There shouldn't have to be an in-game morality system. You should feel bad enough in real life when you kill another character, causing others to lose days, maybe even weeks of play time. The thing is, people don't care about strangers. It's the way humans are supposed to be. 10,000 die in some drought in Africa? No sweat. Your hamster dies and you're sad all week. Killing some random person in a Zombie Apocalypse would be no different. There is no negative to killing them, unless you are currently solo. Pro's: No chance of them killing you They won't team up just to back-stab you You get their stuff Cons: It takes a couple of bullets Even with an artificial system in place like the one you're suggesting, people will still kill others. Either for fun, loot or because they are afraid of being killed themselves. Also, what happens if someone engages you, you kill them and get the "killer sickness" then along comes some other bandit who attacks you? You'll stand no chance with your aim being all over the place and making more noise with every step. You're at a disadvantage defending yourself against attackers who came after you.

Headbobbing in games usually makes my eyes sore too. Turn it off like the poster above said and you're good to go.

Please stop with anti-sandbox suggestions!

Remove the swearing and you have my opinion also. I couldn't find many players in-game, so I jumped out of game, onto TS3 and within 5 minutes, I've got a solid group of 6 players and another group of 5 which are both building camps on servers. This game is good, but what makes it great is the meta game. Much like Eve online. -
Find a server thats daytime...write down it's name...play it from now on? You'll even start to see some of the same players on the server and may even get to know someone.

I don't see why this is a bad thing. More players -> More money for development -> other companies start making similar games -> more fun?

No competent player should die

I don't know if it was the OP or not, but last night, I saw 2 ghillie suited players on a hill north of Cherno, in some trees, sniping down into the town. I follow the treeline up to them, got behind them and sniped 1 of them in the back of the head. As soon as I fired, the other DC'd, which was a shame and really annoyed me. The only complaint I have for DayZ is the x-logging during combat. If that was fixed, the game would be playable to it's fullest. Random leg breaking is rather funny and I always carry plenty of morphine for when it does happen. That's 1 less bandit for a couple of hours anyway. Man it felt good. You can reduce your chances of dying by staying away from the major pvp zones, but there is always a chance. I've seen countless players at smaller villages inland and running through the wilderness. It reduces your chances of death sure, but you're never safe. -
If you value your gear, don't play a night server unless you have NVG's. Flares just broadcast your exact location to everyone withing a 2km radius.

How many good people do you meet before you get shot?
Dreamseller replied to [email protected]'s topic in New Player Discussion
I don't count shoot-on-sight as being a bandit. Actively hunting for players is being a bandit. If I see someone and they have a gun...they are going down. If they are unarmed and in a city, then the same applies. They could easily find an enfield and gun me down. If I see someone unarmed, middle o nowhere / on the coast, they can live. Camping Cherno/Elektro/Airfield/Stary is being a bandit. Shooting on sight is being cautious. (Most people will disagree, but I'm not taking any chances.) -
Take the enfield until you can find a better weapon. They are great for killing other players, should the situation arise, although against zombies they only serve to attract more.

Should i raid the NW airport? If so how!
Dreamseller replied to -MadTommy's topic in New Player Discussion
I would have to advise against raiding the NW Airfield if you are alone. All the loot you mentioned can be found elsewhere. Backpacks - For an ALICE, try supermarkets, they spawn quite frequently there New Weapon - Deer Stands / Heli's. Compass - Same place as the Backpack Getting a M4A1 SD is going to be quite difficult, especially for a solo player. I've farmed the tents at Stary quite frequently with a group of 6-8 players and haven't seen one yet. I've also been to ~10 crashed helis and haven't seen them there either. Good luck finding one! -
"He didn't manage to press alt+f4 in time" (From page 1). Good, I'm glad he didn't press it in time. Alt+f4 is cheating, no way about it. You might as well just spawn in all your gear and give yourself infinite ammo while you're at it. Why you would admit it on a forum is beyond me, but please...stop.

Some feedback and ideas. A giant wall of text.
Dreamseller replied to SillySil's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It's Alpha. What do you expect? Of course it's bug ridden. That's why we are testing it, so they can be fixed. Too many people expect this to be some polished AAA title, which it isn't. Stop complaining and start reporting the bugs instead. -
PvP a solution that everyone can be happy about!
Dreamseller replied to W1Z22's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
If friendly fire is a toggle on/off, then every will just turn pvp off, farm stary/NW airfield then run to Cherno/Elektro and turn it back on... You can't have different game rules for different servers. It just unbalances the whole game. Without bandits the game would be too easy. With them it's quite frustrating. But everyone has to play by the same rules, otherwise you would need a different account for every type of server to keep settings from being exploited. -
Nothing, your client install is fine. No one starts with a weapon now, it's been patched out. Sometimes that warning message just appears.
