    You guys cant really believe that rocket will have a stand alone version of DayZ by September. He is not even close to being done with this mod for arma 2.
  3. I dont think you guys understand how hacks work for games,you seem to think making the servers go private will suddenly make all the hacks ever made for dayz disappear. Which will obviously not happen.
  4. I personally think this is a bad idea, for one at least with the public hive the dev's know if hackers spawn weapons in. On a private server you probably would not be able to tell if someone logged on spawned some weapons logged off and just played without hacks but with all the spawned weapons. Also when the dev's do ban hackers they are banned across all the servers who are on the public hive. If every server was private the hacker could simply just change servers and have 1000's to keep playing on if he or she ever got banned. If all servers were private admins could do whatever they wanted to you such as ban you for killing them or ban you if you raided their camp and the dayz dev's would not be able to do anything about it. To your comment saying they come into full servers with end game weapons, they're not end game weapons people can still kill them and if they kill someone with their high value weapon it would be still be the same if they used any other weapon the player would still be dead.
  5. The mod is not even finished for arma 2. If he is going to do anything with the game it would be to make it stand-alone.

    I added you on steam, i do have a mic and teamspeak/ventrilo clients. Over the past couple days the majority of my day was exploring or at least going far around the map.

    You do have a point, however if this patch is going to be released Wednesday then he has a couple days to add some more stuff in. If there was suppose to be just a fix for the 1.7.2.4 update then it should of came out the day after the update. People have probably been posting about the graphical glitches since the same day the patch even came out.

    If the mod had some sort of goal for all of the players to reach to instead of just doing what you said above maybe their wouldn't be so much killing.?

    Loading time varies from person to person and server to server. The more people the server has already connected usually the longer loading time. If you are stuck loading in the server for a very long time and never load in at all it is because the server is not running the latest dayz patch/arma patch and thus you will not load in.(I have only had problems when the server didnt have the latest dayz patch and i did) The six launcher will usually sort for you which servers have the latest dayz patch. if you try the arma 2 server selection it might show you can join it and play it even though they have not upgraded it.

    Really glad to see the graphical glitches being fixed. I was not able to even look or go near Balota because of them. I do hope however that this patch won't just consist of a couple fixes but also add on to some of the content in the mod already.

    Its not that hard, i have seen over 5 double barrels, 8 lee enfields over the past two days just checking 3-4 farms.

    Yes they are spawning i just got one the other day at the hospital in cherno. with the latest beta patch and dayz update. They are not easy to find they only have a 2 percent chance of spawning. Edit : if there are tin cans next to medical boxes or right under them i won't get the option to open the medical box only to look at the cans when i select gear.

    I don't believe all barbed wire is the cause of the graphical glitches. I was able to look at any barbed wire and not get any graphical glitches but even entering the Balota area or airfield it is unplayable same thing for Stary Sober. Cherno also has some graphical glitches to the south east of the city.

    You don't get spawn protection in real life, you also don't get loadouts or kits when you are born.

  18. Its not that hard, i have gone to the airfield about 4 or 5 times. Two or three times with my group and both the times we went as a group their were players already there. However i have gone alone and their wasn't a single player in the airfield. It just all depends on chance, if you want pvp go to Chernogorsk and fire off some rounds by the fire station or store they will go to you.
  19. so you want people to donate to help pay for your server just to get access into your server? When this is a free mod. So you wouldn't mind if rocket had server owners donate each month to stay connected with the hive?

    i have actually had two players shoot as us while we were in front of them and missed about two whole clips, and missed one of my friends after they killed two of us while he was zig zagging towards him.

    THIS is how the game should be

    Well you may be right on the amount of lag that it may cause. I agree with the thread maker because one hundred to two hundred zombies with about 20-30 players isn't as scary as 1,000 zombies with the same amount of players. It will make you question your actions, should i shoot this survivor for his equipment when their are zombies nearby? I actually liked the high zombie count in the experimental test patch server, i barly even wanted to go into town with all the amount of zombies! There were players that did and they had to waste alot of ammo to get the job done, it wasn't impossible but it wasn't easy for them either.

    Zombies didn't take more then one shot to kill, at the most for me was two. But then it all depends on the weapon you are using. The game was smoother for me, i really liked the high zombie count! Also ended up killing a guy up north with two shots to the back while he was prone with my m4a1

    Yeah he should of died when you first shot those bullets into him, i've once had a player instant disconnect in the airfield after he was shot and then after him reconnecting somewhere else with his friend we finally got him and then his friend disconnected only to connect in the tree line and take out one of our buddy's that was giving a blood transfusion to one of our group members
