It's an 'issue' and will probably be fixed some time in the future which might or might not be any time soon. Regarding your rant's topic, when that happens to me I conclude that I deserved it. I mean when i'm sniping people like a pussy while they have no chance to retaliate (ohko) and most of the time no chance to even react and i get ghosted then I feel like I deserved it. The problem is that DayZ is in alpha-but-not-alpha testing phase. Everyone gives and has a mixed opinion of in what state it is and some maybe compare to a previous alpha testing they've done. Others who have no experience just roll in and play the game, conclude it feels pretty god damn finished, every game nowadays is riddled with bugs anyway. Then of course the utterly insane point of global bans on a mod of a supposed alpha mod. 1 million alpha testers? Had they just gotten a few thousand to test the game the hacking would have been minimal if even any and would have had time to finish all the cool new features before having to battle with the hordes of 10 thousand hackers. Not my game though so not my issues..

Found some vss vintorez mags from a tent earlier and just had to ask if by chance anyone knows if it's a legit spawn? I saw a sniper vid where they mentioned it as default, but haven't seen anything about it. Legit and can be found or not? Thankieess

It's like in real life. When you are finding bad loot from shop, you just initiate the exit sequence and change to different dimension. I thought that was common knowledge.

I have a few tents in NL114 and it seems like after server restart they disappeared, I did remember to save all and everything so that should not be the issue and i read that it happens from time to time. Server restart of some kind apparently gets all the stuff back though. So how would I go by trying to contact an admin for NL114 or any server? Thanks for the help!

I do not understand how it works. The times I try to be coolbeans and approach a player to reach the 80m for direct comm so I can talk to them, I get shot. Time after time and then again. I really do not want to kill on sight but what other options do I have if I don't want to start a new character 3 times per playing session. Tips & tricks & bla & bla please.

Those who don't shoot on sight risk being spotted back at a point when you won't be aware of it and losing the momentum putting yourself in a major disadvantage making yourself even more likely to get shot. If that person for any possible reason would want anything from you then you are dead. So the solution to unsuccessful approaches would be to create a formula which considers all the variables and then through science would create the most non-hostile situation as possible. Too tired for that tho.

It gets boring while playing alone for weeks. Then again be bored or be dead, like in RL. Day Z is too realistic :/

1 minute timer would be good. The rare times that people don't alt+f4, the battles take a slow crawl after the first shot. So 30 second timer would be a joke. Best would be a in-combat detection putting the timer at 5 mins or more and if combat state ends the timer goes to normal 30 secs.

It's a bad idea. The purpose and the "cool" of the system isn't the system itself. Not even the purpose of the system is cool as it would cater to one side of the player base and almost completely would destroy solo gaming. Once you come up with something that's cool alone and also solves the player killing then kewlbeans.

The flaw in your system is that it creates impairing effects for actions that do not have impairing effects in the equivalent situation in real life. If as a serial killer I kill a person, I'd get a buzz off of it. If as a battle hardened sniper I get my 100th kill, I probably wouldn't feel a thing yet still I'd be one of the most aware person in that battle (no impairments to be found). The effects you described are highly situational and couldn't be applied as is without an intense psychological evaluation test of the player before starting your game. Too many variables and well, you have to face it, vast majority of people are sane. Even if opportunistic and cowards, they still are as sane as they come.

we'll be putting in some serious hardware for 1ms resonse time, everything in gold, etc. so we expect to release by the time DayZ will be released. Price estimation 60€ like most popular keyboards but it does offer a handy approach to a crucial part of the game so the price tag is justified.

Had plenty of unlucky things happen but they all were caused either by my mistakes or then just not being cautious enough (crawling only 30 mins in row except of supposed always) so what happened couple mins ago is the unluckiest thing for me. I get home from work, start Arma 2, logon to the server I have my tents at and find them all either destroyed or completely looted. Ok, I can handle that np, I still had my own gear on me including every tool in the game (nvgs, rangefinder...) and a CZ 550, no idea why I equipped that before logging out. I cry a little inside while watching the wreckage and all the work gone to waste. Then I notice smoke on a distant mountain, remember there was a broken car around there so I check the area and I see 5 people, stacked with weapons from my tents. Alrighty, ponder for a bit and conclude I'll rain hell on them. I move into position, wait for a good moment and open fire. POP, 3 of them dc almost instantly. I still land a hit on each non dcer and then finish them off with follow ups. I wait for a bit, then head to get what's mine. All nice, got my excess maps, dropped cz for DMR and packed M107 and M4a1 SD to backpack. Who knows when the dcers might come back so I go back to my tents to pack them and move them and while doing that I start getting uber bad fps lag. So I abort, restart arma and rejoin server. When I pop back in, I'm where I shot the 2 people. The dcers are back too, nicely in a triangle around me. They were busy doing stuff so I try to shoot. No weapon. Quickly roll mmb and still no weapon. G to check gear and dmr is there, it magically appears in my hand and I go off of gear to fire quickly before they notice and ofc one of them just goes full on fire with my saw and off I die. The first time I was actually pissed off when I died. Still am, but shit happens. I wish I had the same whimp reflexes for ALT+F4 though :/
