The front page logo needs to be changed then :P. If everyone is concerned about the authenticity of the infected lore then make it so the virus/infection they have also makes them regenerate their organs from a mutation within the brain from the virus/infection.

Your emphasizing way to much on the story and lore part of the game right now. This being a game and not real life. All I'm thinking about is the gameplay and more fear of the Zeds. Lore is important in games and so is story but we have absolutely no say to what the Zeds are. Humans with a rage virus that went psycho or back from the dead it doesn't matter because the dev team decides what they are, not us.

We have the infected filled towns and now infected straying away and out of the towns to populate a larger area. I love this with the new update because before it was only really dangerous in the towns, now we have them in the fields but I'm here to propose a concept/mechanic. The idea in short is to have random or scripted roaming zombie horde(s) of lets say 30+ zombies throughout the map. Why should this idea should be thought of and attempted to at least a test or implementation? 1. Players no longer can just think of some areas as zombie safe zones. This will shake things up and make the player never know when a zombie threat or situation will occur which adds even more diversity to the game. 2. Setting up camp will be harder and big groups will have to think of way to defend if a horde comes. 3. Bandits will have more to think about than just players to kill and loot 4. If a group is staying in one area the horde will make them change positions. 5. It adds to the experience. What are your thoughts on this?

Ha I did that as well but it almost crashed the server. Was curious to how many zombies i could gather when heading back to my group and by the time I got to the we all had to leave the server because of the mass horde I gathered. But other than gathered this is the most zombies I have encountered just walking about in one area.

Where did I ever say anything about realism? Please show me. When your talking about people being butthurt you call them zombies but you say they are just like humans. You are all over the place man. You start of with nothing yes. Its not hard to hit them in the head with a melee weapon though. I want the zombies to be more of an effect on our psyche. I want us to fear them more and actually have to survive against zombie and not the players.

I don't know. A part of me agrees with part of what your saying but the other part says that zombies need to be harder to kill in the open field.As of now running up a steep hill gives us that chance to take a shot and kill a few zombies.

Did you just like your own post? I do agree with the pathing needing to be fixed but not the speed. If anything I want the speed to be faster than the player so you can't outrun them forever. Like a build up to top speed..

I would like to come across a NPC that is like the merchant in Resident Evil 4. Just make it so if you harm him or kill him you will get punished somehow.

Think of when you get them into a building. They basically turn into harmless little slow walking trees that are killed very easily.

Sorry I should have worded it "Thats how you kill zombies MOST of the time anyway" Strategically this is what the majority of people do, use buildings. I do not care about realism, I care about gameplay.

Never wanted this to be realistic. Thinking of pure gameplay and this is a way to make the Zed/Infected harder to kill and more feared.

Thats how you kill zombies now anyway. I never called them zombies, I used the general term Zed/Infected.

That and with the amount of bullets you can find for the makarov makes it one of the best zombie killing guns. I love the gun fr that reason and like you said, not hard to get headshots.

Just make it so you have to headshot the zombies to kill them. Solves everything.

This is a very bad idea. No offense, everyone has one. This will take away from everything DayZ is meant to be. A game where you choose how to play and although I dont like the classes Idea. What would work is a experience system where if you will become more proficient and can use more advanced gear as you gain experience and become a veteran.

Whenever I see someone running and they have no clue I am there I will - Not take a shot and ignore them - Give them a warning shot - Move to a different area - Try to get close and communicate without them noticing me Unlike you and 90% of the population on this game I treat other players as actual human beings trying to survive in a fucked up world.
