Nope. Go into steam Right mouse Arma 2, Operation Arrowhead. Go to Properties Go to Set launch options, enter the following exactly:- -mod=@dayz Go to local files 2 tabs along. Verigy integrity of game cache Run Arma2 CO once (I use to get a stupid command prompt, but it stopped) Close the game Run six launcher (or updater, but then if updater set the preferences for Dayz, can't remember how) Choose your server Once you're in, close the launcher to stop lagging every 10 secs.

If not, verify the games intergity in steam (right mouse ARMA CO and go to the options) Actually, If I think about it, FIRST run Arma (cant remember if its OA or OC you run. Or is there a thread on it already? So, from what I gather, loot isn't spawned on the server for all to see, but spawned when approached. So if you're in a group then the group will see the same loot, but if you go to a zone and let's say someone has been there and left 30 minutes prior to that, then new loot will spawn, correct? Is there a timer on when new loot spawns, if you leave a zone and come back say, an hour later, will different loot be there? What about if someone is already in the zone and you turn up, they have taken the loot then you won't see any either? I've also logged on a server inside a supermarket, there was absolutely nothing there, my friends logged on and I went to our main server (it was down previously due to the DDoS) and again logging inside the same supermarket there wasn't a single item (not even tin cans). I have no problem with this, in fact I think it's good since it stops server hoppers, but is this the case? Because I've not heard it actually be mentioned before and do see threads on people complaining that others just hop servers in a loot spot. Is there any detailed site with explanations on how it all works? Thanks.

Because a lot of their primary subscribers are younger players, and I don't care what anyone likes to claim, younger players whine a hell of a lot more. When they end up buying the game with their pocket money, paper round money, daddies credit card and start getting killed left right and center, not spawning with a weapon and generally finding it hard, they will come running to the forums and whining. The more than whine, the more it looks like it's what the general player base wants (and may even turn to be the general player base) thus in turn, the game has a chance (depending on how much Rocket can take of the whiny dribbling from the kids) to consume itself and head off into the same direction as all other mainstream games, catering to the casuals. This and the fact that I guarantee you that these children won't under stand what an Alpha is, nor will they understand what a Mod is and start demanding things, throwing their toys out the pram and jumping up and down on how they spent money on this game and deserve whatever shit they think they deserve. That's MY reason to being against it. I think that's a good enough reason and whether you do or not doesn't make your decision any more important.

With the army truck it can be a few seconds to find where to save it, with the white off road truck its just at the door and with the ATV it's instant. Found it okay on the hippy vehicle, just keep scrolling until you have it.

New players DON'T need a weapon. I'm fairly new and I enjoyed starting without one. Please learn the game before you start whining. Once YOU learn it, it will become easier, no need to fuck the game up for everyone else because a new player is having problems. I figured all (well most) out on my own, I guess I am lucky because I saw a video saying you needed to reload the hatchet but that's about it, everything else is completely down to you. Press F, cycle through your available inventory. Better check with scrolling middle mouse, select hatchet, press R to reload, have a swing BEFORE you get into combat to find out if it works.

The Dayz team are aware of your issue and are trying to fix the issue at the present time. Don't panic! As of yesterday 02 July (Not sure of the time, I would guess around 11GMT) the central servers were hit by a DDoS attack. This effected ALL servers and gave the players different issues, such as stuck on the waiting for character screen or loading. You might have also been in the game at the time and seen a lot of Red/Yellow broken chain link icons on the screen. You also may not have been able to loot items, and you may not have been able to find your servers and/or they were grey. You may have even had errors such as incorrect server version, or something as simple as massive lag. As I take it, they were working through the day/night to fix this. If you currently have an issue with Dayz it would be in your best interest to just LEAVE IT ALONE for now. You may end up breaking something that isn't broken on your end. I made this mistake and ended up updating battle eye and verifying the client on steam. Up until recently they were still having issues with the DDoS attacks, and now they have taken this time to go into maintenance. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=26199 Currently the servers are planned to be back online at 4PM GMT and so far it's going smooth. I advise everyone to sit back and chill. I'd recommend that you don't all rush to log on and 4pm either and add to the servers load. Actually I think Holland is GMT+2 at the moment (Summer time) For example, England is usually GMT, but it's now BST (British summer time) so it's actually GMT+1 and due to Holland being an hour ahead of the UK (Germany also, along with Sweden, Norway etc) it's GMT+2. Currently it's 13:00 GMT. It's 14:00 in the UK and I would guess it's 15:00 in holland (PM so in 12 hour timings, it's 1PM GMT - 2PM UK - 3PM Germany "I think"

Oh, I think it's fine then, there's a few trees here and there (groups of 3-4 I guess) BUT if we continue walking, you do see just plains and plains of grass, we're about 5 minutes walk from the plains I guess. Our camp should be safe from "forced" resets right? (Safe from players I know not)

I have a camp and I'm not sure if it's "off the map" or not, when I look at one online that location isn't there, but it's in the in game map. Can someone tell me where "off the map" is, it didn't take like 2 hours to walk there to the next location I guess (Not sure, maybe an hour, to black lake or something). There were tree's and grass but very thin amounts of trees not like a thick forest or anything. It wasn't hard to get to, but it was up the top right of the map, it is legal to be there right? Does anyone have a map location of it I can view please? Like I said, it was on the game map but I can't find it on any that's googled
