to, fingers crossed I find a rifle of some sort.... So here I am, I can see the barn, I also see what looks to be a person, dressed in black up in the top level....He’s got a gun, I can see the barrel shining in the sun. I see an old rifle lying on the ground with ammo inside the barn....And a drinking canteen! I need that so much more than a gun! I’ve decided to approach the barn from the North, this so called Bandit can’t see me from here, It’s almost as if he wasn’t thinking about his 6. I’ve decided to kill this guy, I can’t believe I’m contemplating this but I have no choice, I don’t have anything to drink and he’s watching that gear I NEED. This gun, this shiny colt .45, a King Cobra I think it is, it’s so heavy now that I actually have to use it, feels like I’m swinging around a brick on a string! .......I did it, I shot him, I’ve killed a man! One shot to the back of the head, he didn’t even see me coming....God the blood....I’ve watched movies of people being shot but I was not ready for this...I keep finding little bits of bone and things, I wasn’t even close to him, It just, it just showered me with red and brain! The gun, It just went off, so unexpected, so final! I keep telling myself that he would have done the same, he would have shot me! Why is this so hard to justify! I’ve painted some of his blood on the canteen I also put the necklace he was wearing around it as a tribute, it’s the least I can do. ......

I've only been playing for two days, first day was just dying and more dying. I have notice now I'm living longer because I'm thinking about what I'm doing not just running about like a ball sack. It's called LEARNING, which I for one love! I'm so glad this is not another spoon feed, point driven pile of rubbish that's out there now. This game in in no way "UNPLAYABLE" It's just the case of now YOU are playing not being spoon fed your guns and ammo. AWESOME job, best game I've played since HALF LIFE 2.
