In some ways your right, it IS supposed to be about adding the new content / trying new things, but I think the forum folk and the userbase has been very vocal about the bugs and many even claiming to "rage quit" because of them, I think the bug fixes are basically being done to try to keep as many people playing as possible. So in a way it's our own fault that things went this way. -

The reason you are not allowed to lock the server is that by doing so you have an advantage over others when it comes to being able to go and "gear up", this is a persistant game, so what you do on one server affects the whole playerbase. So your sick of someone ruining your game play, so your going to throw a tantrum and ruin as many other peoples game as possible ? (sounds very "mature"). And there will be a mod without hosters like yourself, in fact the mod in general will be better off without people like yourself hosting. Do us all a favour and stop renting a server. -
Personally I would be looking to get a better power supply, that one is "adequate" and the numbers add up to what "should" be a decent PSU, but it is cheap, and generally you get what you pay for. IMO, the powersupply is one of the most important parts of the system so you should get something "nice" perhaps try to push the budget up to at least the $100 mark. The rest "should" have no problems running the game at mid - high graphics settings (depending on resolution).

As far as the gun sounds go, the only suggestion I have is if your running the game through steam, verify the game cache, if you right click on the game in your steam list and go to properties then verify the cache, it can pick up errors in files / missing files and things like that. With the graphics, turn off PPAA, and postprocessing effects, and make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. (a drop in quality may help, but I would start with those settings first). Barbed wire etc can be removed if you have a toolbox. -

Of course it's possible, I would say unless you've upset some people lately though that it is highly unlikely. It's more likely that your provider had a momentary issue, which by the sounds of it resolved very quickly. If you had been DDoS attacked you would know it because you would be offline for some time, unless you have a dynamic IP.

Just a question, how do you tell who is who in game ? - when your wandering the wilderness and come across someone there isn't really any way to know they are "good" or "bad" until you are too close. I know the voice chat works, but again, you need to be fairly close for that. -

Err what ? The OP is coming from a "religious" viewpoint (though trolling lets run with this for a minute), so it was not the big bad "atheist" that was posting "bullshit", it was a religious person (surprise surprise), and stop walking round going "I'm a devout catholic".... it's just fucking stupid. -

No biggie, obviously kiddies who are basically trying to get a "reaction", judging by this thread I'd say they have succeeded. When I look at that I don't see "Neo-Nazi" I see : Some people might think that swastika is only the symbol of Nazi Germany. But Buddhism used 2000 year ago.Some people said that came from Tibet Buddhism of Good Luck. But Buddhism's sign is not slanted one as in the west. You often will see as statues of Buddha's chest engraved swastika in Singapore,India,Burma and China. In Burmese called "Set Kyar" and in Chinese is "Su Kyaung Mo Ni". The symbol was often used by ancient Eastern nations. -
I find that the seattle servers have a half decent ping if your in Au. - about the 200 marker.

I'd like to see offensive actions taken by BE, illegal but hell it would be funny. On detection it uses the BE servers to Dos their connection for the next 24hours. :P Not workable but wouldn't it be nice . . . . . . . . . Alternatively I'd love to catch one of those cheaters, tie them to a chair in a shipping container, load them up on LSD, then close the doors and use NVG's and a straight razor, to circle them for a few hours whispering satanic shit and randomly slashing them up, (not too deep). Do that for about 16 hours or so . .. then let them go . . but I digress. . .

You won't "learn" anything in a passworded server. You need to play in "general population" to learn. . . Otherwise you will get to the point where you "think" you're good but end up getting hammered on a "real" server. And no you are not allowed to password protect servers that are connected to the hive.

There are no "recruit" servers, there are only DayZ servers. If you want to get the hang of it, try playing on low population servers or non-veteran servers. If you haven't played Arma II before then I would suggest doing some of the tutorial missions in the vanilla version so you know how to operate the goodies. -

I've been through a similar issue when the forum changed from it's old format to this new one. It seems that any external link will show as just that, a link. No bbcode / html / whatever, works. The only way to get it to display that I have found is to add it as an attachement / Your media. Which is really a pain, as if your anything like me, I have a stack of "forum images" already hosted on my own web server. But I digress. That's the way to get it to work now : Works with .gif aswell (apparently) -
It may be that there are limited options in the suspend / ban actions "box". I know on my forums sometimes I ban users with reasons that don't match the "real" reason simply because I couldn't be assed adding more reasons to the drop down box :) So it might be that you had the suspension for something in that thread and the "Offensive language" thing was the closest that the mod could get to it.

Well fuck me . . . lol Perhaps I was "mistaken" . . . . I thought the culture here was fairly "chanish" and as long as we don't directly "attack" someone we can use whatever language we like, and if they are being douches then even "attacks" will be tolerated to some point . . . Is there an updated forum ruleset or something ?

Must be something else, I've seen and made posts, with a lot of "language" in them before, there must be more to it . . . . (as far as I know language is not an issue on here, it's common and no one seems to take any great offense to it as we all use it). Are you Sure that the thread you had a suspension for is that one ?

Randomly Banned in server US 1198

If you can join other servers then it is NOT a battleEye ban, which means the admin of the server have banned you and put the BattleEye tag on it to make you, and probably us on the forum, think that it was B.E. As you may have noticed if everyone thinks it is BattleEye then they (including myself) will just put shit on you. Admin going out of their way to make something "seem" like a BE ban does look very much like admin abuse... (more of it :( ) -

You may not have been right at that moment, but sometimes it takes a little time to go through the system, so you could have been banned for running a hack 1 or even 3 weeks ago. Can you join other servers ? -
Admin are allowed to ban hackers. They just need some proof, which can be a pain, but yea, they are allowed.
