Alright, Listen... I know DayZ is a mod for Arma 2 and thus relies on scripts run in arma 2 in order to function, but is there anyway that rocket, and team, can basically remove this script from being run at all? It is entirely frustrating getting kill commanded by a hacker who opens his little cheat menu, highlights my name, and then presses "Execute" (Literally) and then I fall over and die. I can take the getting teleported and god mode, fine. At least I can ALT F4 out of the game. I know people are going to say "Wait for the standalone" but I'm asking if it's even possible. This type of command/script has no place in DayZ. I'm pretty sure we all know that. I'll be here for the standalone, I'm a faithful fan(not quite a fanboy I'd say) and will be here for the long haul... but getting kill commanded is absolutely infuriating and I think you guys should really figure out a way to blacklist this script from even being run in the DayZMod. Everyone knows the problem is bad. The battleye event logging feature came out, and it worked well for about 2 weeks. My server was kicking(and I was banning) people left and right for remote executions, but they've gotten around it by tricking the system. Oh, createvehicle kicks for "Ammobox"? Well, now hackers just write their script to spawn an ordinary medical box with all of the contents you'd find in a big ammo/weapon box so that the log will only log it, instead of kicking them. This happened to me today actually. I had a hacker teleport to me and salute, so I played along...being the admin I thought.. let me catch this guy in the act. So we were talking to him, and joking around and I said "Hey man, can you spawn me a weapon crate? I want a G36!" and he says "Sure thing." and a medical box spawns on the ground. I said "Isn't that just a medical box?" and he says "No, look inside of it. We can't spawn the regular ammobox anymore because logs kick for it" and that's when I said "You know what else hackers get kicked for? Being filmed and tricked by the fucking admin of this server. Enjoy your ban." Then I promptly restarted the server to get rid of the box. I hate to go on a rant about hacks, but my main point is... if there is any way that the developers can simply make this "kill player" script cease to even function, as in, not just kick for it but actually goto the core of it and make it not work at all, you'd be going a long way in hacker prevention, and like I said I know this is going to be worked out in stand-alone but that's still months away and 24hr concurrent player numbers are on the decline for this reason, and rocket getting hacked live on twitch.tv just hammers the point home. Battleye isn't doing it for you man, and you know it's not. I hope some of the battleye guys have undercover accounts on the popular arma 2 cheating sites so they can figure out a better way to stop this shit. I'm thankful dwarden and company released the new event logging, I truly am... but they've beaten the system again, and they did it quickly. We need to find a way to eliminate the bypass. Easier said than done. I'm sorry though, this was a rant more than anything. Just got kill commanded on a server with 4 people, I was in a small residential with only one entrance and no windows, and I just fell over dead while going through my backpack. Then I watched everyone else on the server(besides the culprit) die while I was at the dead screen. Good game, and fuck you and your $15/2 week bypass program. If only your parents knew what you were using their credit card for. Go outside and throw a fucking frisbee or something. /rant off. As far as the cd keys being stolen shit we're seeing battleye spamming on our servers, I truly have no remorse since this is happening when people click a link to download hacks on youtube. Karma.

You want your video memory on default always. Default allocates all of your video cards vram for the game. Where as Very high I believe only allocates 512mb. So if you have a card with 1gb or more of memory, always keep it on default. The more you know... :)

If I am in an area and getting artifacts, if I disconnect and completely close my client, then relaunch the game and rejoin the server, the artifacts are completely gone. It works all the time, although it's a temporary fix it should last long enough until you eventually leave the affected areas and go elsewhere. Otherwise, flush works about 30% of the time for me now. Still, the fact we haven't gotten a fix for this yet is kind of unacceptable. We realize the standalone is the pressing issue right now, but we need to be able to play the mod to continue testing it so the standalone can be as flawless as possible. There are quite a few gamebreaking bugs out right now that seem to have no attention what so ever. Like the fact I can dupe pretty much any weapon/consumable/clothing I want to if I have a friend with me to assist. I was shown this trick last night and I have to say it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen and WAY worse than the tent duping of 2.4

Hey all, I'm looking for a serious, tactical minded clan, but also a clan that can have fun during a not so stressful time in game. The group I've been playing with has slowly been dying out, and I was leading the squad for the time being. I do have some criteria I would want met so I'll list it. 1. 18 years and up please. 2. Bandits who raid, shoot to kill, and are organized in their activities. 3. Clans that value having a base of operations. 4. A group where everyone has at least a month of DayZ experience. Can navigate. Can accurately and quickly call out targets. 5. Teamspeak or Ventrilo. Not a fan of skype. 6. A group of guys who know how to balance playing to win with playing to have fun. Calling all streamers. I need some help, in a big way. I'm going to start streaming again, but no matter how I set up xsplit(using twitch), when I do stream, all I hear is static and echo, and everything else. Is there anyone on right now that's not too busy that can hop in my teamspeak and walk me through it step by step? I'm using a turtle beach earforce(newer model) and so far it's been an excellent headset. Sure it isn't an astro A40 but it's got great sound. I really want to get the stream up and running but I certainly can't do it with the way it's acting. My teamspeak information is 89.32.146.237:10017 Please look for Kevin. I can record with fraps/bandicam flawlessly, but I just can't stream to save my life. I have the internet speed for it. It's just whenever it goes live, you can barely hear in-game sound and all you hear is static and echo of people talking in my teamspeak. I'll tell you what. I hide bodies if they were well equipped, or got the jump on me and failed. If they were a lower "level" character, I leave em be. I feel no remorse when hiding a ghillied body holding an M4A1 CCO SD with an AS50 in his backpack. NONE.

Enlighten me. Is this something newer than the event logging(remoteexecution,createvehicle, and the more indepth script log?)? And where did the person who created the bypass say this? I believe that's "SoBeIt" right?

Don't care. I'd rather not let the hacker slip in than let him slip him and ruin legitimate players games. There's nothing controlling about that. Don't let how I'd run the process? Then join one of the other handful of locked servers that just give out the password based on a forum registration whitelist system, and then watch as your jaw hits the floor when you realize the amount of hackers on those locked servers aren't any less than the public hives. If a hacker wants in, he'll get in. The only way to prevent them, is to have a strict application process. That's what a COMMUNITY is FOR. You know, like the communities that existed when you were still in the womb? For games like Tribes 2, Call of Duty(The original), Medal of Honor, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Everquest, DAOC, Ultima Online. Yeah. I don't think I need to say more. The communities policed those games, and they were successful because of it.

It almost appears to be a script that nullifies damage based on quick reading but surely it would kick for that would it not? I'd really like to know what this is as it's coming up for myself included. Same with "Pilot = This;" or something along those lines.

Just do what I did. Wrote a ticket to Vilayer complaining about the state of the game and how horrid it is that everyone just has duped weapons and it's become nothing but an AS50 no scope competition in cherno and elektro. They reset my instance ID 30 minute after they received my ticket. Everything gone. All tents gone. All vehicles are in spawn locations. Loot spawning properly. The funny thing? They didn't just reset the ID. They gave me a NEW one. So now in my config, I have two instance IDs I can choose from. One that is loaded with dupe tents, and the other that is as clean as a whistle, where people are actually running around up north with winchesters, and AKMs, and sniping with CZ550s. Oh, and no more rangefinders and nvgs on every body. It's simply beautiful. It may have pissed some people off that had tents on my server full of 10+ L85s and AS50 and AS50 TWS variants, but they got what they deserved. Now they'll have to find them legitimately. And until the tents get fixed, there won't be any duping for the time being since its virtually impossible due to the broken tent mechanic. Truly lovely I tell you. Server still gets packed full though. It's rare to hear an AS50 being shot now, nand whenever you hear one, the person pulling the trigger on that beast better run for his life because the entire server is coming after him since they want to have it themselves since they cant just goto one of 20 tent locations that have one. :)

Take some notes from Sammy aka David Somin who posts montages. That is how it's done. Between the editting here, and the fact I just didn't see anything that made me go "Wow, this guy is good." Sorry to offend.

They were all playing fair. The server is what let the event down.

Hi Mike :P I was watching it too. Dymoxide, who I was rooting for, died due to nothing but desync. His game froze in the market(No msg received), and Crream shot him while he was frozen and couldn't defend himself. When he came to, he was alive for another FIVE minutes before he simply fell over and died in the barn. He wasn't shot again or anything. Some people are claiming people were trying to DDOS the server, but who knows how reliable that is. As far as the invisible guy, those are spectators running around to my knowledge. Just a shame. When there's prizes involved, you can't have lag killing people. It's not fair to the players. No way in hell. I would of been furious. For an event that was in planning for weeks now, it's pretty bad. I mean, if public hive servers run well enough with 60+ players, this should of been no problem at all. I think either the server was just shit, or someone truly was attacking the server. There's no way they should of experienced that amount of lag, and they should of immediately prompted a reset, or a reschedule. Giving away prizes simply based on who got lucky enough to shoot someone desyncing while they weren't doesn't mean they deserved to win. Skill and placement should of determined the winner here. Not who had less lag at what specific time. :(
