ah well it wouldn't harm to have at least some communication with your community as a developer. Well the alphas could vary alot and depending on how well the developers do they may only need a couple of patches to actually fix the problems the game may have or they may release alot. As for the graphical glitches people should be able to voice there opinion but at the same time understand that its not a recent mod patch causing the glitches its a arma patch and that the possible fixes rocket may have for them might work for some people and might not work at all. -
Im kind of curious to see what happens if bugs occur in the standalone that they can't fix and what they'll say then.

Are you saying that the lack of communication and frequent updates are normal for alpha or beta or the reverse? It may be normal for him not to communicate with the community on how hes doing on the next patch but what i believe is getting under peoples skin is that hes not communicating with the dayzmod.com/forum, but yet hes answering and posting on reddit.com,doing interviews and releasing some information to the websites who are doing the interview. -

No during the beta stage. Whenever someone feels like voicing their opinion on the game and on what should possibly be done and their is a hint of rage in the wall of text everyone just automatically assumes that person is "bitching". You ever think someone decided to make a thread about how they felt because the other hundred thousand players who play the game might feel the same way? Also i don't see how you cussing out other players in the forum makes you mean, it just makes you sound illiterate. -
Mind quoting what he said, not saying oh a few months ago he said blah blah the actual post he made quote it. well based on what fraggle has said everything that rocket has said about the standalone is neither confirmed or denied, which means that the standalone could support 250 people or only 75 after everyone gets the stand alone and then see how well the servers do with all the stress.

Non-lethal rounds should just break a players leg and or daze them, Whatever the player does after that non-lethal round is up to them.

You are clearly talking about WarZ and not DayZ. Im pretty sure you will have to find the correct materials to start a underground base, then find the materials to add onto it and maintain it.

Well i have only read about two interviews from two different sites at two different dates and time and both basically talked about the same thing except one added a little bit more to the concept of dogs then the older interview. -

Yeah i understand they have been busy, things should start to move a little bit now. However one thing that really bothers me is that the website has the DayZ Development twitter on there and all that is being posted in interviews and such and nothing really about the standalone or mod itself.(Game wise) Also rocket has said and alot of people have said that some of the bugs in DayZ can only be fixed by going standalone, so what does that say about the mod? How is rocket going to continue developing the mod along with the standalone and use the mod as his testing zone if there are bugs that cannot be sorted out because of the arma engine? One more thing : i also feel that rocket should just stop doing interviews for a while because alot of the things are being repeated over and over and the stuff that isnt like the small improvements with the patch and dogs should be discussed with the DayZ community. All he has to say is look ive been doing alot of interviews i have said all i can say about the next patch and ill do a interview with you on a later date when i have more progress on the standalone or the mod. -

I just wish all the info that is known would actually be put up on the appropriate site. http://dayzgame.com/ New players wishing to acquire information on the stand alone shouldn't have time shift through posts and interviews just to find few facts about the game. They should just be able to go on the website and say oh alright this is more convenient. However, with the amount of repeated interviewer questions one could just simply watch or read any old interview and maybe get the information. -
Well it does seem like that when people bought Arma 2 for DayZ, but then if that was the case they should just try out Arma 2 until the bugs get fixed. However some people did get frustrated when alot of the information being released about whether it be the mod or the standalone it was being released on external sites and nothing was being said on the forums or the actual standalone website.

So basically we all have to wait for the standalone to at least have a playable fun experience with DayZ?

i do believe if you ip ban someone who lives in a house hold where their are more then one person with a computer who play dayz then both will be banned unless the one not banned refreshs his dynamic ip.

rocket will release the hotfix or patch when its ready, as for the people complaining you think by doing so its gonna make rocket code and fix bugs any faster? we may have to wait a while but it will eventually come. If you are upset because the game is broken then simply get off dayz and go play a game that is not in a unplayable state or go outside and enjoy the suns rays. however instead of worrying about when the update or patch will come you should be worried on if the bugs will be properly fixed or not.

maybe he'll announce in a week that he will skip 1.7.3 and go to 1.7.4 then suddenly two weeks later he'll release 1.7.3 instead?

You should have to build a sign appropriate to where your gonna place it. Example, you build the part of the sign where the text goes but no pole to attach it into the ground. if you wanted to stick it on something else you would need duck tape or glue, but the glue and duck tape won't last forever unless you keep going back to re-tape it or re-glue it. After the tape or glue wears it will fall down as loot not as a displayable sign. Their should also be a sign limit so people aren't just randomly spamming signs to lag the server. Also the different materials used to make the sign would require different items to write on it and some signs will just be found as look such as a small whiteboard but you will need markers first to write on it. If you had a wooden sign you would need a knife to carve into it, the carving wouldn't be instant and would take X amount of seconds and after a while it would dull your knife or you'll have a chance of cutting your self. If you had a metal sign you might need a blow torch or maybe a firework to burn what you are saying into it. Wooden signs could be taken down by being burned with a box of matchs or being cut down by someone with a axe. The metal one's would either have to be hit by a vehicle or a similar blowtorch would be used to take it down,toolbox's to weaken it then chop it down with a axe?. However when they make the option of people making bases of course they're gonna want to put some signs on it. So if you are only allowed three signs in the world, in your own base you would be allowed six.

Every place where you can put a item is sort of blacked out and has a box, so does that mean we will not be able to change the striped shirt/ blue jacket? -
Vest pouches are found in the game already. However they take up the backpack slot and offer very little space. The starter bag has more slots then the biggest vest pouch i believe. Now my idea is that instead of putting the pouch on your back, you are able to equip it to the front. So now you have a bag on your bag and a vest pouch on your chest. Rocket could always implement some sort of speed reduction but i highly doubt he will do this. Also if it is possible rocket should allow you to reload ammo directly from your vest pouch into your gun The sentence after this one is in response if this ever gets implemented saying that vest pouches should be given when you spawn. Vest pouches also should not be given on start, they should be found like how people find them now and backpacks. It would be alot easier to make supply runs to town when your in need of food and water, or if you need that extra space to carry ammo. 1 2

Alright so the thread maker had said if you died you wouldnt be able to pick up your old gun but it really wouldnt matter because your freshly spawned character isnt the same character who previously owned the gun so he should be able to pick it up right? or am i missing something?

Or have a option to enter a mode where you can get chance to mimic a zombie by holding the forward key while walking and you move your mouse to stagger yourself around like a zombie normally would.

But why should we have to go to a interview that was not specified that rocket did to find out about the latest patch? If anything he should at least be posting something on the forums. No one should have to go to external sites to find new information on a mod, it would be more practical for the external sites to get information from the actual forums/website. Same thing with the stand alone, he has a site for all the information on the standalone but yet hes gonna go out and do a interview and release new information through that rather then a site specifically made for the stand alone.

Why dont you guys all just stop replying to this thread? I mean you have said all you can about the new update. The graphical bugs are back and/or gone for people. The humanity system has bugs. Tents and vehicles don't save properly. If rocket refuses to post or acknowledge any of you guys reporting bugs, next time he releases a "test" patch just dont test it out or give you feedback to it.

It sounds like a nice idea, however i believe they should just have like how you can place armor on yourself in various games, the slots.
