Do you know, I was thinking that exact same thing, that launcher has been nothing but issue after issue, be it with my firewall, not connecting to the internet to update, loading "locked" servers while there's no padlock icon, stopping webpages from loading (What??...and I KNOW it was that because I turned it off and they loaded, I turned it on and they stopped) etc etc. I will try that then, I just restarted to see if it would help. Will see how it goes!

So there I was, taking a break from the server dying after my longest play through ever. I had everything from an assault rifle and side arm with loads of ammo, a rather large backpack full of food, water, cantean, bandages, knife, optics, compass, map, hatchet, watch, toolbox and so much stuff I couldn't carry nor want anything else, as well as stuff in my truck parked in the bushes and here I am, fretting if I should log back on because it crashed in an army base, and I get in, all is fine, I think I better leave fast (it logged me inside one of the big buildings when I was actually OUT side of the base when it crashed) and I had to climb a slanted pole NOT A FOOT OFF THE GROUND to get over the broken down fence when for some reason, I screamed in pain and fell unconcious losing blood. I can't do anything and have to wait to watch my 12000 blood which I've managed to keep through the whole game drop. After I come too MY CHARACTER IS RUNNING ON HIS OWN AND I CAN'T FUCKING STOP IT, I'm dropping down prone, hitting all my keys to try and stop, couldn't and i was surrounded by zombies so I had to stop it some how quick before I alerted them, so I log off and back on and hey look! I'm unconcious and die. What good is a survival game when fucking 1 foot of the ground poles that you have to climb over to get out kills you. Yeh yeh, alpha blah blah blah. In before U MAD. YEH! IM MAD!

You number-fu is pure speculation. Version numbering systems are quite arbitrary. Okay, I don't program games so I won't pretend to know (but I won't go and believe some random person on forums saying "Oh but I do!" because going by forums, everyones a programmer, IT tech, support and graphic designer) but that doesn't sound right. I really don't think they're arbitrary and rather go by decimals for each patch. A minor update might be a 0.0.1 and a fairly large one 0.1 while a major 1. At least it seems that way with every other game published.

I#d love a squad but or 3-4 people, 5 MAX, 10 is just too much and too many to trust. I'd prefer 3 tbh. I'm 31 with the mental age of 12, possibly 13! I do have some honour though, I might shoot you in the face but that's because I'm unsure of your intentions, I'd never backstab you though, and I'd be VERY untrusting of you for quite a while. I've not hard feelings towards shooting random people, but not my partners. Share with me and I'll share with you, be greedy and I'll dump you. This must be true I think, I found a box and did rearm and there were like 10 bandages and 5 epi pends, 5 morphine and all sorts of stuff in there, though to be fair, I didn't check before I clicked rearm, so maybe it was in there already but with everything picked clean around it, I doubt it.

What? I'm not pissed off with no way to defend yourself, or the buildings. I don't care about being shot nor killed by a zombie. I care because I had one exit out of my location crawling up a pole one foot off the ground and knocking me out only to awake with a character spazzing out and not in my control as it runs and dives about unable to be stopped heading towards a group of zombies after a server crash completely out of any control. Losing a fairly progressed character myself is one thing, losing it without any control due to ridiculous mechanics, is another. You imply that this is working correctly?

I'd be fine with this if it removed breaking your legs on a pebble. Until pebbles don't pose a serious and all too real threat, I'd rather this wasn't implemented.

O'rly? He'll lose A LOT of players currently not paying anything? A lot of these players who cry and demand things and threaten to quit if they don't happen regardless of not paying anything? You know what, who cares? He makes no money from you. Put a monthly subscription in and have some proper advertisement and you'll get a TON of people signing up and actually giving him money. These people would care more about the game they play and realise what it is they've bought and paying (if their intelligent enough to do research) so you won't have as many whiners demanding to change the key aspects of it. Yes, you'll get whines and what not, but none of this "let me play on a server where I can't get shot!" crap. There would also be a higher group of responsible people, since there's a fee. Not so many idiotic kids anyway. Yes, mummy and daddy will pay for some of their accounts, but it would at least cut down on them. I don't wish to say the CoD Kiddies who got this for a small fee once and don't have to worry about it, but yeah.

To be honest, who gives a crap anyway? Sounds to me a Russian is getting upset. Well, here's the deal! Don't like it? Make your own mod. I LOVE this game and my OWN opinion is that Russian guns pretty much suck, I would much rather have another countries. Before all the AK fanboys come out the wood work, it may be one of the most widely used guns, but that's for a reason and it's not because it's a great gun. It's very few mechanical parts, cheap to make and very robust, with that said, I'm not rolling around in mud and I'd rather take an M16 of any variation over an AK. They look better, sound better, more accurate and faster fire rate. Won't even get into the rounds. As for it being in Russia, do you REALLY think that if this were in America (for example) you would ONLY see American guns? Do you really think in an apocalyptic FANTASY no one else would have any involvement? If I put myself in characters shoes and found myself with an M16A2 (Actually don't know the full list of guns in the game, so I'm throwing random examples) I'll certainly not question where it came from. It's a game, not a real life situation. If you think you can do better not a single person is stopping you from creating your own mod. It's also in Alpha stage, by all means, make a suggestion, but don't throw your toys out the pram.

I have some questions and a story, please, if you don't wish to read the story, skip to the bottom and help with my questions! Thank you. ------------------------------- So there I was, starting a new life again, something which gives me a feeling of safety and being able to not worry about dying, (since being new an' all, I can get to grips with the game), and after walking for ages I've explored numerous villages (With a ton of zombies and so many houses but not a single one I can enter or any items :( ) and I had passed about 4 deer hunter stand thingies with nothing in, I'm starting to get both thirsty and hungry and there it was! A nice shiny pick up truck, just sitting there half on the road and half on the grass as though it had been parked. My heart raced, I could feel the blood rushing to my head and starting to feel a little light headed. I ran to it, still starving and hungry and finally a house next to it with the door wide open. I didn't even think, I just nabbed it, no time to check the house! After driving off I start to contemplate what I need to do, my water levels are blinking red now and I have nothing except what I start with. I see a village with what looked to be a hanger of some type and a few barns, I drive up cautiously and stop, turn off my engine and have a little look. I see a few zombies, not much else. I'm thinking do I get out and have a look? If I don't, I'll starve. Gunshots! I felt my adam's apple rise to my teeth and I try to start the engine. Dammit, I can't! I have to get out and back in again, I can't think straight but I try to keep a level head, I got it going and drive off across the fields, I didn't want to turn round, I couldn't see behind me very well due to the crap in the back of the truck, I head to the woods, I drive in slowly, trying to miss the trees, still hearing shot after shot, rather rapid ones, he must have had an automatic. I get out the woods but I need to turn back to the road, I drive as fast as I can safely without hitting the trees and get on the road, I'm thinking if he doesn't kill me, I'm going to starve, but it would be suicide stopping there. I drive along the road for quite some time, I've got around a third of my gas tank left and I see a huge tower, I follow an off road up, where there's a couple of army guys laying down dead, I don't know what killed them but I can't loot them. There's a barrier which I knock down, slightly damaging my wheels, but not much else I can do. As I get closer to the tower, I turn my engine off and just wait, looks okay! I see a lot of corpses though, not sure if their just part of the atmosphere or if a player got them. Still, can't loot them, except for one , he wasn't dressed up in camo gear, but he had A LOT of stuff, I panic, I think something must have killed him but I don't know what. I forgot to mention I had picked up a lee enfield in one of the barns, sadly it only had a couple mags, there were more on the ground but I didn't want to risk picking them up, I wanted in and out! At least I had a weapon. But what to do? This guy had so much stuff, I couldn't carry it all! I took what I could, then figured out I could take his backpack. I took the food and 4 cans of coke and pepsi, the water bottle, compass, watch, hatchet and ammo. Drank and ate what I needed and took some other items, A knife and maybe a toolbox, I'm not sure about the tools but I think. I ran back to my truck (20 or so meters away) and remembered seeing you can put stuff in it, I didn't really want to though, having the thing was already so stressful! I put some coke in there and ran back to the guy, As I did, some zombies came running out (The tower was huge, and surrounded by a couple buildings and what looked to be a big gate) I shot them and a few more came, after killing them I took some more ammo off the guy and went to refill my truck with a jerry can I also found on him. When I went back to loot the guy, he was gone, he still had so much stuff on him, but I don't know what exactly, I was rushing, I was clambering around trying to find his corpse in case he despawned and left the items, I could hear the flies anyway. More zombies came and I thought I'm making too much noise with the gunshots, I had to go, I didn't want to attract any survivors. Gutted because I was so curious what was in side, all the zombies dressed up as army dudes, so maybe there were some nice weapons, still, I got some food and water and a gun now, along with a knife and other goodies but sadly no matches, I'm sure the guy had some but as I've stated, not much I can do now. One thing I didn't have was a plan! I thought this was the most needed thing so I filled up my truck and had a full tank of gas and only very slightly yellow wheels. drove around for quite some time and I saw a deer stand, I thought maybe there would be some matches in it. I run up the ladder and see another not far in the distance, there's a few zombies and I decided I needed target practice. As I shot one, a few came running, I jumped in my truck and drove at them, these dudes also dressed in army uniforms, except for one, who was dressed like a nazi captain. I try to run him over, and I hear "No no no no no no nooo" as I miss and think shit, it's a survivor, I panic and drive off and come to the end of the road with a cliff edge, I turn around and drive back, and there's the 3 zombies and the nazi guy..I thought is he infected? Can that happen? He looked like a Zed, and they don't seem to care much for him, I make the decision to hit him, I mean come on? He's being followed by zombies, he looks like one and why is he trying to get to me? He gona eat me?! He gona steal my truck? Is the son of a bitch going to infect me?! After running him over, and another 4-5 times just to make sure, I check his corpse and it seems he was a player I think, he had a few worthless items on but more than what I've ever seen a typical Zed carry. I decided to stick to my original plan which was to drive off somewhere safe and make a plan and found some woods with a few houses on an off road. I drove up into the trees, not to far but not close enough to the road for someone to nab the car and drive off. I checked my compass (sadly no map, another thing I'm sure the guy had) and killed the pig standing close to me, grab the meat and go back to my truck (I've named her Betty). I see a little save off road option, so I do so. As I'm getting into the truck, I reverse and get the message "You were kicked from the server" So, here I am, with some questions! ------------------------------ 1 - I found a truck, I saved it with the save off-road option, then got kicked from the server. Does the truck despawn with me? Can someone steal it? Do I instantly lose it when I log off? Do I have to play on THAT server again to get my truck back? I'm confused how it works, if I enter a different server do I have my truck because I saved it, or will it only be on the same server to which I was kicked from 2 - Why would I have been kicked? Admin wanting to steal my truck or because the game is buggy? I can't remember what it said but it did have a message "you were kicked off the game, script something something" 3 - The guy I ran over, I heard him say no no no no no, he looked so much like a zombie, and the other zombies weren't chasing him, more walking with him, whats that about? Could it have been someone hiding somewhere else saying that? 4 - Now I have my truck, what can I do? I am more stressed than ever, it felt better having no responsibilities, I feel like blowing her up tbh. I obviously can't trust ANYONE, but can they get in while I'm in it? Is there a safe way to log off? I'm desperate for a coffee and if I never got kicked I would have stayed on forever Thanks for the help!

I have to add one more actually 5 - When you die, I read how people go back to get their stuff quickly. How can you do that? Unless you know the whole land inside out won't you need a map? So lets say I'm in the middle of no where, I've stored some stuff, I get shot, I respawn, now what? I need to first find a gun, map and get back to the middle of no where, this isn't a problem for me, I see it as if I die, I lose everything and no chance of getting it back, but is there way's of saving stuff then if you die? or respawning close to where you died? I've seen numerous posts of people saying get it before it's despawned. I haven't even found a map once in the game so I never know where I am.

Sorry but this is somethings that have been bugging me for a while now and I'm still none the wiser 1: I see on videos people talking all the time, but I have NEVER seen anyone say anything. I've seen a few people (some just run up to me and say nothing). What's the deal? I've usually played on EU servers but I've played on US ones also I've tried selecting "Direct communication" with the > button then press / and type something (close to someone) and I've pressed caps lock and tried speaking in my mic (I see a little mic icon appear, this is correct is it not?) 2: Are there bots? I found what I can only assume to be a city and there were loads of people running around together. Some ran at me (I was miles away dunno how they saw me) and I kept trying to hide until they just seemed to home in on me. The first one who got close I axed to the face in panic (sorry) and he died, then another ran up to me, I axed him (I'm sure he saw me kill his friend so I paniced!) and he ran off and jumped in some water. Later I found some guy sneaking up on me so I axed him too but no one said anything 3: I broke my leg (seem to do this alot :() and I had found more in this play through than any other so I tried to continue abit, was trying to get up some stairs then suddenly I could run. Does the leg automatically repair itself after a while with no morphine? 4: I was running from some zombies and DESPERATELY needed a RL pee, so I aborted. When I came back, I had full blood (I was on like 11000 or something) Bug? 5: I found a bus, I crashed it though, or well, I was driving a long and then it wouldn't move, I think the wheel fell off. In my last play through I found a location with tons and tons of stuff, toolbox, wheels, scrap metal, tank trap?, wire, engine and transmission(I think) and a few other things I've forgot, so two parts to this Q i) Is it worth carrying this stuff around with you? Toolbox and knife I guess but the rest? ii) There were loads of broken cars but none seemed to have any options to fix, how do I fix them up? 6: as my playthroughs are getting longer I starve a lot. I don't run through the coast but into the woods, never finding a gun though, is there a tip to find some beans? I had more, but I've forgot and this is already too long people won't read :( I'm seriously wondering about the chat though. I've not heard a soul. Is there a special option to turn it on or something? THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

The reason I asked about bots was for 3 reasons 1: about 5 guys were running standing up like weirdos along a road in the city being chased by zombies running in a strange pattern 2: Before I joined the server, there were slots taken by "AI" names 3: The first one to run up to me seemed to get stuck on fencing, ran into a house and ran "at me" through the window (he didnt pass through it, just kept running into the glass)

Strange thing, I just heard some russians in the lobby, this was the first time ever, but I asked if they could hear me and they ignored me, my little mic showed up so I don't know if its working or not :( Oh, I just remembered: I was searching around this place, and I found a ton of stuff, and I kept looking and found different stuff in areas I'm sure I had already checked. Does stuff spawn? Despawn? Is it random items and they can just appear Also, sometimes I hear flies, I can't find any bodies though, do flies ALWAYS mean theres a body there or could it have despawned? Lastly, I sometimes hear a single fly, high pitched, as though its following me, what does this mean?

So I started a new game for my first time it was at night however, took m a while to figure out the flashlight, after which I got exploring. Didn't take too long to die though, I ran out into the ocean and I think the server crashed, or I did. Now each time I play a new game, it firstly asks me to select my gender (and clearly states how I can't ever change it again) and spawns me on the beach. I don't seem to have a map either, since when I press M it's a black screen. I've had numerous games now, each time it asks me to select my gender when I change server, and each time it spawns me in exactly the same location. I thought it had random spawns? How come I have to keep selecting gender (don't care but it says it's permanent?) and don't I get a map? Thanks

That's strange :( It's kinda a boring place, I have to run for ages to a little village. I don't know what's wrong, I do have a possible idea and that's my firewall, I've noticed norton 360 is blocking a TON of registry keys from ARMA. I usually only get a page or so a day of all activity, I had 28 pages of this one thing over an hour. There's a problem though, it crashes every single time I go to the firewall options and I have to restart my computer, this apparently is a known bug with norton and their working on it...for a year now. So I can't manually add and block things. I could do it but I apparently entered too many entries too quickly and now it's screwed. The entry's say something like "unauthorised access blocked (Access process data)" The target is ccsvhost.exe which I think is norton blocking things made to the registry. This ofc may not be what's wrong, I'm just wondering what it could be :( So, what should happen? Should I be stuck with the same character? Should I randomly spawn in a different location? Is there any suggestions?
