I was actually thinking the other day that some one would eventually continue developing this mod, since Rocket is busy with the stand-alone. And today, I see this beautiful thread! So far everything looks great, but like someone said before: the CZ should be in the loot table. I also feel like the L85 should be removed. It's pretty much a 2-3 shot sniper rifle (1-shot if you're good enough to hit the head, or if you want a sure kill, hit a leg and finish him off while he's crawling for his life) I'd have no problems with it if it only had the NV scope though. It's the thermal scope that sucks. I personally dont play with it any more because equipped with rangefinders there is nothing that could possibly stop you, and it pretty much removes all the fears you have about someone creeping up on you. Tactics wont matter, because the person wielding the L85 will always know your coming, and shoot you down from the other side of the evergreen forest. Of course I'm not talking about urban combat here, but anyone running into a city solo with an L85 is either a moron or just kickass with the crosshair. I fully support what you're doing here though and I will most definately be playing on this server once it's ready! Thank you!!

Windows 7 home premium Intel Core i7 @ 3.07Ghz 12GB RAM GTX580 Still playable. Getting 20-30 FPS in major cities, 40-60 in the woods with the occasional lag spike. But it used to be aloot better. It seems to have gotten worse and worse with the latest beta updates. Anyone got an idea of what my FPS should be at? I havent played any game yet with this PC thats given me lag on high/ultra settings

I was playing happily a few hours ago, then all of a sudden, the servers stop working (stuck at loading, waiting for host, battle eye initialization failed even after manual update) Then I read somewhere that the newest beta was broken, so I went to roll back to the older version. When I updated it told me during the installer that I had a "bad CD key", but it updated none the less. I go to open up the beta, and WTF? It boots up normal arma2. Even with six launcher, and I manage to actually get into the lobby of a server. Then I got stuck at loading. Currently reinstalling OA, but... Has anyone else had the same problem?

I'm typing this here, hoping you'll see it, I guess. I've spent so long looking for a good server, and countless hours building a camp on that server, your server. I believe me and my friends have spent more than 70 hours together on your server, building an arsenal and maintaining our camp. As we were playing today, the server restarted, and it appears as though you've set the max ping at 200 or less.. So we can no longer play on your server. Our stuff is just sitting there, and we cannot get to it. You seem like a great admin from what I've seen so far, just hoping you might be willing to raise it a little bit, to maybe 250 or even 300. Does 200 ping strain the server that much?

Thank you very much guys, I really appreciate you taking us into consideration atleast. I just joined in, and my ping was at 210 actually. I got kicked a little later, with the error saying I had 249 ping. I usually play on US servers myself, even though I'm from Europe. Most of the servers seem to run much smoother when it comes to fps lag. The higher ping never bothered me in this game/mod, never had rubberbanding either really (Unless you mean other players might see us rubberbanding?)

I've got my camp set up in this server, but zombies/loot hasnt been working since the last restart for me or my friends.. Any admin around to restart, or any regulars that know when the next auto restart is due? Been like 6 hours or so now, I think. Thanks.

Download and install Six Updater http://www.six-updater.net/p/download.html Once it's installed and updated, press the icon on your desktop called six launcher it will open a dayz server browser. Press ONCE on any of the servers running version 1.7.1.5 (you can see this in the server name) then press the verify/update button on the left. Let it download and finish, then press join. The masterservers are down at the moment though, so dont expect to get any further than the lobby.

If you're using steam it would be in your steam directory yes. It's in the same folder as the normal OA exe

Right click on the beta patch .exe, go to properties, and under the "shortcut" tab, go to the end of the command line and make sure theres nothing there called -windowmode or something like that. Removing that worked for me.

No, you do not need to use steam to run the game, but if you are, you would have to install it on another harddrive on the PC. Then purchase another copy of arma on your family members steam account, and install it to that harddrive. I wanted my brother to try this game before he got his PC, we tried simply making a new steam account for him, but we ended up with a bunch of problems. Characters were switching constatly between his and mine and you had to update the mod/verify integrity of game cache constantly, or you would be greeted with an error saying " Bad CD-key given during setup" and you'd have to reinstall the game. If you can find a way to manually delete and re-apply the new CD key, then that might work too. Me, I have no idea. My brother is happily playing on his own PC now, so I havent bothered. DayZ support themselves told me this, so it is not against the rules having 2 characters on one PC. I dont know how it is for 1 player to have 2 characters though. I think it's just if you got a family member/friend without they're own PC.

Hello :) I have some trouble with the mod. Or perhaps it's not the mod at all, that's what I'm trying to figure out. I love this mod, and my brother has bought a new pc just to be able to play it. The pc is due in 2 days, but he just couldnt wait, So we made him a steam account on my pc, and purchased another copy of arma for him. Everything went fine and he played for hours, but when I logged into my steam to get my character, all I got was his :( I thought the characters was somehow connected to the cdkey. So the question is, is my character lost? And will we be able to have 1 character each once he gets his PC, if we are playing on the same network? Running v1.7.1.5 atm with the beta. Thanks.

My brother got his PC and unfortunately we are still having problems. Most likely due to what we did earlier when we tried to have both our characters on the same PC. Before I continue I got to say that I realize that this issue has nothing to do with the DayZ mod. But I'm hoping that someone else here might have had the same issue, and know how to solve this. Everything went well to begin with, we played for a few hours with no problems, with the exception that our characters was switched. His character was saved on my PC, while my character was saved on his PC. So we had basically swapped characters. Today, when we tried to get in, we first encountered a little glitch. When we joined a server, the person who joined last would get instantly kicked. But when we joined different servers, we found that we were both playing the same characters. Like we were playing on the same CD key. My brother turned his game off, because he thought it was some sort of glitch, but now when he tries to start the game up, it gives him an error saying "Bad serial given during setup" and the game is terminated. I have tried reinstalling twice, but it doesnt seem to help one bit. Is it possible to somehow delete the key from the registry so it's placed back in properly after I re-installed the game? I'm running windows 7 at the moment.

Yes they do spawn like crazy, that is true. Their spawn rate should be lowered. I found 7 wires and 8 tank traps yesterday aswell :rolleyes:

I dont see why you hate the wire fences. Use a toolbox like everyone else and take them down instead of spending hours hopping servers. 4 toolboxes spawned for me inside the east factory yesterday, and I keep finding them in almost every shed/factory building. They are about as common as hatchets are atm. You can also V over them. I hear people saying they die from it, but I never have. Unless it's something new in 1.7.1.5.

No he got a fresh character and spawned at kamenka I think. Do I have to change the key manually somewhere in-game perhaps? I noticed he also had the same in-game name as me.
