Aren't you lucky OP, I'm yet to see gear like that. The rarest loot I've seen in game is a M107 and that was on a hacker. -

Doesn't surprise me. Basically make sure you don't crawl near other objects and make sure you don't try and crawl into building or anything really as it can and will kill you.

This has been suggested before and people do like the idea, but I myself are against it. I believe that when you die, you die, there's no controlling zombies etc, you die. This isn't something that I'd expect to happen in Day Z. It doesn't mean it won't happen, but I personally can't see it happening.

I'd like to see something like this implemented, it would be much further down the track though. There's a lot of possibilities that could happen, with winter, in regards to clothing, keeping warm, etc.

Use flares or chemlights or play on a day server or play on a server with moonlight. Simple.

NPC's will never happen. It'd have to be player made.

Hacker or helicopters blowing up can sometimes do it.

Been suggested before. It would be nice to have a bounty system, but I'm not too sure how it would work. Also I'd assume it would have to be player made.

Depending on where I spawn, if I spawn near one of the major cities, I'll try and make my way to there. If I manage to get to one of them, I check the fire stations, supermarkets, corner houses, hospitals, etc. Usually after that I'm all set to go and I can pick up items like matches and maps along my travels. If I don't spawn near a major city, I usually make my way in-land and find gear in barns and dear stands, works out nicely for me. The only problem with doing this is, I'll need to go get medical supplies. -

There are vehicles, quite a few of them. But they are either scooped out quickly by players or abandoned. -

Very good idea, but like you've said is it feasible within Arma's engine and also as much as I'd like to see something like this, it would just be abused. There spawns for chalk would have to be relatively rare in my opinion. -
Not a bad idea, has been suggested before. Would be implemented much more down the line if at all.

A. Bohemia Interactive never made Arma 2 for money, they made a military simulator for a very niche audience, so shut the fuck up. B. Really, how do you know this is the patch that "broke" it for so many people. C. Everyone has to deal with hackers, abusing BI just makes you look like an idiot, but I already gathered that from the intelligence of your posting. D. Yeah, Bohemia Interactive is very clueless, why don't you go work for them and show them how it is done. -
For there to be thousands of players, the map would have to be expanded so much. Also zombies building camps, what? Sigh. I would like to see more team building, like constructing bases, etc, like you've said OP.

Yeah, that could be due to a lot of reasons though. Such as players have killed them, how big the major cities are, etc.

Make Hatchet more readily available as weapon

No, that is a terrible idea. If playing at night is too hard for you either find a day server or adapt and use flares and chemlights or play on a server that has moonlight. Also the reason why it is so hard to switch the hatchet, is the hatchet is the ultimate zombie killing tool, so why should you easily be able to get it out and kill zombies.
