That would be the intention of it. I suppose this could also server as a warning to be more careful in Cherno, especially when you are packing heat that you need to find off crashes, and stuff that has lower than .30% drop chance. I'm thinking the guy is either dumb or had nothing to lose somehow.

bump, this happened to me as well, except it was combined with a teleportation glitch that moved me into the sky when i logged back in after dinner, fell and died, lost some really good shit including NVG...ran back to my corpse as my friend was watching it, he couldn't loot my gear off and then before I even got there it poofed, wasn't even more than 2-3 minutes...

The fall killed me and I lost all of my stuff as even though my friend found my corpse it was not able to be looted and disappeared about 30 seconds after he found it. I lost a reasonable amount of gear too, especially NVG, is there any way to restore my character? All of this happed about 7pm-8pm Central Standard time

just killed a sniper and stole nvg off his corpse, next game i logged into i fell from the sky and died. is there way to appeal this and get my gear back?
