This is really odd, but a few of my friends have two instances of the same character on different servers. All the servers we join are Hive connected and official, but it's 50/50 that whether they log on the character is their main playing character, or anothe one that they sometimes log on with. IE. They would be playing on server X and have some amount of new gear. Then they log on to server Y and they spawn at the coast with nothing (Even though it's an official server). So they head back to us, get some new gear and then we change to server A. Once we are on server A, they would have the same gear as they did on server X. Then when we go to server B they would have the same gear as server Y. This would all happen over the course of a day or over many days. Anyone know what's going on? It seems every time there is an update, more and more problems appear.

That's very useful. How do you discover what servers are in which group?

I found an m4a1 holo in a car - It's not legitimate is it? (Just confirming before I spadazzle it...)

I took the car, I meant the gun. Oh well, it's gone now. Probably wouldn't have ever used it anyway - have more guns than an army could shoot already.

The pitched tents should loot after a server restart. If the tent owner dies you have to make sure they are used every few days to stop them despawning. Unpacked tents have a fixed spawn rate in residential spots and are a rare find. Somone has probably just beaten you to finding them. Try looking on night servers where it's less likely someone has recently looted supermarkets/ high yield houses

I've been playing this game for months nearly and have been to GM several times and nothing bad has ever happened. Is this just another Loch Ness monster?

Not everybody has steam and steam doesn't always do what it's meant to (as ODoyleRulez has proven) Make sure you are checking the integrity of the cache and/or reloading/reinstalling the Arma2: OA DLC nor Arma 2. Also check it's from the right account.you are doing it from. If you complete a fresh install of the second copy of the game (IE remove all traces of Arma2: OA first copy, including steam files before reinstalling) then the key will definitely change.

Hey - thanks for the tip. With two accounts it's not as difficult though "Account1" and "Account2" is enough for me :P

I've been playing the game for over a month now, so I do understand how it all works - but my character has been in shock for ages. Last night I broke my legs because I glitched in a car, which knocked me out and put me down to 8k health. I've since eaten to full health and been playing for hours, but whenever I disconnect I'm always greeted by the long countdown timer (symptom of shock). Any idea why this is and how I can fix it? Those unsure of what I mean by shock, look at this

You have to double tap "W" to start sprinting (primary weapon will be swinging side to side in your arms instead of pointing down). Hunger/Thirst are factors

DayZ commander will tell you the in-game time for a lot of the servers.

1) Always be cautious of things that start with "apparantly" 2) Server Admins have no ingame powers whatsoever 3) You probably stumbled into a trap. Vehicles are seldom unattended 4) I've played on LU16 a lot and I can vouch for the owners 5) Be more cautious next time

My L85s still work normal - one mode is regular NV and the other is thermal with red=cold, white = hot
