I'm on a BOAT.. But how do i....
Spartan114 replied to Geckco's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
God. I hope Rocket does something about what happens when you're driving a boat and the server restarts. Bye AS50. -
I'd stay with the M1911. I love that gun to bits. Though it's probably because I'm using a M4 CCO SD, so I have no need for the M9SD's silencer capability. I'd take the 74, even though I hate AK's with a passion, as the shotgun, it just... If you're not in a city, you're gonna get wrecked by anyone with a few hundred metres on you.

Death by cash register. Or that one time I was driving a boat to Skalisty Island and the server restarted while I was a good 1.5km's off the coast. I liked that M4 SD and AS 50 :(

Yeah, but if that looting survivor died, he wouldn't be able to get that bag back, would he? No. Cause he'd be dead.

People who call themselves bandits.
Spartan114 replied to Jackftw's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hey, man! Just wanna say, your youtube videos are what inspired me and my buddies to become a true bandit group, and to deviate from our previous 'shoot on sight' mentality. It's alot more fun than what we were doing originally. And, the AKM is finally useful to me (as a stick up weapon). -

Came across two people looting the NE airfield today. Me and my buddy Tim watched them loot for about 5 minutes, and as they left we popped out and told them to face the wall and drop their weapons. One complied, one tried dodge around the wall and pull up his Remington. He got a round to the leg, and I looted the contents of his Coyote pack while he was unconscious. Tim took the other guys Bizon. Told 'em to run south west and go find some new equipment. They did. Good times. -
AS50 is the only reliable option, imo.

Another QQ Thread or some serious thoughts about other bandits

I have a buddy who snipes at Cherno, and it can be annoying as hell. He goes in there and loses our gear. Hell, he's like a mobile military loot spawn. -
I was searching for some military loot in Balota and was hoping to find some sort of automatic or scoped rifle. I was armed only with my hatchet, and this, being the dawn of my bandit days, meant I still believed in being friendly. I entered the control tower cautiously, looting some STANAG SD mags and putting them in my Patrol Pack. I crept up the stairs into the top floor, and noticed, with a jolt, a prone figure holding a hatchet, just like me. I shouted friendly through voice comms. So did he. I breathed a sigh of relief. I saw a M4 lying next to him, but I just turned away, and said, "You can have it." I was answered with an axe to the back of the knee, then the head. I tumbled down the stairs, unconscious, as the so-called friendly survivor grabbed the M4 and ran. I was lying there, bleeding out, with broken legs and no morphine. I knew what I had to do. Through sheer determination, I crawled for a good hour back into Cherno, to the hospital, to fix my leg. As I entered the town, I heard shots ring out. AK shots. And they were damn close. I rounded a corner, and turned to enter a pub/restaurant. And then I saw him. Alice pack, AKS-74 with Kobra, the works. I had been trying to be friendly, as I said, but right now, my patience had worn thin. The compassionate part of my brain told me to shout friendly. My survival instinct told me to put an axe through his head. And I did. Crawling, legs broken, I swung my axe recklessly at his legs, until I heard a satisfying crunch and the man toppled to the ground, screaming in pain and firing his AK wildly. I swung again, and again, blood spurting out of his corpse until his gun stopped firing. I didn't hear flies. "So, how does it feel?", I thought to myself. I decided to open the mans backpack and snatch some of his morphine, and quickly applied it to myself. I stood up, my leg back in place, and lifted my axe. "Thanks for the meds, buddy" I whispered, as the axe collided into his skull with a crunch.

Kind of like how you can say 'Hello' and ask the weather in normal ArmA. I like this idea, a lot. I avoid regular servers like the plague because I've been killed countless times by snipers who just sweep their cursors across the screen until they see a name. This is also similar to an issue which completely nullifies the usefulness of rangefinders, people just use the scroll menu to find an exact distance.

I'm fairly sure that was a cut in the 3 hours of footage he had.

+1. Lost a AS50 and a M249 today while trying to change my damn view distance. Dammit.

Character Spawns at Previous logout location with previous inventory items

No need for that. -
Spawned. Died. Middle of nowhere. What happened?
Spartan114 replied to catch_22's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
That's true, but it's okay to be just a little annoyed when your days work (or in my case, weeks work) is erased in the blink of an eye. -

Spartan114 replied to catch_22's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Happened to me, 'cept I was on a 7 day character with an M4A3 CCO and An M24. Made me MAD. But, hopefully, this can be fixed pronto, cause now I'm scared to disconnect. -
This happened around 9:20 P.M (ish). I'm in New Zealand, so the timezone is +12 GMT. Me and two of my friends had found a GAZ, and had looted some NVG's and L85's, and we were stoked. We were driving back to camp with all the loot, through Petrovka, out in the ass end of nowhere. In chat, we saw people dieing, including the Admin, Clinton, and his clan/group. We thought that some crazy stuff was happening in Cherno or something. When suddenly, our entire weeks work went up in a huge fireball. A satchel charge. My two buddies died instantly. I got up, somehow with no broken legs, and ran to cover. I heard someone taunting me. Saying, "Awwww, you need help?" I aborted in terror. As I came into the lobby, there were people in the midst of respawning. I grabbed one's attention and asked him how he died. Satchel charges in Vybor, he said. Some one was taunting him, took a whole M16 mag to the chest, and then his group of three was killed. Leveled the entire town. I knew then this was no coincidence. I didn't see the name of the guy who killed us, but almost everyone was dead other than 'Dan', 'Beef', and the Admin. I hope something can be done, we loved our M107s.

Hacker with Satchel Charges on US 136
Spartan114 replied to Spartan114's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
..... You're obviously not reading my posts' date=' are you? Everyone. Died. And that's the first time I've aborted under fire in a very, very long time. Dude, It was scary. I know I did something bad. But goddammit, look at the rest of the post. Ask anyone else in the server at the time. [hr'] Yeah. The stuff can be gotten again, I just don't want this to happen again. -

Spartan114 replied to Spartan114's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I don't think you read my post. Sure, it was bad I aborted. I accept that. But everyone being hit at the same time, by satchel charges? Vybor being leveled by a good 5 charges? That's not legit. -
Yes, yes, and yes. Especially for me, a Veteran Server, uhhh, veteran, I would love to know all the little tidbits of info that would be shown if this idea were implemented. Hell, it might even be helpful on my own kills. If they were well fed, maybe they had a camp nearby. If they were scavenged for items once I get to them, then I might be dealing with a loot ninja, or a second survivor. Brilliant, I'd love this. A solid +1 OP.

It's been Happening to me and my buddies too. Stuff just disappears from our tents, and sometimes they glitch the hell out and duplicate. We've had to move twice. Also, Is there anything to be done about off map hoarding? This group of guys have a chopper and a camp a good 20km's off the edge of the map. It's annoying.
