Well, this is ending up to be quite a bad showing. The server lag is absolutely atrocious combined with the desync. People are thinking the server is getting ddos'd which is really unfortunate and just shows that no matter what you do you cannot enjoy this game anymore without someone interfering. I watched Dymoxide simply fall over dead without even getting shot just because of desync. His game also froze for a solid minute because of the server fumbling. Shame. This event needs to be run again on a different date and worked out a bit more. Especially when there are prizes involved, you can't count people getting killed due to the server possibly being ddosed. Just not the way it was supposed to be done. -
If you want to go the easy route, just get a managed game server from a company like Vilayer. I highly recommend Vilayer as they have some great people on customer support, their servers are top of the line, and very easy to manage as far as updates/restarts, etc etc. They are a little bit more expensive then other companies like HFB, but the performance is simply amazing. I absolutely love my 40 slot Vilayer server. When the server has been restarted recently, the load times are almost instantaneous. At the end of the day, there is a reason why Vilayer is currently the most used provider for DayZ servers at around 45% of DayZ servers being run by them. The only reason Vilayer is a bit more expensive is that they are based out of the UK, so you have to deal with the dollar ratio from dollars to euros. My 40 slot is $48 a month. Not bad at all, especially if you have friends helping. Goto Vilayer.com and get some information from them. They also have teamspeak and if they are on, they will answer any questions you may have. There servers are also pre-whitelisted, and what this means is that every server they can offer you is guaranteed to get an instance ID from the DayZ dev team. Your server will generally be up within 24 hours of purchase, but most of the time it's even quicker. Mine was setup and playing within 10 hours. They also offer some different locations compared to a company like HFB and Vilayer also has timezone changing as a feature. Some other companies(Hate to call out HFB) do not allow you to change your servers timezone once you select it during purchase. This was the big reason I didn't go with them, as well as them not offering a server based in NY at the time I was looking to buy. The timezone changer is awesome though, because you can keep the server day-light all the time if you wanted to. I generally do this because a lot of people don't like playing in nighttime servers, so I can have the server running a UTC -6 timezone during the afternoon, and then change it to UTC + 6 during late evening hours so people who play later at night will be able to play when it's daytime in the server. It's really nice, although I don't do this all the time and I do have a shortened night cycle on my server. This also may be why my server is high population all the time now after it gets past say 1pm est. It being in New York also helps since a lot of people in the north east play this game, and there are not that many NE server hubs besides New York. PA is another one but you don't see too many of those.

I don't see how this could happen since we don't have permission to lock down our servers. Once the mod opens up as the standalone draws closer, this may be a possibility once they grant us permission to lock things up. Granted I would love to partake in some serious squad vs squad fights on a custom chernarus map/mission, sort of like what the Hunger GameZ are doing with their custom map, which is basically Berezino and the surrounding forest(for sniping, etc.). Without the ability to lock the servers, I think it's obvious that there's just no chance of being able to pull it off successfully without outside interference ruining every single attempt at it.

Well considering some of them get paid enough to not have to work, I'd be damn happy with my "internet celebrity" status. Paid to play video games for people to watch, and paid enough to be financially secure enough to own a house and support a family. Sounds damn good to me. -

It's not any louder. The gun uses a specific sound file when it's fired, and ammo doesn't change it.

Got a server from Vilayer last month, and with the amount of new servers going up, the population has been low so hopefully I can boost that a little bit. Surprisingly, we haven't had a huge hacker presence. I've only banned about 4 known hackers in the past 3 to 4 weeks now, but I'm sure that number will climb. The server is east coast(FL to be specific, this may change in the future however). I'm usually on throughout the day to admin the server, and I also have an email for any kind of hacker reports to be sent to so that I can check it as quickly as possible and deal with the situation. I also tend to ban anyone I CATCH combat logging for a 12-24 hour period, depending on severe the situation seems to be. Ghosters can earn themselves a 48 hour ban, there are plenty of other servers out there for them to play on for that period. Some info: Nametags: OFF 3rd Person: ON Crosshairs: ON (This may change in the future) Waypoints: ON Map player markers, or whatever you want to call them: OFF. Difficulty: Veteran As I said, the server is low population at the moment, so some more regulars would be nice. The server is typically restarted once every 8-12 hours for stability purposes. I try to have a long daytime / short night-time day cycle if at all possible, but chances are if you're on the east coast, it'll be day time more often than not when you're playing. However, more often than not the server is running in UTC - 6. Performance is great. Not much server desync at all, unless you count the desync on the hive's end of the chain. But that's unavoidable. Very quick load-in times, and very rarely any crashes. I always announce restarts and give 10 minute warnings to get to a safe place or safe any tents, etc. Try it out if you'd like. :)

It is against the rules set by the DayZ admins to alter mission parameters, which is what I would have to do in order to enable side chat. It was taken out for a reason. Plus, I have a managed gameserver, not my own, so I have no access to do any of that stuff, which is for good reason. Sorry. :( And no, tents and vehicles aren't saving properly on my server. This is due to the latest hive update which screwed up a ton of shit. It's like this way on every server running the latest hive version. I don't know if older 1.7.2.4 servers have this problem now. I know the problem wasn't around when 2.4 was the latest patch. Also, I was involved in that skirmish on counter-sniper hill in elektro last night. We went to investigate the snipers camping noobs in the town, and ended up taking a bunch of people out as well as getting killed once as well. I ended the night with about 6 murders and 3 bandit kills due to people constantly rushing back towards the bodies. Although, I will say we found two AS50 TWS rifles on two of the bodies, but those were hidden to stop circulation of hacked in weapons. I won't ban for it unless I have evidence that the person spawned them in , but I will do everything in my power to stop the circulation of them. Not saying you were the noobs there, but some people were. Particularly the guys with AS50 TWS' :) -

He says he took the M4 SD from one of the guys he took out. Also, on occasion, when you morph into a bandit skin after killing someone, your stats reset the same way they do when you put on alternate clothing. Which would verify the fact he only has 2 zombie kills. He could of killed them before the SS was taken.

As far as the hive buggering shit up with tents/vehicles not saving, here's a message I received from Vilayer. Over the past few days we have been in discussion with DayZ in regards to the current bugs in the game. We are going to be providing DayZMod a new machine to host their HIVE, This should resolve any packet loss and lag issues that users may be having from the current HIVE. Also while the transfer is going to be made, there is going to be another update released that will contains fixes for the tents saving and other items that may have been causing issues. This may or may not be made public, it could be a private update that is required on the HIVE and Server Side only. Please note that this is not official yet and you are receiving this information because you are a Vilayer LTD customer and we want everyone to be within the loop. We are currently the largest host for DayZ and we hope that we continue to be the largest host for DayZ. We want to thank all customers for using our service for DayZ and we hope you continue to do so. Soon enough we believe that this mod will become DayZGame at the end of November, Vilayer LTD will be providing Game Servers for DayZGame and if you wish your server will be automatically changed to the standalone version of this game upon release. We are working as hard as we can with the developers to try and resolve all prior issues with the HIVE and Game before the standalone is released. We're not 100% sure when the HIVE will be moved / fixed however we will inform you when it has. As per the normal if you have any questions please let us know. So, it looks like a fix may be coming sooner rather than later. We can only hope so anyway. -

Truthfully, I would find it acceptable if they just reverted the game back to say version 1.7.1.5, arguably the most stable patch they put out. Then open the mod up, let admins lock their servers and invite only people that go through an approval or registration process, or allow private hives. Then, take all focus off the mod and go into full stand-alone mode. Sure, we wouldn't have features like the new dogs, or bandit/hero skins, but the game was absolutely 100% playable at that stage. Very little bugs, certainly no gamebreaking ones for sure. No graphical bugs. No endless tent duping. Tents saved properly. That was mid june to early july if memory serves me correctly. That was my funnest time with the mod. What I mean by "opening up" the mod would be allow people to mod, and or do what they want with the mod, as long as it doesn't breach any agreement rocket put forth. They could just set it & forget it as long as it was in a perfectly playable stage, and not many people would be complaining. We'd have a fun game to hold us off until the full featured standalone is released. I do believe Rocket made a comment in an interview, or maybe a Reddit post stating he was going to do just that. Open it up. -

Those videos were footage recorded over a week ago. Generally it's taken from past streams. Oshi, you may recognize me from your stream, but I really do agree with you. The game seems so watered down now compared to what it was in early june. No one goes north anymore. If you want to kill people, you pretty much have to resort to sitting down south killing the assholes shooting people with a flashlight and painkillers. It truly is sad. The game used to have so much depth. Good weapons used to be rare and when you found one, it gave you that feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. Now with the rampant duping due to the hive bugging everything up and tents just non stop duping items even if people aren't trying to dupe, finding an AS50 is about as easy as finding a bandage. I still play the game since their currently isn't a game out that recreates the tension felt in DayZ combat. I really hope yourself and Chris come back for the standalone, as hopefully the amount of hacking will cease to little or nothing as well as the game having new features, and a slightly better engine(even if it is a mix of RV3/4). You guys were the best streamers/youtubers when it came to DayZ, absolutely. Saddens me to hear about your departure(if you're going to quit for now that is) but I certainly do not blame you. I just hope Rocket listens to the veterans of this game and realizes we need some change, and we need it quickly. -

If it's not a false positive you have exactly 0% chance to be unbanned globally. Battleye explicitly states on their website that it's your responsibility to not share your cd-key with friends or family members and that you are in full responsibility of your account. Tough break. -
Use an AS50 TWS and your attitude will change. It's like playing with a wallhack, and I'm not joking. Having that powerful of a weapon in your hand plus the heat scope is ridiculous. I found one once, over a month ago. I used it for about 2 hours, in an area where I could see both dobryy and counter-sniper hill in elektro, without any snipers being able to see me, and I was shooting 950m through trees without them even hearing the shot. I had 12 murders in 2 hours. Just picture the kind of power that gives a person.

Right, but you definitely need to update your files as the ones produced today in this new update weren't the newest ones to my knowledge. I know you can reload while the server is running. -
My server was updated to 96061 today, everything is up to date yet it's kicking me because the update won't go through since it fails to connect to BE's master server. Nothing I can do about that.

Right, so it's kicking for ONE remote execution event. Jesus christ. Everyone with managed servers better check your files or this new "hacker prevention" update is going to backfire rather quickly. Everyone with a vilayer server needs to goto community dayz ban list, and look browse for the latest files updated by dwarden, then edit/copy/paste the new lines into your folders. BEFORE you even start your server, or hackers will be able to do pretty much anything they want. I was setup and playing on my own managed server within 12 hours, but that's with vilayer who are closely tied with the dayz staff since roughly 45% of all dayz servers are hosted by them. Lol.Plus all their servers are guaranteed to meet specs.
