Like others have said, if you re-log in it may fix it, if not sorry OP, you've experienced the wonders of hacking that is in Day Z. -
No, get near the shore and you'll be able to re-fill it. If I was you I'd try get to an island and do it, as you'll be an easy target if you near the coast.

Because you don't have to worry about hackers on CS:S and even if there was, VAC would ban them or an admin would. -

Yeah, I know what you mean OP. I got in a firefight the other day and me and the player that was shooting at me were like 1m away from each other, both mag dumping our pistols into each other. I just managed to kill him and I checked his body and found an AS50, Alice Pack, GPS, etc. Such a rush. -
Well its the respawn rate, plus people horde them all.

Well there are a fair few vehicles, the problem is, the moment they spawn, people go to them and get them all and then horde them on the map. -

Well, trust is a very finicky thing in Day Z, you have to be extra careful. I have a few rules I like to follow in order to stay alive, I always try and have the advantage over a potential threat and if I get past Stary Sober, I shoot on sight as no-one up there is going to have friendly intentions.

Deer stands I can understand being empty as people look through them quite frequently. Common houses on the other-hand I'm not too sure.

Basically if I tell someone to do something and they don't comply I shoot them, simple as that really.

Yeah I would like to see something like this, either do it with seasons like others have said or perhaps when the map is increased make certain areas of the map snow.

Because you were at a crashed chopper which has some of the best loot in the game, so he didn't want to share it with you and decided to kill you. I'd be very careful when around them next time.
