Running from the start and flies

Once you get used to the game, you'll find that sneaking right from the start is actually better than just blindly running though Cherno. After dying, I respawned at Cherno, snuck into the Supermaket, Church and then a house. After which I had a new backpack, a shotgun and revolver with 5 clips each and 2-3 drinks/food. All this without alerting any zombies/players and only a few minutes game time. (I was shot at by a sniper right as I spawned, although he missed with ~10 shots. Sniper rounds whizzing past your head makes a really cool noise though.)

    "Casual" Mode Suggestion

Learning on a "casual" server where you don't lose everything will only teach you bad habits. Learning to play the game doesn't take long as it is. It's just that most people don't play the game correctly when they start, as they are used to more typical FPS, which is fine. It's just a matter of adapting.
  4. Dying is an opportunity to learn from your mistakes. I've learned more from the times I die than from the rest of the game. You have to understand the type of game it is and adapt to it. Just walk don't run, be cautious of everything/one and have fun. Watch some youtube guides or read some on here. Most games are too easy these days...we've grown accustomed to their difficulty level. Go play a game that's 10+ years old. DayZ will seem easy to learn after that.
  5. I've only managed to find a compas + map on one of my lives so far, yet with a simple online map I can very easily navigate my way around the map. Find any landmark (road, town, lighthouse etc) and start from there. Just make sure you don't spin in circles while in a forest or you might get lost for a while. Got this game a couple of days ago and really...the basics are pretty simple. Learning to stalk and evade/kill other players though is a skill that will take a few more days to learn though.

    A way to track players

Hmm, I didn't know this. Do you know how long it stays flattened? Might have to try this later.
