I was wondering if anyone knew if there's like an available statistics website that you can download and set up for your own server? Something like http://dayzstats.com/ . Any help would be appreciated!

(Not sure if this was the right forum for this) Anyway.. I'm looking for a camera mod/tool inside DayZ that allows me to track players and free roam in real-time on a DayZ server. Something very similar to the one that the Survivor Gamez guys used: http://www.twitch.tv/survivorgamez/b/355205766 I'm not sure where to search such a tool so if anyone has any ideas, all help is appreciated. Thanks!

Completely agree with almost everything you suggested here. But not particulary for the axe moment you had there. Almost every time when 2 enemies meet up close they start putting bullets into eachother and they will both die, doesn't matter who hit the first bullet or even if the other guy started shooting 3 seconds later. This might also have to do with desync, but I think this addition would help aswell. You can have my beans.

For ATV you just have to drive really slowly on bumpy areas like forrests. Try not to drive over obstacles. Also driving uphill/downhill in any speed is quite dangerous aswell unless your only driving in a straight line. Yes, your vehicle will lose gas faster when the fuel tank is damaged. But not that fast, especially if it's on yellow.

Before I go straight into the subject, let me just tell you a mini story: So I walked into Elektro today... http://i.imgur.com/QSIAT.jpg After further investigation.... http://i.imgur.com/uE6Cq.jpg And about 60 seconds later when I enter a vehicle... http://i.imgur.com/Is3GP.jpg So what this thread is really about? I'm not trying to create another rant thread or QQ about glitches and hackers. I'm just merely expressing my opinions about DayZ and how it has changed for me in the last few weeks. When I first started playing DayZ I was so frustrated with all of the glitches that killed me over and over again. A month into the game and I still get screwed over by glitches. In fact there is almost no way of escaping them. I actually think that this is the buggiest game that I have ever played, and I have played A LOT of games. But NONE of them frustrates me more than hackers. Glitches I could deal with, I could just close my eye and tell myself that it is still an Alpha and just a simple mod. But these skiddies or so called hackers have simply ruined DayZ. Over the past 7 days I have been in about 20 different servers and in about 90% of them I have seen activities related to hacking. Why did I bring up this mini story in the beginning of my topic? Well, that is just the perfect metaphore for how ruined this game has become. In those pictures you can see every single legitimate vehicle that has spawned in the server. Many of those were fully repaired and had a lot of items stored in it. Which means that someone has actually taken proper care of his vehicle and trusted his valuables in it. It means that someone has spent valuable time doing that. Then one good sunday morning a hacker comes along and decides to take all of that hard work and destroy it in a click of a mouse. I think it's safe to say that DayZ is completely ruined and overrun by hackers or skiddies. I have seen 4 of my favorite YouTube video makers quit DayZ because of how ruined the game is. IF Rocket still has any real plans with the mod and/or the stand-alone game, I think it's the last chance to take some action or to simply shut down the mod. On that note, I am also quitting this mod until this issue has been fixed or a stand-alone game has been released.

I just can't express how wrong you are. Yes the door is there and I am leaving, I really don't need a nagging hacker-lover to show me the way. I am not EXPECTING it to be shut down just because I feel like it, but that would be a wise choise considering all the hackers. Why? Because of the obvious reason - it simply is eating the game inside out. You must a hacker or an idiot to not see that. "sure but it doesn't suck becase of them"... Oh, you HAVE to be one of the hackers am I right? This used to be a survival game. There are players running around invisible and invincible. That my friend is not a survival game. It's like ordering a burger from a fast food restaurant but getting a salad with a photograph of a burger. Clearly you have missed the point of this whole thread.

Watch up to 2:20 only. Rest you can ignore (or watch anyway). IF you have any questions of why I killed those other guys in the other clips, read ze description.

I actually did that as soon as we started moving. He didn't have a second gun in his bag, he did have some medical supplies and food but I didn't feel like taking it because I actually thought he would help me :D .

Moral of the story - never trust ANYONE even if they're saying they're going to help you and you're just a fresh spawn. Instead just go along with it and try and find a weapon on the way :D .

Potential Graphical Artifacting Fixes
rocu replied to Legacy (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It KIND OF worked at the beginning, but a couple of minutes into the game you still start to see glitches. Especially from barb wires. Edit// Usually what works for me is just changing the HDR settings from Normal to High in graphical options. If that doesn't work then restart the game and it works again. But it's still very annoying as they keep coming back even after you restart the game. -
Day Z should be a constant battle for the resources you need, not a constant battle for something to do.
rocu replied to Silent331's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Great suggestion. The struggle for food and water should definitely be more prioritized. Also it would make more sense if drinking and eating restores only half or even less of your thirst and hunger bar. You have my beans, kind sir. -
It's easier to get rid of it with 1.7.2.5. Earlier version there was no way I personally could get rid of it except restart the game like a dozen times until it's gone. Now all you need to do is change HDR graphics settings from normal to very high and vise versa.

can u carry Multiple rifles, or rifle AND shotgun
rocu replied to hikerlt's topic in New Player Discussion
You can carry two. One goes into your primary weapon slot and another one goes into your backpack. Note that a primary weapon takes 10 slots in the backpack. If your backpack doesn't have 10 slots while u try to move a weapon there, it will then just disappear. -
That is just sad to watch hackers (or skiddies) raping everybody so freely and I bet absolutely nothing will be done to those guys by anyone. Eventually it comes down to become hacker or get hacked, at which point the game will just become a massive hacking clusterfuck.

I killed 2 guys and found M4A1 Holo SD on both of them. Is this weapon legit or not? I know M4A1 CCO SD is legit cause I found one in the barracks. Here's a pic: Now I was pretty sure that these are hacked items or whatnot so I didn't take anything and hide both of their bodies. The whole story was a little fishy with these guys (if you care to read) - I was in Gorka looking for parts for my car (which took me a whole day, 3 murders and 1 death to finally get). It was a night server so there were about 6 players in total. So I was looking for some parts and suddenly the server restarted, so I went back to the server because my vehicle was there. When I logged in I heard a M107 shot far away. I was pretty sure they weren't shooting at me because that has a very distinctive sound when a bullet is shot right near you. So I went out of the Gorka city a bit and what do you know, 2 guys in ghillies are just sitting on the road staring at eachother. I took my nightvision off so that my eyes would adjust to the dark and I killed them both with my AS50 from 100m away. Funny thing is I never found an M107 on them and I had previously just passed that road with my car and never saw anyone. Here's a pic of those 2 guys sitting on the road (brightness and exposure was increased in post to make the pic more visible): I'm not sure if this would even be report-worthy or not, but their names were [sLz] Shin and Mord.

Umm, yes. That is exactly how it went down. If you're thinking I'm gonna go greet them with a smile on my face while holding some of the most valuable items in the game including a vehicle then you're mistaken my kind sir. Anyway, as I read from the posts this is not legit. Atleast I got my confirmation. Are there any other LEGIT suppressed assault rifles besides M4A1 CCO ?

Reason why you should check under every heli crash site veeeery thoroughly:

That's right, tracking. I think this feature should be in DayZ and would definitely fit the environment. What am I talking about you ask? Well, if any of you has played a hunting game before like Deer Hunter knows what I'm talking about (yes, deer hunter, stop judging me). Who has never thought of a way of track down your enemy without simply having to SEE him? Surely there can be clues all over the place like dead zombies, dropped junk, used fireplaces and so on... But is that really enough to track a player down? I think DayZ should have a bit more complex and versatile tracking system. It should be something where you can track people down with a little work if you want it to. But if you're not really searching for any traces then you won't find some either. But then again, one day you go into the forrest at sunrise, light up a fire, cook ur meat and then suddenly realize that there are tracks all around you in which case panic kicks in and your survival instinct starts working...or u just get shot in the face. I'm not trying to suggest making this a hunting game, no not at all. Since this game is about realism and anti-gaming for that matter I think this would be a very nice addition. Just to clarify things I'm going to bring out some actual examples: Blood trails when players are bleeding (has been suggested before, many times) Clear footprints Cracked or smashed bushes / grass / small trees where survivors run past Oil/fuel leaks produced by vehicles Tire tracks produced by vehicles Food remains / empty cans after eating Empty soda cans after drinking Empty bullet shells on the ground Different terrain blending - like leaving muddy footprints in a city when you've come straight from a forrest Also since this game has a very diverse weather, daylight and environtment system I think those should play a very big role in tracking. Some more examples: Raining: Very clear wet footprints can be seen indoors Footprints disappear quickly Bloodtrails disappear quickly Oil/fuel leaks disappear quickly Clear and sunny day: Highlight of tracking - most traces are much more visible then in any other weather or time of the day Indoor/urban environment tracking very difficult (unless muddy footprints or bloodtrails) Campfire smoke visible from much greater distances At night: Bloodtrail and footprints tracking very difficult, even with NVG (unless a light source is provided) Empty used flairs on the ground Much better hearing Terrain blending much less effective due to the decrease of temperature Note: these are just some of the suggestions that I just thought of from the top of my head. Feel free to add more. Also I think that a very important part of tracking is that traces disappear relatively quickly. Mainly for two reasons: if only fresh traces are provided (that don't last very long), it is much harder to track down your enemy ; massive increase in bandwidth. The bandwidth or server capacity or whatever you call it, is actually very important. From a programmer standpoint of view I know exactly how stressful this can be for the game engine and servers. Mainly because every single player in the server is going to leave a massive trace of instances behind them anywhere they go. I understand this can be an issue with this suggestion but truthfully this topic is just for an idea not the consequences. Maybe this could be in the future stand-alone DayZ who knows. Anyway, feel free to post your suggestions. If I get enough feedback from this suggestion I can start photoshoping some examples from the game :) . Edit// sry for my English, it's not really my native language.

"Artifacting" or just graphical glitches started for me about a few weeks ago when first 1.7.2 patches came out, or even before that. It didn't bother me much back then because it happened very rarely and and wasn't really affecting my gameplay. Now after 1.7.2.4 things have gone so much worse that in certain areas of the map I just can't navigate around anymore. Two of the places that I've seen it so far are Balota Airfield and Berezino city. I have tried dozens of different graphical settings, I've googled the problem, searched through the forums and still nothing. Right now I'm about to try a fix that was actually posted into Dayz forums, I will let you know how it will turn out. But that still doesn't change the fact that this game has a huge issue right now. Anway, here's a little demonstration video to show you what I'm talking about: If it's any help, I'll post my PC specs aswell: CPU: Intel i7 2600k 3.4GHz RAM: G.Skill F3 8gb 2133 Mhz GPU: Nvidia GTX580 1536mb (these are the main components that may affect the graphical part of dayz, didn't feel the need to list out anything else)

If you really hit all those 4 crossbow bolts + 10 G17 shots then he should be long gone. Which means you were probably dealing with a hacker. As far as I know crossbows should kill with 1 hit (correct me if I'm wrong). I know that they kill zombies with 1 hit 100% and I have also killed a survivor once with only 1 shot instant death. Edit// Seeing as they "nerfed" the gun damages (not sure if true), it might not have been a hacker. Did they really lower the damages? Would like a confirmation on that one.

Database wipe every update? Very bad idea. But like once in a while, sure... Right now it would definitely need a wipe cause of all the reasons you already stated.

Actually I think this is a really great idea. Just the main concept needs a little rework. Instead of different toolbelts or such perhaps there should be a backpacks that actually decide your toolbelt size depending on it's type. What am I talking about? Well let's say there are 3 types of bags: soldier, hunter, survivor. Soldier - 2 primary weapon slots, 1 side arm, very few main inventory slots and not many slots in the backpack... Also quite limited toolbelt Hunter - 1 primary weap, 1 sidearm, average amount of inventory slots, a lot of toolbelt slots and average amount of backpack slots Survivor - 1 primary weap, 1 sidearm, LOTS of inventory slots and slightly above average backpack slots Toolbelt slots meaning that if you have "limited toolbelt" you can only have like 4-6 slots, in which case you would have to be very careful what you want to put into your toolbelt. Not like now where you have enough toolbelt slots to cover every single tool in the game.

It's quite hard to give out advice for such an error. As this might be caused by slow connection or bad PC. Personally it takes me an average of about 2-3 minutes to get into a server. But I also sometimes see the Loading screen infront of me like 10 minutes in which case I also have to close the game via task manager.
