My suggestion here is to revise and improve the ammunition system currently employed in the game. There are ways to do this that are very simple and will improve the game immensely, but obviously getting the ammunition system completely perfect would take a lot of work (and may not even be possible). Here's what's wrong with the way it currently works: You pick up a DMR mag (20 rounds of 7.62x51mm Nato). This can ONLY be used in the DMR, despite that other Battle Rifles (FN FAL, for example) would feed the same ammunition at the same capacity (20x 7.62x51mm.) Obviously if the system were to be perfect you'd be able to feed your ammunition into the M24 SWS as well as the other 7.62mm Rifles. However, for now, what *can* be done is to make the same capacity of ammunition work for any gun with magazines of that size (example: change DMR Mags into 20x 7.62mm Match and be able to be fed into any 20x 7.62mm Battle Rifle, and then make FN FAL Mags into 20x 7.62mm Ball and make them able to be fed into any 20x7.62mm Battle Rifle.) Essentially this would offer weapons of the same caliber, and having the same magazine capacity, to use the same mags. Additionally to this, there is opportunity to have different bullet types within a cartridge (you can find Match ammo which has less bullet drop and more damage, but is more rare, for example.) Obviously due to restrictions we cannot yet have a perfect system with weapons feeding from different capacities as you can't load an M24 with 20 rounds of 7.62mm, but there is room for improvement here.
