Tis what I do. If your camp gets raided, it's a sign you didn't hide it good enough and you deserve to lose it. No "friendly" is going to have all those weapons in my experience with this game, and I guarantee they are being used for PKing purposes, IE: Bandits and well... destroying tents is a solid part of banditry. Do onto others as they would do onto you. I can't tell you how many tents I've raided, and destroyed when I was finished. As well as taking vehicles I didn't need, and destroying them so they'd respawn for someone else to find. When I find a vehicle hoarders camp with 3 or more vehicles there, I have a fucking field day. Especially if I find grenades in their vehicles. I'll destroy them all and leave typically the worst of them still standing, with some blown out tires of course and I'll put a .50 round into the engine, not to break it fully, but just so it's pretty much fully red. I HATE vehicle hoarders. 1 or 2? Fine. The whole god damn server worth of vehicles? Pray I don't find your shit.

No. If anything, they should just have their drop rates lowered even more than they already are. The gun is already pretty rare. It wouldn't hurt to make it a bit more rare considering it's a counter-snipers dream gun. You truly can live fear-free if you have one as long as you keep doing a quick 360 scan around you every so often. That kind of perk needs to be made EXTREMELY rare. I want to be able to obtain it, I want others to obtain it and use it, I just want getting it to feel like a really fortunate event. I've seen several as of now. It's already obtained via chopper crashes, but as we know... chopper crashes are easy to find, more so if you have a vehicle to roam the map in(Bikes are great for this sort of thing). Just decrease the drop rate a little bit in my opinion. This way, maybe only a couple people per server are ever alive with one, and it would feel "special" (I use that term loosely) to have it.

Don't goto NEAF looking for antibiotics, it's wide open and more often than not, server hopping snipers will spawn up on olsha hill, which is NE of the actual strip, just outside the tree line. Plus you won't find them there. Goto berezino and check the hospitals, that's your best bet.

Love seeing these kind of threads were people put out a bounty on someone. I doubt much will pay attention to it, but it's better than name & shaming someone just to bitch about it.

Me personally, I would of led him to a secluded area, so I couldn't of been shot dicking around, and then told him to run the opposite way for about 5 minutes, or probably a little over 1000m. And I would of watched him until he was out of my line of sight. Then left. I wouldn't of shot him again. The first time? Definitely.

1911/Silenced M9 depending on the situation. For player killing purposes? 1911 all the way. For getting around quietly and dealing with zeds? Silenced M9 if you can aim/get headshots.

The server that has frozen zombies? Did they ever fix that? Anyway, I don't think it' anything to do on his end. I have pretty much the fastest cable internet available in my area, and I'm experiencing the same thing. Tons of desync. Lots of yellow/red chains almost constantly. Running 100m and getting teleported back 100m. It's not just me, my whole squad experiences it at the same time. Just last night we must of tried 15 different servers. 5 of them crashed. The rest had tons of desync. I second what someone else already said. 1.7.1.5 was much more stable, and at times I've thought of rolling back to it since I still have the files saved.

With how easy it is to spot tents and vehicles from a ways off that belong to other players, even when they try to hide them as best they can despite the placement bugs, I was thinking... What about some type of camo netting? Not solid as to completely block your vision of the object, but just something to break up the outlines of the tent? By now, no place on the map is safe for a tent unless you go outside the boundaries and we all know that's not allowed and is completely retarded, but if we had some way of further breaking up a tents outline while placed in cover, our valuables could be a lot more hidden from tent hunters, and other bandits. I don't know how it would work, it would need to be placed around the tent, but I think rocket may have the capacity to do this. Anyone else think of this?

I love reading stories like this, although sometimes I think it's someone just scribbling down a story and posting it on the boards without it actually happening. There's no way for me to know that it is, or isn't true.. so I'll just give you the benefit of the doubt. Good story, and even though you said "I don't need to record everything I do on video games..",.. this kind of thing would of been incredible to watch on a vid. You really should download recording software(Recommend a program called Bandicam) and just turn it on when cool things happen, because hey even if you don't post up the footage, at least you have it to watch back and reflect on what had happened.

I haven't logged in or updated yet today so I can't know for sure, however.. http://www.own3d.tv/Oshi7/video/711615 If you watch that video, around 46:30, you can see the second guy attempt to pull his M107 out as his primary, and it immediately spits his backpack out onto the ground. If the bag was just full, the gun would of been deleted. There would of been no reason for the backpack to fall off. And actually, in Arma II, you could not have an M107 equipped with a backpack as well. Strange.

Dude, the reason you are getting so much negative backlash is because this is shunned upon by the developers of the game itself and is considered cheating. People aren't bitching at you for their health, their bitching because you are openly admitting to exploiting a mechanic, yes...EXPLOITING, and you have no problems with it. Get a clue dude.

1. I'd be happy with game purchase only, but if it was a monthly subscription(Say maybe $10) I'd happily pay it. I don't support free to play/pay to win type models what so ever. 2, Studio development. When it gets down to the wire, I'd want the studio to work as hard as possible to create a stable release scenario. 3. Kickstarter for sure. I think a lot of people in this community would not pitching a little money your way to help the development process. 4, Both studio and community servers, as it is now. So we can purchase and host our own dedicated servers, and also kick/ban people as we deem necessary. Good luck Dean.

M14 is a great weapon. My favorite battle rifle. It can reach out and touch something as long as you can acquire the target with the CCO optics. Would I take it over an AS-50? No way, since I'm pretty skilled with a sniper rifle in DayZ/Arma II and have been practicing with them since before DayZ was even out. I'm comfortable with my M107 out to around 1000m and I've hit targets at that range many times. Furthest I've hit was a shade under 1200, and it was a very hard shot. Bullet took almost 3 seconds to hit the target. They were looting. If they weren't, I would of never hit them. The chance for someone to move slightly left or right in those 3 seconds it takes to reach the target is very high, so your shot window is very small. It's almost a "Must be looting" situation. If I was gearing up and found an M14, I'd be a very happy man. It's a DMR without the scope, and it packs a punch. But with my current kit I have no need for one. I have my weapon for long engagements, and my weapon for close quarters engagements where I need to keep it quiet and also for dropping a zed without alerting a player to my current position.

This game has gotten over 600,000 unique players since it's beginning, and it hasn't had a SHRED of marketing to promote it other than word of mouth on the internet. Just wait until this game actually gets MARKETING, and the amount of publicity it gets soars. The game will break 1 million players, with ease. I absolutely guarantee it.

What a bunch of bitches. They could of stayed low and bailed out once they saw you rushing their position. Due to the fact they had the height advantage, he would of been mostly fine since your vision was partially obstructed by the hill. He was kind of in an Enfilade position. Not a very good one, but a minor one none the less.

Guy spawns in behind me and is throwing grenades(overthrowing like crazy), ME: Challenge Accepted.. So I turn and hit him point blank range and see the blood spatter with the M107. Pretty much directly in the face. He starts popping shots at me with a CZ 550 and missing. So I did the unthinkable, alt f4'd him. Before he shot his CZ, he was throwing a grenade like every other second, way faster than normally possible. Could of been lag though. That's how certain I am that you would of logged out in a second. I said in my post specifically.. I do not combat log unless I'm squaring off against someone hacking in any way. The fact you act like you wouldn't, or simply don't have the brain capacity to even read a few sentences, is ASTONISHING. REALLY. Like, do you realize a .50 cal round at that range will do 50K+ damage? And then I was able to switch to my secondary, and get all 15 rounds out of my M9 in about 2 seconds via mouse smashing into his back, and basically just sits there like "DERP". Yeah, I'm not losing this 10 day old character with pretty much everything to that bullshit, period. He basically just stood there. It was like the person had no idea what to even do with the game, but someone found a script to make himself not suffer any damage. There wasn't any desync at the time. And I was able to basically run circles around him all the way his body is twitching out and throwing grenades as fast as I can fire a gun, and it wasn't the hacked semi automatic grenade launcher that you often see idiots script into the game. He was just trying to lob them in any direction he could to try and kill me with splash damage. And then he switched to a CZ-550 which to be honest, I have no idea why he had it other than the fact maybe he just wasn't a very experienced scripter, and starts popping shots at me so after doing enough damage to him to kill most likely TWO PEOPLE, I hit the ground, roll, and log out. I kept my shit, and he's off hacking still most likely. Bullshit, but whatever. He also appeared 5 meters behind me. Out of no where. No one else had joined the server as well, so it wasn't a hopper. You will NEVER catch me combat logging against a legitimate player, even if they have the jump on me and it's a situation I'm going to lose. Ran into an interesting glitch today with my M107. I had 3 mags on me at the time, since that's pretty much all I'd ever need, and the server had crashed. When I came back in, my gun was loaded and had 14 available rounds in the magazine, even though it's a 10 round capacity magazine. I tested this, since I had plenty of mags back at camp anyway, on a low population server in a very rural area with no zeds, etc. It let me fire off 14 rounds before I had to reload, and then each magazine afterwords had the proper 10 rounds in it. Weird. I know it has nothing to do with ghillies but thought i'd mention it. Also, thank god I came across this post. I found a Ghillie suit on a body, since I imagine the guy was holding onto it. And I was just about to put it on since I had heard it was fixed and I thought to myself "You know what, I'm not going to take a chance. When I see confirmed proof, with videos to back it up, I'll equip it. I can wait." Thank god I did. I don't want to deal with that shit.

Velocity isn't as important as the energy the bullet is carrying with it when it reaches the target. More energy = More trauma = More internal damage = deads. For example, a 7.62x51mm round has a muzzle energy of around 2,800 ft lbs. A .50 BMG round? Around 11,100 ft lbs. ;) So when it hits soft tissue, that's the amount of force received to the body. Granted the bullet energy will decrease over distance quite significantly. Which is why we have max "effective" ranges.
