Bad luck, wipes and hackers in DayZ

I think we can all agree that you are going to die and you are going to lose your gear. Its a given. That's part of the fun. You KNOW you are going to die, and trying to hold out and ration food and bullets and supplies makes it exciting. The fact that you can lose it makes finding gear that much more worthwhile. That being said, the whole point of an alpha and beta stage of testing is to test the game/code. If I were programming this I would want to know what happened with as much info as possible. I wouldn't want to build and add code on top of whatever exploit they use to ruin the game and then have to tear down a lot of code trying to fix it later. The point of an alpha isn't to simply 'add stuff' and then fix it in the beta. That's asking for more problems down the line. Yes you are adding more in the alpha, but that's because its in the early stages of the game. I would love some interesting new gear and gadgets and things to make it a richer game, but if I cant even make my way and build up to a point where I can find them because someone nukes the server it defeats the entire point. The point of calling it an alpha is to say its going to be shaky code and this does not fully represent the final product. Projects usually go into beta when its a more stable, more finished product, not because its 'now time to fix any and all bugs' (though more bugfixes will occur here simply because thats what you do when you finish up). In short the whole point of this thread was to point out an issue, let the devs know whats going on, and gauge thoughts on the matter with possible solutions. Not "Man I sure hate dying and losing gear!"
