    Why on earth would anyone want PVP turned off? It wouldn't be the same game then, at all. I'm not a PKer, but i wouldn't want that element removed from the game, not being a PKer, i tend to skulk around solo in the smaller far north towns. I am keeping my contact with other players to a minimum, but its the most exciting part of the game. Sneaking into a town, you know theres going to be zombies, but the real adrenaline rush in this game is when you hear close gunfire there. Maybe rocket should let that single player version continue so all the pussies can play eleswhere.

    You know that lovely state when your in bed half asleep half awake and thinking about Day Z, I just had this idea that might add a little something to those who have been alive over a week or something, though i'm sure its probably been suggested elsewhere, a set of skills. Nothing too WoW, not like specializations, skills everyone can get, like maybe the 'woodsman' skill or achievement, when youve harvested 250 wood or something wood could only take up one slot or you can harvest without the hatchet, probably a bad example. How about 'cook' after youve cooked 200 bits of meat, you get the cook skill and meat gives 1000 or 1200 instead of 800. I'm sure theres a lot of other little things you could reward. They would obviously all be reset upon death.

    Good suggestion Breakingbad, all the maps ive used, online and apps, have never differentiated between enterable church and scenery church. Saying that, the reddish churches with some little stairs and a porch at the back sometimes have good loot there. On proper O/S maps they use different symbols for different styles of church, ie church with a steeple etc. How about square with a cross coming out the top means enterable church, circle with a cross coming out the top means un-enterable?

    Adding to the corpse-less flies debate .... I was playing with my brother last night, we were in a red brick house, the one with the little staircase to the blocked door. I had aggro'd a few and was having no problem sitting at the top of the stairs picking them off as they came in. My bro came in after I had finished them off, so I thought anyway, he was doing some bag juggling at the bottom of the stairs when he gets one hitted by a zed, from 12k blood to passed out with a broken leg in one hit. I think i had alt-tabbed or was bag juggling myself anyway i couldnt save him in time, the one hit killed him. No biggie, i will wait here by your body till you get back, i think we were only one or two towns up from the coast. I went down the stairs, looked out of one of the doors, turned round and his body and all his gear had gone. No zeds around, no other players and a couple of days worth of gear gone in a fly ridden flash.

    I'm in agreement with the last few posters on this, i think the game should really try to foster a sense of community and team spirit, but not to force it. You can still be a bandit and treat it like a deathmatch if you want, but there should be more of a focus on making teams/groups. In a real outbreak/doomsday scenario, i know i would be the kind of person who would want a good sized group and i would treat everyone as a potential ally unless they gave me immediate reason to think otherwise. Saying that, my current play style tends to just be mr solo, mostly down to the fact my IRL player friends don't get to play that much. I never kill on sight and since the leg breaking every ten steps ive noticed a lot less killing on sight. I've handed out loads of morphine to random strangers because i think thats so screwed at the moment that we all have to look out for each other a bit more. I would like that kind of attitude to stay if possible. I dont have any suggestions as to how to do this, but i thought i'd chip in as we're all just chatting shit to pass the time till the update :)

  10. Two things in the name of realism Load out. How about you spawn with a random load out? Never anything too fancy, or maybe you could it make it a 0.0001% chance you spawn with a near military kit, but if maybe two or three times in ten you spawn with a makarov, 1 mag, a few tins and a bandage, sometimes a bag, sometimes not, perhaps make a melee a common, but not guaranteed start item, i think always a watch though (they're almost useless and theyre taking up valuable supermarket space). It would give a bit of intrigue and something to look forward to and to take a bit of the kick out of dying by gate or toilet or some other bug. It would be cool playing with mates when dying 'what did you get dude?' 'shit all, a torch and an empty water bottle, how about you?' 'a makarov with the wrong ammo'. Also, if the zombie apocalypse kicked off, some people would be able to put their hands on more survival gear at short notice than others, but most peoples load out/ bug out bag would be a mish mash of whatever they thought might be useful on day one when they fled the 'event' Food spawns. In the name of realism I think there should be food in almost every enter-able residential spawn. If people had fled the place in a hurry or turned then there would be tons and tons of food and water everywhere. I don't suppose there is a realistic, engine wise, way to make the total food on a server decrease over a longer period of time perhaps. edit: just thought about random load out respawning, it would be super exploitable, because people would just keep respawning till they got a kit they were happy with, its the same issue as server hopping and respawning to find a good spot, if that could be stopped this could be done. Something that might help is a respawn penalty, if you hit the respawn button without dying you have a five min wait? It would stop respawning to find a good place and potentially a number of other bugs/exploits

    Its a good thing when, say, you are carrying a winny with 4 lots of shells, you find an AK with three mags, you pick up the AK and you drop the winny and all its ammo, saves you pissing about moving one ammo at a time to a loot pile. The only time its a pain in the ass for me is if i want to keep a winny clip or two just in case, then i just put a couple of spare from the new pile on the floor in my bag. Adding stuff to the toolbelt and it dropping ammo is a bug, i was agreeing with you, i was just saying because i think someone thought it was the Arma thing ive just described. Its not, the dropping random stuff when something goes into the tool belt is since 1.7.1.2 i think and i knows its not the Arma weapon swap thing, because you will often drop more than one kind of ammo, or something will drop from your main inventory and your sidearm inventory. Maybe its related to the Arma feature and some of the new melee code is confusing the engine, making it think youre picking up two kinds of weapon and so its dropping what it thinks you don't need.

    Its not strictly true that it only drops ammo from a gun you don't have kind of thing. Thats always been there and although its sometimes a little annoying, on the whole its a good thing. Something that definitely has started since melee weapons have been added is dropping of stuff when picking up something that goes in the toolbelt, but i can't say 100% that its only stuff that goes in the toolbelt that does it.

    I say leave the sound as is in fog. I do like the idea of making other ambient sounds go, but seeing it from a realism standpoint, its a bit daft. Saying that, it is still a game and if it adds to the creepiness it would add more immersion. Which can only be a good thing.

    Christ knows, i missed a couple of versions when the thread got lost, 1.4 worked a dream, having a few freezing issues with 1.5 though. Edit: freezing and crashing issues seem to be happening when you try and use one of the close up city maps, not every time though. My little brother is also mad to keen to have a go of the ios version, keep up the god work dude :)
  19. Loving it, best its been so far. Saying that, some major problems I feel, i think most have been said, zombies either need not hit so hard or have more morphine around. I liked the suggestion someone made of a break like injury or sprain that is only temporarily debilitating, but still instantly fixable with the right loot. Zombie senses/noise made while moving is almost perfect, that coupled with being able to lose them if something goes wrong is exactly what the game needed. Still experiencing some problems with endless zombie waves and them spawning very close, but its rare enough not to be a major issue. Also to save us all typing the same thing over and over on these rolling release/bug report threads have two polls on the first page, one for reporting issues and one for suggestions/improvements/rants on the new elements of the release. Two questions, are you experiencing any of these issues? if not add it as a poll option. What should be changed improved, if its not here add it. Rocket and co would get the visual data of what bugs are more prevalent and the mood and reaction to changes and we would all have to wade through less bullshit as anything repeated would be deleted. You could also encourage everyone to fill in the bug report poll after theyve played the new patch when you close the 'pending release' thread so many of us are always hanging on.
