Its weird. I've experienced this too, where you find loot you don't want (or just cans), then come back HOURS later and its the exact same stuff. I've also come to an area and found nothing but cans in the first building, ran to the next building, then ended up back at the first (aggroed z's or something) and there is new loot in some places. It seems really random sometimes, that or a 3rd party you are unaware of might trigger something. Then, like I said earlier. I've seen a group clear out loot and it re spawn almost instantly right in front of my face. Like literary by the time they (2 man team) got though the first half of the tents in Stary, the loot was already respawning in the tents they cleared out. There were piles of every military gun you could imagine in less than 5 minutes.

I try to avoid servers with over 30-40 people on and stay away from clan servers. I figure no one wants to nuke 18 people when they could get 50+.

I think you made your point man, now you are just trolling. Fell free to make your own thread titled "I think loot farming is cheating, please discuss" Some of us would like to actually take something away from this discussion, and that doesn't mean learning how to "exploit" as you pout it.

"Zombies as they stand are not fun enough to play against for me and cause me to get bored with the game." Some people need to learn how to let go. Are you bored with zombies and just want to kill people? Play Amra2 maybe? New CoD in November? You have to find something new and keep it fresh, or next thing you know you are going to start exploiting the game.. Oh wait.. "I will log out in a place where a weapon can spawn and server hop until I get one."

I joined up with a big group once and they were able to cycle the loot almost instantly. I'm not sure if it was because we had so many people, but they were able to clear out the tents at Stary pretty much non stop, never had to wait for the loot to re spawn. This was with 2 people "looting" and everyone else on over watch. They would just run from tent to tent and by the time they were done the first one would have new loot in it. It would just pop back up right in front of my face as they piled it outside. I'm not really sure how they did it, but it makes any methods listed here seem pretty silly compared to what I saw. Is it possible for the server owners to somehow increase the loot timer maybe?

So true. I just saw a car with 2 people in it and its amazing how something so simple can be so epic. The moment I heard the engine coming, the second I saw them and dropped to the ground, and when I ran away looking over my shoulder every 5 seconds.. It was all just awesome. Even after I was clear of danger my hand didn't stop shaking for a couple minutes. I don't think a game has ever done that to me. I can only imagine what the people at the NW airfield were thinking when I drove my old car around on the runways blasting the horn. I hope whoever stole it has some fun and doesn't just park it behind a tree forever. Sometimes you have to do more than just survive in this game, you have to LIVE! Quit being scared to drive your car around.

Found my first in a outhouse, and just found a 2nd in someones parked van. So now I have 2 :) But no friends :(

Can't ESP only find cars also? Another reason to keep these FAR apart. You also have to figure once you have a car, searching nearby is even easier. I have to say though, I have looked at the Chernarus map many times wondering where a good place to hide a base is, just so I could go look there. The better your hiding spot, the easier it is for someone to find.. If that makes any sense.

Bump. Besides OP I only see 2 people saying this did anything for them.. Granted I don't see anyone saying it did nothing. Anyone else try this out and how did it work out for you?

"F" key. Look in the top right corner and text should change every time your press it. It toggles between throwing items and (for some guns) switches between full auto/burst fire.

I like what your trying to do here so I will give your server a shot tonight. Don't think I really need anything ATM but thanks for the offer. I do play late night/early morning so I usually have to jump servers, but if I like what I see I will make it my home daytime server. What's your group like? Are you friendly or if I spot you or should I watch out? I don't mind ether way, just nice to know.

So proof doesn't matter? You guys won't/can't ban people no matter what? We should really spread the word, because right now any new player searching these forums might think cheating is actually punished in this mod.

I knocked down a few tents by bumping into them.. Came back a few days later and they were back up, in the same exact spot, with the same loot in them.

So what happens when you spawn right behind someone? Shooting him is cheating, DCing to avoid him shooting you is cheating.. Are you just going to stand there and hope he never turns around, then if he does let him kill you to be fair.. I doubt it.

Why not just hack in everything you need.. Why would anyone care if you don't magically win with them. /sarcasm

I remember watching my first YouTube videos of this game, it looked like so much fun doing stuff that didn't just involve mindless PVP, which I just considered a bonus to the game at the time.. Stuff like: Grouping up with people and killing zombies Finding a car and fixing it up Driving around exploring the map This stuff doesn't seem to exist anymore, because there is just a 90% chance you are getting shot if you happen to try any of these things. I think that's something the vets of this game will NEVER get. You got to experience this stuff already because the first few weeks of this game were not mindless killing madness, of course your bored with it. So even if we fixed any and all problems with having a couple non-PVP servers, you guys would still find some excuse to bitch because it doesn't interest you. Its like a rookie QB saying he wishes he could go back to collage to get more practice, and the hall of fame players looking at him all confused. Then hating him and being disgusted by his wacky idea they don't agree with.

There is a good point for the "I just want to kill people now" crowd. There are thousands of other games where your goal is to do just that, including the game you are playing this mod on. What makes DayZ so special?

Find a town. Look for a road or power lines, then follow them. They always lead somewhere. You will reach a town eventually, then read the road sign and try to find it on the map. Or if you can't do that log out and back in and see what it says in the bottom right corner.

You do realize that there are like 15 tents right? That's 30 total loot spots in one VERY small area. It beats every other town and airfield (besides NW of course). It still beats a single barracks if you don't count the special loot you can get there. Plus there are like 8 deer stands very close by.
