This is good idea to try and encourage team work, but I think taking away hunting knifes and water bottles would do more harm than good. As there's a lot of players that like to play by themselves and live off the wild and if they were forced to go into towns and scavenge for supplies, I don't think that would be the best idea.

I would like to see more bikes and its like most vehicles, people get them when they spawn and horde them away.

Been suggested before, I like the idea of something like this, but at the same time I like having to find a water canteen or some soda cans otherwise I'll die of thirst, sure its not as realistic as it could be, but you know. -
Been suggested before and a gigantic thread was made about it. People even made models for it and offered to give it to Rocket, not sure what came of it.

Or you can band together without having all this stuff to be coded, tested and implemented.

Well zombies were never meant to be in Arma 2 in the first place, so naturally there are going to be some issues. I think an idea like this is better of further down the line, when the servers and the game is optimized more, so more zombies can be on the screen at once.

You've clearly put a lot of effort in for this idea, so you've won yourself some beans sir, have a few questions for you though. A. 100m isn't very far in Arma 2 in terms of weapons range, so he could still technically shoot me, or is that what I'm going to have to risk if I want to make such a venture? B. Would there be a limit on how much you could trade?

In Arma 2, that'd be very hard to implement and it wouldn't worth it. In stand-alone it might be. Personally I don't mind something like this, I just don't know how useful these would be.

No masks, no thanks. No collectible items or any of that. It does not fit with Day Z. -
I agree about spawning with no back pack, but I think it would not work at all if you spawned without any kind of bandages or painkillers, it would put of new players. I want Day Z to be hard and brutal, but you have to let me start with something.

Been suggested before, I like the idea of the water canteens though as it forces you to go actively look for one of them and if you can't find one, you need to get a can of soft drink or you will start to die. -
Good idea, been suggested before. Like others have said though it would be hard to implement and if it were, is it worth it.

Day Z commander works for me to find night time servers?

Come out of the red apartments in Cherno after getting some fairly average loot. Crouch down to look at my bag as I do I see another player looking at prone in the grass. I turn to my left to look at him we both stare at each other for a few seconds, he starts firing at me with his 1911, I start walking towards him and shooting with my Makarov, we get point blank both 1m away from each other shooting at each other, I manage to reload quicker than he does. We both keep shooting, I'm bleeding to death, so is he, I just manage to kill him. I go over and look at what he had, I feast my eyes on a AS50, 1911, Alice Pack, GPS, plenty of ammo, etc. Biggest rush, I'm shaking.
