Actually 600 blood from a meat wouldn't be that bad. Would make getting blood up a little more difficult. But keep in mind that your average cow (that packs a mighty 8 pieces of meat) isn't wandering around everywhere, usually they are near villages on a very open field. Which means you could be exposed to 542 snipers by that time. In fact, I have actually died before that way.

Thanks for the feedback. Also I agree with you Obsolescence and kaeus3 that it might be better off pushed into the standalone version. But one thing that has caught my eye is when you prone and crawl around in the game, the grass sort of folds around you. Now this something very similar can be used to create those trace marks + that grass folding is already in the game so I guess if we'd use similar mechanics and implement it a little differently there would be a way of doing this in the mod not just the standalone game.

That is not true. As Mrksjke stated earlier smoke from helis appear only when they're fresh. Meaning that it will last about 1-2 hours after a server has restarted. I have literally searched through tens of heli crash sites at night, day, right before server restart, right after - I know what I'm talking about. On a side note, this is a little pic of 2 helis smoking right after a server restart: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/938125451999435920/EE10686996C7F037AA805F551AF3E538F906CCDD/ (one is right infront of me, the other one is a bit further back on the top left corner)

That is sad but true, Mega_Death. Altho when it comes down to people losing their gear to hackers vs people massively exploiting ALT+F4 I don't think Rocket really cares about our gear. Honestly I don't really care about the alt+f4 anymore. Mostly because there are so much bigger problems at the moment like (as we just said) hackers. To prevent ur enemy from quitting it's very simple - headshot with a .50 cal sniper rifle.

So after I got abused by hackers in another server and teleported to NWAF, I logged into LU134 a server that had only 3 people in it so that I could just run away from the airfield as quickly as possible. I ran into the forrest and i saw 2 maybe 3 guys shooting zombies in the middle of airfield like they owned the place. And after a few minutes what do you know, I get banned by an admin. The reason: PING. Now I checked the player list, I had the best ping there. In server list it shows me 47 ping. At home I have a 100mbps connection. This SURELY has nothing to do with ping and if it would have, there is an autokick function for that if your ping goes over like 150, not BAN by an admin. If you don't belive me, try it out yourself, go into that server and see that you will be banned in a few minutes for "ping". So can someone please do something about it. Also a little screenshot to show that I can't join back, not very helpful but still: http://steamcommunit...250719508057448 Edit// This happened around the time the pic was taken sooo 6:30pm UTC

So me and my friend were camping in a forrest near Polana, looking over our inventory and such. Then suddenly every player in the game was teleported into the NWAF. I have read about it in the forums before that hackers do that - just spawn everyone into one location, then people start to wonder what just happend and then start shooting eachother. I figured this was going to happen so I logged out, I told my friend to do the same. We both got away clean but who knows what massacre there might have been. Either way, I really really hope someone can do something about these hackers. I'm going to try and give as much information as possible. It happened in LU94 server. It happend around 6:00pm today (30 july) timezone UTC. Me and my friend both made a screenshot of this so here they are: Screen shot from me, after I quickly logged out: http://steamcommunit...250719507838745 Screenshot from my friend: http://steamcommunit...250719507670672 I really hope something will be done with these hackers. Edit// From my screenshot you can actually see who are the online players, so maybe that can be helpful.

Hacker teleported everyone to NWAF on LU94
rocu replied to rocu's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Did you die or see what happened? We both logged right after this happened. Or perhaps can you add more screenshots if possible? -
No.

Read your long story there and I pretty much had the same problem at first. Now I've too overgrown and filled with experience I actually want to go back to noob again because that was much funner. Anyway, the way zombies work is that if you are in their line of sight, they will see you from VERY far away, even if you're proning. If they're facing the other direction you can pretty much crouch+run right next to them (on a grass surface). That might be a key factor of why you're always getting attacked. As for not finding decent loot - the best suggestion I can give here is remember the best spots or buildings that can be entered. Then the next time you know where to go instead of searching through outhouses and finding nothing. For example when I started out, I just thought that finding matches was completely impossible, I never ever found one and even if I did I protected it like it was a damn helicopter. Now I know exactly where to go for some matches. Finally your life expectancy. To be honest, the beginning of a new "life" is the most hardest. Finding supplies in crowded cities and known villages is damn right dangerous. If you actually want to stay alive a lot longer, you should first loot the basics from known areas then start moving inland. Go to other small towns and scavenge through deer stands/military bases. All this takes quite a lot of time and the next thing you know, you've been alive for almost a week already. So basically they key part is to move away from the coast as fast as possible, but to grab as much as basic supplies as possible. Because finding food and water if you're lost without a map can be quite tricky.

Yeah it must be something to do with military equipment. I had the same thing again in Stary near the military tents. Really REALLY hope it will be fixed asap. This is literally making the game unplayable.
-
Some of the things from there are a bit of an overkill but I do like the idea of tracking down another survivor from a blood trail. Might even create separate suggestion for that. Well thinking sir, you have my beans.

Yup, that's exactly what you think it is. Me staring at my own body after I crashed my bike...TO DEATH. That's just the story of my DayZ right here.

Rocket Defence Force and Anti-Rocket Alliance ASSEMBLE
rocu replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Aah the good ol' war propaganda posters. Very well done my kind sir. I'm a little worried about how 'asiatic' this is tho. On to bigger manners - it would be really hard for me personally to pick a side as I'm always ranting about the priority of bugfixes yet I'm always there for the new patches and for the kind Rocket himself. There should be a third side called Neutral Rocket Society - IN ROCKET WE TRUST (and hate). -
Just to disprove your point there let's take a look at what you just said, shall we? First of all the gameplay itself has nothing to do with the overall community, which in fact is really good considering we have a very balanced Rocket Defence Force and Anti-Rocket Alliance. Secondly this game is a survival game. It's not supposed to be pretty with butterflies and bubbles where you get 1 000 000 everything by saying the magic word. What? I don't know I just made that up... Thirdly this is a shooter game after all. Can you imagine if someone went to the Battlefield 3 forums and start crying that the enemy is actually shooting at him? Fourthly it is not broken at all. Infact it is very healthy and perfectly running mod. The main idea and concept behind this mod is actually working very well. I suggest you learn what the game's about first before jumping into it expecting everyone to be friendly.

Really glad that camos will be back. But really, why isn't the inventory bug fixed yet? According to the how-hard-to-fix and how-necessary-to-fix ratio shouldn't this be one of the first priorities? I'm talking ofcourse about the bug when you try to put an item into a full backpack it will simply disappear.

Are ghillie suits not spawning as of 1.7.2.3 ? I can't seem to find one anywhere and I haven't seen anyone with it either. I used to find a lot, even kept 2-3 of them at some point. I've searched through towns, villages, shops, apartments, deer stands, military bases, NWAF, barracks, even stumbled upon about 10+ heli crash sites since 1.7.2.3 but have yet to find any camos at all.

Thank you kicktd, I guess I can stop searching for now. I did actually search the forums but I found just too much other crap I didn't want to go through it all.

v1.7.2 Aggros zombies much more then usual?
rocu replied to resausk's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I also agree with most of the stuff that has been said in this topic. New agroing logic is way too off. I already lost all of my equipment thanks to ghillie suit bug and died because I had no weapon to defend myself with, but I can close my eye for this, even tho I had some of the rarest item in the game (NVG, Mountain Dew, FN FAL nightvision etc..). But you can't just forget about this new zombie logic. It is just uncapable of playing. It's like playing super mario without the jump function. Well not really, but you get the point. Zeds are one of the main aspects of this game and they don't even work properly. Perhaps you should address this problem first before creating "first ever tournaments" and designing new forum graphics. Not trying to be a jerk here, but I just don't think the developers of this mod feel the pain we do. -
1.7.2 Opinion thread. All your opinions, good and bad, go here.
rocu replied to Denuth's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The whole patch is a total mess. Absolutely nothing is working. First time I logged into a 1.7.2 server I lost all my gear including NVG, which I had just got like 10 minutes earlier. (all thanks to my ghillie suit, which I also got like 20 minutes earlier) After that, I've broken bones when simply running away from zombies like 20 meters away. Zombies sometimes start chasing me literally from 100-200m away when I'm proned. There are also about 3 times more zombies in any place I go. I'm not sure if all this is INTENDED that way? If so I'm sorry, this isn't playable at all, only thing you can do is sit near a campfire in a deep forrest where zombies are atleast 1km away from you. Currenly I have just stopped playing and waiting for a fix for all this nonsense. -
I actually have one in my backpack at this very moment. Doubt anyone would even consider trading this item for an NVG or anything like that.

[How To] ArmA 2: CO + Steam Tracking and Overlay with Beta Patch
rocu replied to xcryonic's topic in New Player Discussion
Oh yeees, thank you very much for this topic. This should be a sticky 100%. I have literally searched for hours for how to do this. The tutorials on Dayzwiki didn't help either. This should be in Dayzwiki because I presume this is where people look first. Also I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but you can add "-nosplash" (without the quotes) into your launch options so that you wont get the beginning credits when launching the game. -
Not always, it's a known bug at the moment. What probably happens is that a body WAS there, but it disappeared after like 10-15 minutes, but the fly buzzing effect still remained.
-
This isn't a big problem from me since I can run the game smoothly with Six Launcher but I still want to run it from steam so I could shift+tab. So the problem is, when I run the game from steam (right click on OA->Run combined operations) then it runs combined operations with DayZ, but not the beta patch. How could I fix this? When I add this to launch options: "-mod=@dayz -mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash" I get the following error: Error creating Direct3D 9 Graphical Engine

How often do vehicles respawn? I have traveled from Elektro to Black Lake to NW Airfield back to Elektro just to find a vehicle. I have relogged into dozens of servers at common vehicle spawn points. I have been at it for 2 days now and I haven't seen a single vehicle. Has DayZ really come to this point where it's absolutely pointless to search for a vehicle? Because this is getting really frustrating.

So where can I find ammo for my M107 anti-materiel sniper rifle? I found 2 clips from heli crash site and even lost those because of the "half full magazine disappearence" bug. I can imagine I could find more from heli crash sites obviously, but something more realistic maybe since you only see those things once a year.
