OP said trade store, meaning permanent location. So why wouldn't you ambush it while a trade was going on? If its worth trading, it's worth stealing. -

The reason you can't have anything good is because it takes work. You can't have someone in charge who quits when it gets hard to do something. -
Curious what you guys think about weapons breaking? I feel that there needs to be some type of attrition on weapons so that someone doesn't just find a sweet gun and never need an alternative unless they're killed. I like the thought that even people who have lived 90 days still may need to search for items that have broken. Obviously weapon life and chance to break would need balances and I lean towards a very long weapon life, but I'm curious about other thoughts so I wanted to ask.

I'd be ok with repair kits. I'm all for more content. I'm just trying to think of a way to prevent weapon inflation. There should be a mechanic that keeps the amount of super high teir weapons in check. I don't want to penalize players who find an amazon weapon, but id like to eventually get that weapon out of circulation.

I don't agree. I think that legit players very rarely stoop to hacking because they've been killed by hackers. I think that the game being the hottest FOTM game has something to do with the large hacker population. -

I didn't suggest this due to realism at all. Maybe my gun got infected by the zombie outbreak and is slowly dying without eating brains does that fit the dayz realism for you? Also you guys can take the m16 cockfight somewhere else, we really don't care either way.

Your negative attitude is a pity and there are already trading based groups ingame. Edit: I'll also mention there are taxi and medical services also. Just because you think it's a mindless KOS-fest doesn't make it true. -

I like this idea for a couple different reasons. 1) it's post apocalypse, so cleaning your weapon likely isn't easy 2) it creates a higher attrition on weapons in the game. I feel the game needs a way to get rid of accumulated weapons other than being lost on dead bodies. A weapon "sink" so to speak 3) I like the thought of players who have lived a very long time to still have somewhat of a constant need for loot. Edit: I guess more worn weapons could be more prone to jamming. Also realism isn't really the driving factor that lead me to this idea, I realized that the only way a weapon gets deleted or lost is usually on a dead body that isn't looted and realized that it means that higher tier weapons would never get left behind and crappy weapons would, meaning that better weapons accumulate in the game while worse weapons get recycled.

They were probably just killed by someone with better gear and didn't need the loot. A lot of people don't hide bodies, which is weird to me especially when they have good gear. -
