    More characters

I'd have to go against this. One of the best aspects of this game is that you connect with your character very quickly, because he has only one life. Look at it this way, when people play FPS online shooters like Battlefield, they don't care about dying. The simply reason is that in 15 seconds you can spawn again, and you lose nothing but a statistic. Adding another character to DayZ would have a similar effect - granted this would not be on the same scale. I can already see it now: "Pay just £40 for DayZ Premium and have three characters slots instead of one."

    different "roles"

It's a nice idea, but it could be argued that this would take the game down a more traditional MMO route. I think the great thing about this game, is that you are able to carve your own identity, therefore you create your own class depending on how you want to play. Should you wish to become a doctor? Then you go around healing people. Should you wish to become a taxi driver? Then you offer people rides in exchange for money. I think this had already been suggested, but the idea of a default diary - that all players start with - is a great idea. If people really wanted to get into the game, they could make up there own back story and then should they ever be killed, the killer will be able to see what they were/had become. Personally, this is better than any kind of class system - the idea that you create your own class, rather than a pre-defined one.

    Military barricade in Cap golova

It's a shame there is so much focus on your clothing and apparent item 'duping', because the idea itself is really good. Having seen a few interviews with Rocket, it would seem that this sort of behaviour is exactly what he was hoping would happen. He mentioned that the next stage survivors could take after getting good equipment, would be to create safe havens like this. I guess this is the first stage of fortifications that have so far been implemented. I don't see what the real problem is here, i'd rather see the wire/tank traps used in this way as opposed to some idiot blocking up buildings. Good work.
  4. I've spent the last two months watching endless amounts of videos and forum posts about this game, and I finally think it's time to bite the bullet. My current PC - a 6-year-old machine that used to struggle to run BF2 on the lowest of settings - stands no chance of running ARMA2. Obviously I need an upgrade. My question to the people here is: How much would I having to fork out for a computer that is powerful enough to run this game? In fact, one that would be powerful enough to run ARMA3 (in case the mod decides to shift over). Optimist
  5. I'll take a look this weekend and hopefully see you all online sometime soon...
  6. Cheers for the advice all. This is really cheap build (compared to what I had in mind), if it's good I might go with something similar. And no, i'm not updating just for the mod. My current PC can barely handle a word document these days and the screen can send you off on an epileptic fit through the way it flickers and flashes (a graphic card problem I assume). It just so happens to be that DayZ is the kick over the edge I need to get a new comp! :exclamation:
  7. My current one really is a piece of junk. My current graphics card is the ancient GeForce 6200, and the rest I can't recall. I've been away from PC gaming for a few years now, so my knowledge on what is considered good/bad etc has fallen dramatically. The building aspect wouldn't be a problem.
  8. So after a few weeks of stalking the forums and watching/reading far too many videos/interviews i've decided to sign up to the forums. I don't even own a copy of this game, in fact my computer can't handle anything more advanced that BF2, but just reading these forums has proven to be just as entertaining. Just want to say that it seems as though Rocket is onto something pretty special, and you guys - the players - seem to have formed one hell of a community.
