Not strictly true. I have a FX-9590 and a GTX 770, the game runs flawlessly on max settings even in towns.

Built the PC yesterday and gave it a go today. Managed to get 40-50fps on pretty well max settings (All except post processing but that's more personal preference).

Whilst I appreciate the response, I fail to see why it would fail so badly? As you say it is a decent build, but I don't see how it having "i5" written on the box would make it run particularly better? Considering an i5 has less cores at a lower clock speed.

Rangefinders are in the game and are not a hacked item. They're basically binoculars with the range from you to the target your looking at written underneath, which is a necessity for consistently accurate sniping.

Pretty sure it's hacked, as I doubt they'd start adding in anymore snipers than there are already. But don't worry - you can't be banned for using hacked equipment. Only actually hacking it in.

I think you guys are being a little harsh. Yes, he hacks, which is bad. But I'd much rather have him hack and simply scare the shit out of people, or make them laugh, than do what most hackers do and mass kill the server or spawn in a tonne of gear, activate god mode and go on a killing spree. I'd say Exzib almost improves the game with what he does, as it adds an element of terror that wasn't in DayZ before - especially as he becomes more famous and the "It's raining, it's pouring" becomes more iconic.

Improvised melee weapons isn't such a bad idea to an extent.

The debug monitor confirms kills just as capably as the killfeed.

These are awesome ideas. Beans for you. I don't see why this has descended to pointless arguing. Adding the knife as a weapon would be no different to having the hatchet and crowbar. It would just make for MORE melee weapons which I don't see a problem with. It wouldn't increase the focus on melee action as a gun will beat a knife 99.9 of the time.

Justifying a weapon being added because, "I've used it in real life and I like it. Adding it lets the people who want to use it do exactly that but people who don't won't have to but that makes it fair" is ludicrous. By that logic, we should have every weapon in existence in the game to be fair to the people who like certain ones.

I've wondered for ages why the hatchet was made a weapon, and the crowbar added without adding the same function to the knife so I'm for this idea. I agree with a battlefield-style assassination animation, but only from behind. It would make for some terrifying experiences when wandering through the forest at night and your buddy drops dead with a slice in his throat. Obviously this should be for stand-alone but I see no reason why we couldn't just have the knife as a weapon for now. We have that hatchet/crowbar after all.

Adding weapons to the game simply because you like them isn't really justifiable means. There's already far too many military weapons in the game, if anything we need more civilian weaponry before anything else. But before that there is a lot of issues that need to be ironed out before adding content should be considered.

While I don't agree with what you're saying this did make me laugh so thankyou. I think if the zombies are made harder, you risk alienating new players entirely. As has been stated over and over again in this thread, new players die over and over again to zombies until they can figure them out and how to avoid them. If the zombies were even tougher (i.e more of, being able to run in buildings and easier to aggro) you're going to get new players giving up because they can't physically get away from them and are greeted with many frustrating deaths. Sure, DayZ is MEANT to be extremely hard - I get that; and I get that experienced players don't have the difficulty that new players have. But there has to be a compromise at some point, else new players can't become experienced players.

Rocket has expressed that he isn't interested in balancing the weapons so it's highly unlikely that it's been nerfed.

Yeah I understand what you mean. At least not EVERYONE turns bad. I for one try to help people but I'm not afraid to shoot if I have to and I won't feel bad about it. But I don't believe in all the KoS bullshit, or killing for the "funsies".

The only real way to be consistently successful, and to do it with relative speed, is to play as a team. Avoiding other players is a good idea but it is inevitable a player will cross your path some time. That's not to say being a lone wolf is impossible, just considerably more difficult.

I think this is just a random bug. I too have fallen unconscious whilst walking through the forest. I didn't lose any blood, my temperature was normal and there wasn't a zombie for miles. So you are not alone here lol. Also, temperature is exactly what it says. It drops when you do things like swim and stand out in the rain and increases when near fire and in doors. If your temperature drops below, I believe, 38 you can become sick. This will be evident as your character will cough. Antibiotics cure sickness.
