    Nemesis Arms Vanquish Rifle

    it should replace it ENTIRELY
  2. DefoneESP

    Desert Eagle

i say NO id rather see more realistically owned firearms.. Glocks, M&Ps, .38spc, shotguns, bolt action hunting rifles, etc. id rather not see any .50 cal sniper rifles, or oversized glamor guns like the DE

    Nemesis Arms Vanquish Rifle

neat rifle, just not very practical this is one of those rifles for "gun guys" they have every rifle known to man, like random unnecessary features, wanna be unique at the range, catch attention etc i dont think this is something you would find randomly in a post apocalyptic eastern European country unfortunately plus those are some not so common calibers, so ammo collecting would be a pain

    Best place for FNX mags

had the best luck for pistol mags in the Police Station (or jail), never found them anywhere else, also hear some pistols have a mag already in them.. havent been able to verify that though
  5. i have had it happen 3 times so far, might be a dsync issue as all 3 times i had the red chainlink

    Server Hopping (Character Reset?)

you lost me at "Server Hopping" :emptycan:

    Weapon and Ammunition Rarity (Discussion)

I am on the fence.. as it is right now, i cherish my weapon (and it's ammo), only using it as a last resort.. ammo is fairly abundant (if you know where to look), but it's alpha and i know they want to test out features on the other hand, in later developments of this game, where hunting will become more viable I think it will play another role in your survival. I would like to see less military weapons for sure. I would like to see civilian weapons such as Rem 700, Mossberg 500, maybe even some smaller .22 cal like 10/22 or something of that nature i think civilian weapons would play a role more for personal protection/hunting than noob spawn or NWAF camping

    Character was never wiped once...

i have had 3 wipes, oddly enough they were 3 completely geared characters... all 3 times ive had wipes i noticed i had a red chain link when i logged out oddly enough.. coincidence maybe?

    Mosin with Long Range Scope

same experience ive just recently picked up a long range scope and havent tested it out, but with irons and the bipod i was hitting anything i was intending to shoot now the M4 on the other hand, ive had it completely miss it's mark at 50-100m with a red dot, but dead on at 200m with iron sights

    Crosshair on game screen

gas stations have maps as well, it seems to me the portion of the map you find is relational to where you currently are.. i found a map of NE Chernarus in Berezino, a map of NW Chernarus in Vybor, and a map of SE Chernarus in Chernogorsk.. i cant be sure though ^_^
  11. is the screen all blank but the single dot is still visable? sometimes when i join servers everything is grey but i can see my cursor usually fixed by clicking escape, configure, and just clicking on the video option corrects everything also if you are suffering from blood loss and your screen goes blurry you can correct it by doing the same thing
  12. heres some tips for you STAY OFF THE COAST Move inland ASAP scope out towns from a distance before moving in AVOID PLAYERS FOR THE MOMENT - theres no real negative impact for killing other players (morality system, emotions, etc.) this is alpha Play in a group - safety in numbers, people will tend to avoid groups of players
  13. here use this.. CHERNARUS then look around your location and use terrain association, look for large structures, land features, etc. to compare with the map

    Banned

i doubt you were banned for no reason... but no it wont transfer to this game
  15. I have been playing DayZ for a while now, had some long lasting characters as well. The SA (standalone) isn't all that much different (aside from being alpha and prone to bugs new items) and the same rules apply, so here is some info for you new players that I have come to find useful in my travels. These are very basic principals that I use when starting out. THIS IS A GAME, NOT REAL LIFE DO NOT GET ATTACHED TO YOUR GEAR, YOU WILL LOSE IT PEOPLE EXPLOIT BY SERVER HOPPING OR COMBAT LOGGING, GET OVER IT UNTIL ANTI-LOGGING FEATURES HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED THERE ARE PLAYERS THAT ARE BETTER THAN YOU, ACCEPT IT AND LEARN FROM IT Starting out: Most likely you have spawned somewhere between Kamenka or Chernogorsk. Some of you may have spawned at Novy Sobor, Kamyshovo, or just east of Three Valleys (not sure if it is marked that on an in-game map) first thing you need to do is figure out WHERE you are. You can do this by either finding major distinguishing features surrounding you (land features or man-made features such as buildings, farms, etc.) and referencing them with this holy grail of a map CHERNARUS OK, I know where I am: So now you LEAVE THE COAST. Most likely if you are reading this, you have spawned a couple times, been killed by players or zombies (more commonly another player). The coast is dangerous, it is littered with new players and geared out elite veterans or bandits, most will Kill On Site (KoS), some will humiliate and rob you (I am guilty of this). The SA has made the coast even more appealing now with the addition of the very LARGE military compound at the Balota airfield, a military outpost NE of Kamenka etc, this will only guarantee your contact with other players and a painful death. Also any goods or gear available on the coast are probably gone due to heavy player traffic. You will have a better chance of survival by moving inland. Look on the map, find the nearest inland town/city and head towards it, reference your map with your current surroundings (terrain association) to get to your desired location. Food and drink: these are more important than finding a weapon! Once you get to your location start searching, I tend to avoid smaller houses as they don't usually yield that much reward, I stick towards larger houses (two story or large single story). You need a renewable water source (canteen or water bottle) and a stock pile of canned goods. having one or two of each (food and drink) is a good start, but the more the better, you may find yourself in the middle of nowhere starving and dehydrated because you thought it was more important to hang onto that extra magazine or attachment for that rifle you will never find. AVOID ROTTEN FRUIT, sure you can get away with one or two here and there, but ultimately you will get sick, and you will die. It is not worth the risk. Traveling and Camouflage: You can spot a noob easily. They are the ones making a B-Line from one point to another. They travel on roads during daylight, and usually have a trail of zombies behind them. Don't make yourself a target. Use the terrain to your advantage. Travel in the tree line, it may take you longer to get to where you need to be, but it will be a hell of a lot safer. STAY LOW AND STAY ALIVE, crouching is your friend, maintaining a small silhouette makes you harder to hit. Now that you have been around for a few minutes you may have come across some clothing, be smart about what you are wearing, some may want to make a fashion statement in this post apocalyptic world and be an individual. That is all well and good, but if you are wearing a yellow raincoat and winter white hunters pants you will stick out like a sore thumb. Pick colors that match the environment, browns and greens, black would be acceptable as well. It will help keep you from getting spotted so easily. Learn what you need and don't need: I say if you got the room to spare, then why not? You can always drop it later for a more important item. Priority should always be Food/Water>Ammo>Medical>everything else (if you find yourself getting hurt more than hurting others, then switch Ammo for Medical). Also in a pinch you can tear some clothing you find into rags and use them as bandages if you are out of actual bandages. There is more, but I don't want to draw this out any more than I already have. Any questions do ask.

    My problems with this game

to answer all of your remarks with one statement: THIS IS ALPHA, don't expect all the current features to be there at release.
  17. DefoneESP

im stuck in a wall and cant get out!

Vaulting (press V) while running in place, sometimes going prone and rolling helps. Try logging out then logging back in holding Forward that helped me when I mistakenly logged out in a raised house, and upon logging in i was inside the floor boards.
  18. DefoneESP

    How long have you survived?

I have died a good 8-10 times so far, 3 of those times I was fully geared and had random character wipes (meaning I logged out, logged back in a while later and was a fresh spawn), the rest were from dehydration, starvation, eating rotten fruit, blood loss and zombies. I have yet to have been killed by another player *knocks on wood* I have however taken many lives with no remorse. As far as age my current one is about 1 day old and fully geared.
  19. DefoneESP

By far, the most heart-pounding moment I've had in DayZ

I tell this to everyone I come across in game.. DO NOT GET ATTACHED TO YOUR LOOT YOU WILL LOSE IT AT SOME POINT (usually as I am taking it off their corpse, or making them drop everything on the ground) Good story up until the combat log
  20. DefoneESP

Hallelujah! I have seen the light!!!

heres a better way to tell if you are looking to play on a day server: Step 1: Go to server browser and refresh Step 2: Click PLAYERS tab and sort from high-low Servers with 25+ players are more likely to be during daylight Anything less than that, is most likely night time (and full of server hoppers :) )
  21. DefoneESP

    Flipside of Server Hopping

I do this sometimes, had pretty good success i tend to hang out at the military post west of Strary, i did a run through the barracks first, got almost a full head to toe set, then i waited for about 5min and BAM! my first hopper, took him out, got the gas mask, ballistic helmet and a fully decked out M4 (red dot, RIS rail, bayonet, Magpul buttstock), and some russian camo pants server hopping is back with a vengence sadly, but with the bugs and random character wipes (this is alpha) it doesnt matter all that much
  22. DefoneESP

Being a bandit done right. (Video)

    hilarious
  23. DefoneESP

    Goodbye Chernarus!!!

TLC.. more like an act of god
  24. DefoneESP

    RPG 18?

my guess would be someone brought it in from a non-battleye server using scripts to drop ammo boxes, i have never found any RPG items in dayz

Weapon of choice: pros and cons

usually i hide in the tree line north of cherno or elektro and watch the fires station(s), or hospital/field hospital and await the helpless fools, from my spots in both cities i know the distance to those main points and dial in with my m107 easy pickins! also im usually 650-800m away, so zeds usually wont spawn nor with my rifle usually alert them just wish the m107 was compatible with NVGs
