Just wanted to point out that first person is as unrealistic as 3rd person just in the opposite direction. You see way to much in 3rd person, while you see way to less in first. 3rd person gives you the awareness of where your body is without looking down (ever had to look down to know where exactly you stand in RL? Not often i guess.) Looking over grass and bushes is possible in reallife while prone... guess people weren't in military here and had to crawl some distance. Third person gives you all the awarenessyou would have in RL (+ some special corner looking stuff that shouldn't be possible, i agree on that) while first person cuts all your peripheral few and is oddly placed (and don't get at me with the stupid dots that should be remove in the firsplace) edit: just finished reading the topic and realized that "itputsthelotion" allready said what i tried but better ^^ (should always read the topic till the end before answering i guess ^^)

But you know that that is possible without downloading anything? just clicking a link on the internet can cause that someone is able to access all your local files, if your computer has so weak defences that it can be taken over.

oO sadly i didn't make a screenshot but before i died i had 97 zombiekills with 92 headshots...who the hell aims for the body in a zombie game ^^

What RNG, the RNG of finding matches? No that's not skill. Not getting hit until you find them is the skill part

The logic here is that effort doesn't need to be the same. There should be benefits for teaming up, and there are. Well, i played my current life all solo and never even dropped under 11000 blood so i believe it's a l2p issue.

Barn Loot spawns: 12 yeah definetly possible to have 7 weapons in there I also find weapons extremly fast (10 min into a new life and i probably have a weapon)

I play solo a lot. Never had issues finding things to survive. Sure it can take a while till you find the matches (and as soon as you found them it seems as if they are everywhere ^^) but you shouldn't die from that. There is food everywhere. If you don't find any food, start shooting zombies, they have a decent chance to have a can with them. Edit: Also you shouldn't be losing much blood at all when you don't get shot. Infected are so easy to loose that the damage is almost nonexsistant.

Well, hackers will have a lot of fun then. Everyone getting ported together and starting to shoot? sure i like not beeing able to dc at that point and die to some bs. I will allways altF4 if i am target of a hack like that, i have no problem dieing in a firefight or just of random bugs but not because of hackers. No chance escaping them, is not the way to go.

Actually, alpha is usually a stage where you add new stuff and fix bugs afterwards in beta. (Besides for obvious bugs)

How will KoS get fixed if rocket doesn't want to punish KoS? Well, we will see if it will but still saying it will get fixed is just a guess not a fact. (I personally have nothing agains KoS) BTW, i am actually in favor of DayZ, even if it doesn't look that way, but people talk to much without any information at hand

While i understand the hate against skills and levels and stuff, it adds a bit of realism. I mean, common how the hell can you be a medic-sniper-mechanic-hunter-pilot-scout just because you are in an apocalypse all of a sudden you don't learn everything there is. So a feature that favors "training" is a good thing. Levels are a bit akward though. The quests come in form of notes found and you decide wether you follow the note or not that also could originate from a player wanting to trap you. I am not saying WarZ will be better... because hell it's nothing but screenshots and some text right now. But trashtalking it is as stupid as saying it is the best game ever (at this point)

it definetly is a oneshot-kill. never had to shoot 2 shots with it to kill. But @OP, if zeds are fixed again, believe me you will attract zeds, why? because right now i can shoot a Z 10m infront of me without the zombie 5m infront of me noticing anything. I used it before zeds got deaf and i shot outside of cherno and had all zeds (and players) from cherno at my tail.

How can you be that sure? If dayZ didn't exist i would agree with you. But DayZ sent a really big message to publishers and gamedevelopers. Almost 800k different players with 200k players online every day on an ALPHA MOD is a huge crowd to make games for. Not taking into account that there are people that don't want to pay for Arma2 just to play an Alpha mod (3 of my friends) but still like the idea. So you don't know how huge the crowd could be. There will be companies and publishers just wait for it ;)

I don't know how anyone could possibly argue about dayz beeing worse/better than TheWarZ. I mean both could be true. There is almost no information about TheWarZ. As much as i like DayZ it has a lot of issues... which is why, probably soon, big companies might come up with a game like dayz just finished, because they have the manpower behind that.(and them oney)

In this game playing a female is useless. You are restricted to the one skin because even if you find camo you can't wear it. Still i played a female character once to test stuff. In MMOs i played i used a mix of female and male characters... it's all aesthetics. It's about what is nice to look at style wise and there are so many games where the style of male characters just sucks.

Well, it's true that third person is not realistic, but neither is first person. First person lacks a lot of things you would have in RL like the awareness where exactly you are positioned without looking anywhere but straight, While third person shows to much behind you you wouldn't recognize usually so it's to much (just said that to counter the argument of "first person because of realism") For me, the first person view in Arma2 is kinda bad from the placing (at least it feels rather unrealistic to me), so i stick to 3rd person. All that said, it's up to the server hosters, but i can understand why more people want to play with 3rd person and so there are more 3rd person servers.

Way to not understand what they are saying. Eating raw meat that has been stored longer (doesn't matter how it is packed) is more dangerous than eating meat from an animal that you just killed a few seconds ago(if cut right like allready stated). This is a fact. All the bacteria you mentioned are usually not present in the meat of a wild animal.

No it's not. The setting is that you end up in this apocalypse unprepared for it. So you might have a backpack and a bandage with you, why? because people always have some kind of bandage with them when going to roam offroad. I would not take a gun with me for that. And see it like, you allready ate your food and drank your water.

It's here for a long time, but it is really hard to get infected in the first place. So that might be why you never got infected before.
