lol - you gotta be kidding. This is the 3rd thread by you on that very topc in like 4 hrs. as i told you before USE GOOGLE search for stuff like "arma 2 cd key registry"

apparently the cd-key is stored somewhere in the registry. use google to find out where and in what format it is stored and don't come back moaning when you fuck up your game by screwing around in the registry ;o) PS: but then again that is the same info you got already in this thread so i am somewhat confused on why you opened another thread... http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=30305

the up-to-date version of the beta patch is 1.60.94444 (not sure whether that fixes it actually tho - but maybe worth a shot)

basically: 1) rightclick in the preset list on the left and create a new preset 2) highlight that preset 3) switch to the mod tab on the right side 4) look for @dayz (they are in alphabetical order - or you can search by typing in the field above "name" on the mod list) 5) rightclick @dayz and chose "add to preset" 6) make sure you it added the expansion/beta as well to you preset 7) make sure your preset is updated (green) if it is not rightclick -> updater actions 8) create a shortcut to that preset on your desktop run (or do something with the same effect - there is a bunch of ways to run a preset) 9) start the game with that link - and use the sixupdater to check for available updates (from time to time - i.e. daily and when you run into issues) detailed video on what to do with sixupdater:

3dp or 3d refers to 3rd person ch refers to the crosshairs that you get when not using the ironsights/scope of your weapon as far as talinkg to everybody on the server is concerned: The game allows it (over ingame voicecom and chat - however talking in global voicecom is generally frowned upon and those options might be disabled serverside) Also giving your position away in global chat is most likely the safest way to get you killed.

1) Name: in the main menu (ingame) is a profile button: click that and create a new profile with the name you want to have. (Note: this will not create a new character it will change the name and appearance of your existing character. You can have only 1 character at any given time (unless you buy multiple copies of the game)). 2) Female chars: currently female characters are at a disadvantage as they cannot wear ghillie/camo outfits and you cant change their skincolor to something that is harder to spot in the woods/fields. 3) Hatchet: by default it is on your toolbelt - if you want to use it as a weapon you need to equip it as your primary (rightclick on the hatchet icon and choose the appropriate option) - however in your case that would mean that your shotgun would need to go elsewhere in your inventory (primary weapons require 10 slots (w/o ammo). You do not need to equip it to gather firewood - you just need to have 2 free slots for the wood. (additional info: secondary weapons need 5 slots (w/o ammo) in case you want to equip your flashlight) 4) dropped items should stay where you dropped them (sometime they glitch due to uneven terrain and similar stuff) 5) never drop anything from your toolbelt (last 2 lines of your inventory) as those are esentially "free" itemslots that you cant put other stuff in anyways.

Dayz is most likely the worst game i know to make new friends in. Imho the most successfull approach is probably to play this with a group of friends that you know from other games and treat any1 that is not part of that group as hostile.

In that case it's not the mod you need the uptodate version of but the arma 2: oa beta patch... make sure you have that included in your six updater preset as well (should be by added by default tho upon adding dayz to the preset) and that the beta patch is displayed as up to date (green). the current versions are: dayz: 1.7.1.5 arma 2: oa beta patch: 1.60.94444 see attached picture for what it should look like

the silenced guns that are in dayz are: silenced M9 mp5sd Bizon M4A1 CCO SD other silent weapons: Crossbow hatchet Crowbar On a different note: when oneshot killed by a longrange sniper shot you will most likely not hear the actual shot because by the time the sound reaches your position you are already dead (as the bullet is supersonic).

are you holding the zoom button (rmb) instead of clicking it maybe?

well you character is not saved on your pc but on the dayz server so as long as you use the same cd key to install your copy of arma 2 oa it should be your old character.

zombies cannot infect you. their is only 1 sort of sickness and that happens when your temp drops too low.

using the six updater is the easiest and safest way to get it running. are you sure you did the "right steps" while using it? detailed step by step tutorial on six updater (there is lots more on youtube)... In the title you said something about incorrect server side - did you try connecting to a server with the up-to-date version as well?

yes temp is your body temperature. The 4th symbol is your body temp as well. It starts out at 42° C if it drops down to 35° C you will get sick and need antibiotics to cure yourself. Apparently you can also infect players close to you. So watch your body temperature. However you should never really drop THAT low. Factors that make the body temp go down: Being outside during: Nighttime Rain Swimming Factors that make the body temp go up (at various rates): Running around Being close to a fire Using a heatpack Being inside a vehicle/building Maybe i forgot one or two but that should be the most important factors influencing whether your body temp goes up or down...

Are we talking about a ~5min timer? This was probably caused by you logging out while being under shock and is working as intended (at least until the timer runs through the first time - you may end up uncounscious a couple of more times after that tho - not sure whether that is wai). To avoid that make sure you never log out while being under shock.

To kill your self hit "esc" and then click "respawn". 5min should be the longest possible duration for the unconscious state (for logging out while being under shock)

you can use "online maps" such as http://www.dayzmap.info (for others google "map dayz" - with loot spawnpoints or "map chernarus" for maps without spawnpoints).

you need arma 2 operation arowhead. To get that there are a couple of options: 1) get arma 2 free and buy arma 2 oa 2) get arma 2 and arma 2 oa seperately 3) get arma 2 co (this is a bundle of arma 2 and arma 2 oa) 4) get an even bigger bundle option 1) does not include the textures with the highest resolution but is the cheapest option. option 3) costs only a few euros more (considereing the special summer sale) and has those textures - so that is probably the way to go if you want to go chec out the game for relatively little money...

yes, your character is bound to your cd key - not the player profile or anything like that... If you want to make a 2nd char you need to buy another copy of the game.
