Someone by the name of Fraser openly admitted to using scripts to both; kill all of the people on the server and spawn vehicles. I don't necessarily have proof, as I wasn't able to take a screen shot, however, there are bound to be others who were on the server at the time when he was scripting.

Arma update nerfed revolver?
InbredScorpion (DayZ) replied to daze23's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I shot two people twice with the Lee Enfield. Neither one of them died. Damage from guns got nerfed somehow. I've got the same problem with the M1911. -
thoughts from a brand new player on how to make this more fun for new people
InbredScorpion (DayZ) replied to 343guiltyspark's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
There are a few reasons why people head to the big costal towns. I generally try to spawn as close to Chernogrosk and Elektrozavodsk because of the fact that I can get at least an ALICE pack, a decent gun(s) and some toolbelt items. This is all enhanced by the fact that when I spawn I have the "who the fuck cares if I die, I've got nothing on me". It's fucking near impossible to get to some of the more inland towns (i.e. Stary|Novy Sobor) without at least a compass and some of other basic provisions. I know how to deal with the zombies in those towns, and on the off chance that a player sees me, I am either going to run the fuck away, shoot, or just part on neutral terms. What drift0r did wrong in that video was crawl to the fire station. If zombies are there, give them the slip and try again. -
Blood transfusion - how exactly does it work
InbredScorpion (DayZ) replied to Proceed (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
It's a pretty easy system. Just give them the bag of blood. The easiest way to do this would be to open their bag and then placing in there to avoid any glitches by dropping the bag on the ground (and make sure they have room in said bag). Next tell them to get the bag into their "main" inventory, and just scroll wheel to apply transfusion. -
Petition to spawn with a weapon!

Sorry, nope. Part of the thrill at the start of the game is the feeling of not being able to simply pull out a gun when you fuck up your looting. -
Case for Clothing System (and supplemental add ons)
InbredScorpion (DayZ) replied to Zefoxe's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Whilst I don't think the first idea would work too well mostly due to the fact that, it would be insanely difficult to make a system where clothes slowly degrade, and different clothing being too small/large, et cetera. I do like your idea for the whole needing a jacket to keep warm (assuming temperature ever gets to a state where I am not at a brain-melting fever constantly). Overheating is a little bit extreme, it'd take a lot more to overheat. Maybe your thirst decreases as you continue to run. ----------------------------------- The problem with this I have is that it would require an entirely new game mechanic (smell). -
Okay, so the title pretty much explains this post. If this isn't a server issue, and something else, then I am sorry for posting in the wrong section (however this seems like a server issue, most likely someone hacking) It all started when I spawned at my camp on Lesnoy Khrebet, at this point my tent was missing however I might have been on the wrong server. When running around the mountain attempting to find the tent I hear the sound of what I presume to be a jet overhead and the server message "The British are coming! All hands on deck!". No idea what it might be, I walk around to see if anything interesting was going on around the area. During which my camera went into first-person like I had changed clothes. I checked my clothes, and I was now wearing a beret and a headset type thing. There was nothing there, so I decide to take my newly acquired DMR to Novy Sobor and see if anyone was there. However, on my way there, there as a large amount of black smoke. I decide to investigate as I think to myself it might be a heli-crash site. However, as I get closer I notice another black smoke location, not to far away from Stary Sobor. Seeing as that one is a little safer (as it wasn't as close to town as the Novy Sobor one) I started running to it when my suspicions where confirmed it was a downed helicopter. However, this helicopter didn't look like the ones in the pictures, and there was zero loot around them. I head to the Novy Sobor one when the same thing happened. I then proceeded to run back to Stary Sobor in order to do a quick run of the military tents, however I suddenly head gunfire. As I approach Stary from the NW, I spot a SUV. Sussing out the area, there was no one around. I quickly dash to the car and notice that it's almost fully fuelled and repaired. I drive off without anyone noticing. However, I jumped out of the car and am talking to my friend about my recent discovery. I then checked the map, and upon exiting, the car disappeared. I then ran around searching for the car, maybe it glitched out or something. Running along, I hear the sounds of jets flying overhead, however this time I see it. I decide to follow the jets, in vain. It then literally begins to rain jets, behind the flying jets, killing me, and from what I could see in the text down the bottom, a lot of other people. I attempted to respawn and it appears the server went down, and upon connecting to another server, I have indeed died. So that's my story of some of the crazy shit that went down. Any explanations?

The zombies need to be more dangerous.
InbredScorpion (DayZ) replied to switch296's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree with this for the most part however there needs to be a sense of balance. Simply put zombies are an inconvenience. The simple strategy is; Run through the town, aggro zombies, pick them off in a building, medicate wounds if need be, rinse and repeat. I mean the only time zombies are a threat is when I've fired something other than my sidearm in the middle of a town, and anything and everything within a 50km radius starts converging in on my location. Breaking my legs is annoying, but is getting patched thankfully. I like the idea of more than one shot to the body to kill, using the revolver or M1911 cuts through zombies like a hot knife through butter. Personally, I'd like them to simply shuffle within areas, however have the zombie count increase by an arbitrary value (ten-fold for instance). The real threat then becomes escaping and ammo. TL;DR Yeah, I agree with this idea, zombies aren't that much of a threat. -
Okay, so from what I've seen this game obvious tries to employ a sense of realism, and I am having a lot of fun playing this, however, there a few things that I'd add (or more or less, see what others have to say about my suggestions for game content). 1. Water and sea-water: So up until (from what I've read) sea water was undrinkable in 1.5.8, which makes sense, because well, drinking sea water dehydrates you, and eventually you'll die. However, I think sea water should still be collectable, not drinkable. This way, sea water stored in a canteen can be boiled in order to remove the salt and then drunk safely. Although, technically not how it really work, but it's something. Maybe include the need to cover it with a sheet or something similar. (Not to sure if the salt left over could have a use? Maybe to preserve raw meat? I don't know.) 2. Kevlar/ballistic vest: I am not sure if this idea would work, specifically due to the fact that it would probably make the game unbalanced (in the higher skilled players favour), as this would make bandits and other high skilled players even harder to kill. The original idea was that it would reduce the amount of damage that FIREARMS, and firearms only, would deal (by an arbitrary amount), as well as only protecting from body shots, allowing head shots to insta-kill the person. The suit itself would be degraded after usage (i.e. being shot), and eventually, will just break. (It should also be mentioned that the intent was for this item to be rare, something at the rarity levels of NVG's, and can only be found in similar areas) 3. More complexity in blood transfusion: Let's face it; the current blood transfusion is pretty darn simple, just get another person to walk up to you and start doing things. However, in order to make it more complex, or harder, would be to add blood types. Everyone has heard of the standard (and most common out of the literal 100 or so ways of blood grouping) ABO grouping. With AB being the universal recipient and O being the universal donor. So, in the debug monitor (next to blood or something) should be the players blood type. This would also mean including, blood bags of the corresponding blood types, A, B, AB and O. Giving a player with blood type A, a blood bag containing blood type B, would result in a negative effect, e.g. unconsciousness. Giving a player with any blood type, a blood bag containing blood type O would work, however, realistically, blood type O is the rarest, and should follow suit. As well as this, the more transfusions you have over a frequent period of time increases the chances of a bad reaction to transfusion (a small %, but a chance nonetheless) Those are my ideas. I'd like to get some constructive criticism or just general feedback on those ideas, if you have any (esp. on that last one).

Less weapon spawn + no starter weapon = GG
InbredScorpion (DayZ) replied to herd's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Okay, from what I've read from your aforementioned posts, you're personally an arrogant/pretentious twat. So, systematically, let's form a rebuttal! 1. - "How the fuck zombies break you LEGS ? In one hit ? Very realistic." Okay, this is one of the few points I'd agree with. If someone was attacking me/mostly clawing me, I wouldn't suffer broken legs, esp. after one hit. So, point to you for that. It's annoying, it might be tweaked later, however, complaining about how unrealistic it is, for a game, isn't going to help shit. 2. - "- I cant enter every building? Very realistic." Okay, go code, texture, design and implement your own game and house model, you little fuck? It's a long and arduous task that can be done, when the developer has the time. If you don't like that the game has limitations, then don't play it, or at least, stop complaining about it. You could realistically rationale that some of the houses are locked/barricaded, and are therefore, not accessible. 3. - I can die and respawn? WHAT ? Very realistic. It's a game. If perma-death was active per server, I'd have a game where I geographically get 20 lives. 4. - I cant have my main weapon on my back while using melee weapons ? Very realistic. Okay, this might be true, but guns and hatchets are rather heavy. A counter balance could be that your aim or swing speed is impaired, either way. It's not great, but give Rocket a break. He implemented the melee weapons just about a week ago. 5. - I am bleeding from one hit from the zombie to death ? Very realistic. If I clawed you, good chance you'd start bleeding. And if I happened to severe your radial, or cartoid artery, you'd bleed out in the space of one minute. So, it's not realistic, but if it was, a lot of people would be dead. Fast. 6. - There are no useable cars in the apocalypse ? Very realistic. There are cars/boats/helicopters (really one one helicopter actually). However, there is no back story to the game. If the zombie apoc. was caused by nuclear warfare, then the resulting electro-magnetic pulse from the detention from said nuclear weapons, would wipe out almost every single vehicle, and other electronic source. Not realistic, but it's something. 7. - There are no weapons in the whole cherno ? Very realistic. There are weapons. Look for them. The advice I give to anyone looking for weapons in Cherno or Elektro, is -search the fire station(s)-. General military loot almost always spawns there (assuming it hasn't been looted already, which, is a realistic situation, btw (not the military grade loot in fire stations, the looting)) There are guns in the church, hotels, occasionally the office bulildings, city hall, supermarket. You just have to be patient and loot carefully. 8. - Zombies dont have any loot apart from b beans or coke? Very realistic. You're right. Zombies shouldn't have any loot. Think about it. Say you become a zombie. What do you have on you? A wallet, phone, watch, the clothes on your back, et cetera? So maybe the rate the watch occurs could increase (despite the already, grossly high rate of spawning). What good is a wallet in the zombie apoc. there is no need for currency, et cetera, nor is your phone (esp. if you conform with my reasoning for limited vehicles.) 9. - I can run for hours w/o being tired? Very realistic. True. That could be tuned down a little, but still, in the space of 255km^2, it'd be a bit more than annoying to have to take a break every so often, but I'd be cool if that changed, it just mean that I'd have to vary gameplay. 10. - Zombies dont die frmo hunger? Very realistic. From*. Also. THEY'RE FUCKING ZOMBIES?! What more do you expect? Okay, they can eat each other, they can eat you, you won't die (in real life) of malnutrition for about a week or so. Zombies only have basic functions. And. It's a game. 11. - People shooting everyone on sight? Very realistic. People shoot each other NOW, due to petty reasons. Religion, resources, personal issues. And you're trying to tell me, a game, that is trying to represent a situation, in which the people are being in a high stress, post apocalyptic, war zone with limited supplies, and no chance of escape off the small island, situation, and people are going to skip around offering each other tea. Okay, there might be a little more mob mentality, that's it. Humans a selfish creatures, who's goal is to get the greatest rewards for the least amount of effort. Shooting people is easy, and taking their stuff is the reward. That's realistic. Live with it. There is nothing inherently wrong with the DayZ community. It's people like you who want the game to be easier, that are ruining the community. Face it. It's a game, trying to be realistic. Realistically, not every single person on the island is going to have a gun. A gun will save your life and take another. They should be limited, it takes the game from being Call of Duty: Makarov PM Edition, to the survival horror genre. At first, I found the "no gun on spawn" thing bothersome, but, as long as you play smart, go to one of the major towns, get a gun, and some basic provisions and then run the fuck away from the major towns (only going back, when absolutely necessary), you'll start having fun. There is no stigma of "hardcore players". I play the game for fun. I just recently teamed up with my friend, and we started working on our "base of operations" with our first camping tent. We've both collectively died, many times, but it's a series of working out what works, and how to approach something. And we're not even hardcore players. TL;DR: I think you're being a pretentious twat (insert rebuttal). You need to play smarter, be patient, and try and team up. -
My ideas for added "realism"

Okay, yeah, I am happy just saying that was an over-powered idea. I didn't realistically, think it would work, due to the sheer over-powered nature. -
