I think its useful to have VPope lay that out, and whilst it is good to have the server admin state that that is how it operates, I must point out that the main concern is that the server stays locked with the same players for a very extended period. Maybe that is something he should look at, as has been pointed out by Griff a period of longer than 20 minutes should be considered unreasonable. If theres one thing that changes on UK3 because of this thread then I think that should be it. And yes Griff, I was quoting your post to make that point, but you are a bit late making the point about rudeness as it has been going on since page 1! Im not pointing fingers because im as baitable as the next person. This forum currently has 900 connects in the last 15 minutes -There are influential boards in the PC gaming community that have a quarter of that number and are way more heavily admined. Anyway, job done I think as regards this particular topic. Lets get back to enjoying the game.

Agreed, this needs a client fix where you persist in the world after losing connection for a set amount of time. Something we will have to put up with until they get around to it.

I think the devs eyes are elsewhere currently, busy time for them, so this sort of nonsense goes unpunished... for now. Rocket has said something about rogue servers but I suppose for now its just grin and bear these guys and bad luck if you run into them or their plentiful hardware on your server.

Look this is pointless. Stop trying terrible excuses for every point, 40 people on a server, you kick everyone except clan mates, lock server, private playground. This can go on all week, just stop doing it or stage gradual entry over a reasonable 5-10 minutes and nobody needs to report anything, this thread dies, your server isnt culled when he gets round to it. Everyone will be happy.

Complete nonsense. The server was locked with 6 people for bloody ages last night - if that was traffic management what were you waiting for to let the next six in? Hopefully, this now wont happen again. You should respect the spirit of the mod or else go and play a game where this nonsense doesnt matter.

OK so you let 6 in for an hour and a half and then everyone else in one go... good throttling, strange it wasnt mentioned previously. Anyway, this is going round in circles, its an issue that Rocket has said he will look at in the future so there is nothing to do but point it out when it happens. You guys enjoy your server.

As long as your server isnt locked so the admin and friends can loot gear (cough) I look forward to adding it to the long list of servers i queue up for and never get into ;) Good on you for supporting the mod.

I think everyone needs to relax a bit. Ive found it quite humorous we ahve gone from too few zeds to too many! Hopefully this is just the next step to just the right amount!

retarded, I thought there was a rule against these types of private servers. If not, let me know, ill hire one out and just have people from ocuk on it, which would be totally anti the spirit of the game, just like this.

IMHO the map is fine. Lets not have one of those ga,es where the devs feel the need to fill every square inch with a mob. The map feels desolate, just right for a post apocalyptic world. If you want action 24/7 youre in the wrong game, there are lots of those type, just thinking of zombie games left4dead springs to mind.

Noticed a huge improvement in speed accessing the threads on this forum. Please God tell me its not a temporary thing and this means theyre getting a handle on the main db server too :heart:

Great job, but over the last couple of days there's been a lot of 'what was the fuss about' happening because of the inability to log and the low zombie/spawn counts. please fix soon! BI should give Rocket like a super bonus.

70 zombies on EU5 tonight at 11.40 GMT. I know server restarts et al... but hope its fixed in the next patch.

I cant say for sure, but i suspect during busy times the master server is having a job trying to sort out your information to pass t0 the server you are trying to connect to. This is why if you wait long enough you will spawn into a forest carrying nothing at all - thats when the master server has failed to pass the info so the server so you just get spawned anyway. That was how it was explained to me last night. Best option - hop servers, try another one. With the amount of people trying to get in and the number of servers, realistically in peak time, youre going to have to be lucky to get in within a couple of hours. Also remember there are US and UK peak times and all the hours inbetween are european peak times etc. so cross your fingers and be lucky or try servers with a higher ping. tldr: master server is getting hammered, doesnt pass your data to the server youre trying to join. Try again until die of thirst.
