yep pretty good idea. then u would not have to hide your car in a far away forest just so u can take a s*** ;)

if u change the graphic option HDR, it works temporary. the "flush" command does not work every time, the glitch mostly just changes in color or something. also restarting the game fixes it temporary if u looked into the glitch when logging of. getting thie error on almost every airfield and also in cherno wich made the game just unplayable for me atm.

just simple: i spent 5h today on playing Dayz online and i found 3 hatchets. thats it....... i know this is a game where u need to be patient but its nearly impossible to do anything without the pistol at the beginning. i searched for hunter spots, houses, and found just ammo and some car parts and other stuff. its just a bit frustrating if u wanna go into a village to get some quality loot but u acctually cant because there are so many zombies and nop way to get rid of them just with shooting. can someone pls help me or knows where to find a weapon? i dont want high end super gear after 5h but a pistol is not too much to ask for.

agreed. also not helping anymore. got killed seweral times even if i had absolutely no gear. this game is PVP only now. and the ironie of that: one time i picked a female character and named her something fancy and everybody i met was friendly.......xD

I use six updater as my budy does but it seems there is no server favorite list or something in the arma2 server browser and i dont run it on steam so i cant just quickly join the same server. any advices on that how we can do this or do we just have to look through the server browser till we find the same server? thx

i also found a, well its really no "realistic" searching for items but i found a chruch with some good loot in it and i though well lets quit here and continue later on. when i started playing again the church again was full with goodies. so just find a descent building with loot spots and try logging out and in till u find a descent weapon. did that 4 times and found a Revolver, makarov and an enfield. and of course ammo and some bandages and other stuff.

its a bit silly but u actually have to reload the hatchet before u can use it. i found one and could not hit anything with it. then i reloaded it and hat about "10000" rounds (hits). the hunting knife does not work as a weapon but u can use it on animals to get "FRESH MEAT" (God Diablo 3 i hate u so much)

If i make a new arma 2 profile, does that mean i have a second dayz character or so deleted my old one or is it still the same?

common problem of the zombies. they can get through doors, over obstacles, climb ladders, walk through walls. well open doors and climb ladders is ok (28days later zombies f.e.) but hit and walk through walls is just a huge pain in the arse!

the amount of zombies in the city is awesome but in the little settlements in the wood its just a nightmare. i followed a road and on the right was 1 house with a little "box" on the right. and there where 8 zombies. thats no realistic. what are they doing here? there is nothing. 2 or 3 zombies at a hunting stand is nice but 8 zombies at 1 house somwhere in the deepest woods is not realistic. otherwise love the new LoS of the zombies (but they still can walk through walls, fix that asap pls ;) )

why is everybody flaming the author of this thread. all he is saying is, that now with no weapon at the beginning its A LOT (and i mean A LOT) harder to get anything. the one half of the players die in the first 30min because they are new to the game and the other half dies because its really really hard to get yourself going without ANYTHING to defend yourself. even in RL you can defend yourself with anything around. so give us a little help at the start. And to all the hardcore players saying "buhu u need to play better": well, right i`m new to the arma series and i intend to get better (since the first run i got a lot better) but just a little help to get onto your foots would be really nice. and maybe u can change that in the difficulties. (Recruit = pistol or axe at the start, everything above= no weapon.)

minecraft style. and of course not more expensive than the main game (ARMA2 CO = 25€) so DayZ maybe (10 - 15(max)) People bought ARMA2 in the last weeks BECAUSE of the mod. so maybe there is no need to take money for it because, well its a mod for your own game and the sales really increased since DayZ became popular. so stay cheap if u`re planning on realeasing it as its own game! and dont forget: many people bought ARMA2 because they wanted to play dayZ, not because they are intressted in Military simulations (like myself). i think personally i will never play the main ARMA games so if u charge the players money for a "mod" or standalone game, all the people who bought ARMA2 because of this, they would be really mad i guess (myself included)

Simple answer: NO only frustrating and u cant defend youreself = many deaths before having fun!

i really dont care what kind of weapon the devs give us. even if it would be an axe i would be happy because i CAN kill the zombies with it (not like the stupid crowbar wich of course cant be used as a weapon. Half Life 1 learned us that a crowbar can be a really godd weapon. but even if theres no problem with the crowbar: even in real life i could defend myself with anything else than a pistol and its just getting frustrating every time 1 stupid little zombie walks through a wall, a door or anything else that they can see u and BAM U ARE DEAD! there is no way to get rid of zombies without killing them. but how? now weapons? no other players around to help? i know the main goal of the mod is total realistic survival but this is just a bit ridiculous. since patch 1.7.1.5 (i guess) the aggro range of the zombies has increased, its more difficult to stay low and quiet (even if im lying on the ground in grass not moving i can be seen by the zombies, we got now weapons from the beginning, etc etc. cmon guys fix that. otherwise its not more than a frustrating "i need to find a weapon" or "Im just running trough the forest for 5h" game and i guess thats not the main goal. and yes i know this is all ALPHA version (or beta after the beta patch, i dont know) but some of the issues (zombies through walls, AI and so on really need to be fixed.

agree. really frustrating if u found good loot and want to take a rest somewhere and BAM a zombie teleports through the wall an thats it. hope this gets fixed. seems to be a major problem. with this not beeing fixed i guess many people will avoid this mod. (of course understandable: enemies who can walk through walls???)

jep. and a pistol with 2-3 mags is not really a BIG help since u`re only supposed to use it if u`re in danger. but at least it would be something

Guess some others got this error too. i found weapons so i dont know if this is affecting my game. any ideas?

thx. so it doesnt mean i can find no weapons in the game. good i thought i would be completely doomed if i find no weapon ;)
