Honesty, this is just my opinion -- and I'm really sorry if I offend anyone but this is truly how I feel. Some people in this thread have made some very good points about BE, and how it functions. To me, and I've updated to the latest beta, have no intention of rolling back and I haven't been banned.. it seems that battle-eye did something right with this update and some of the main stream scripts(but not all..) were caught, and people who had used them, maybe just once in the past, got caught because of evidence in the back logs. If EVERYONE was getting banned, we'd see a much larger out cry then this. We have almost 200,000 players playing concurrently during peak hours, over 1 million total... Yet, we have seen maybe 50-100 or so people claim they've been banned. Between DayZ forums and Reddit, etc. The cliche thing to do, is claim something went foul in an update. It's a natural reaction of someone who really expected never to get caught, but finally did. Well, unless you're a crazy sociopath mass murderer who takes pride in what he does, but for some reason I'll take it on faith that these people are just normal people. I know anti-cheats can make mistakes, but in my gaming history, I've never seen a foul up this large that was totally unintended. Battleye is paid to know what they're doing when it comes to the anti cheat program... they haven't been able to stay on top of the VIP hacking since they update as frequently if not more so than BE does. Every time BE gets close to finding the solution, certain hacks get updated and continue to bypass BE. If you truly are innocent and this truly is a screw up on BE's part, I'm sorry for offending you, or anyone.. But, until I see an official statement from BE claiming their mistake, I just can't help but think everyone here who's saying "I'm legit and I've been banned" is just grasping at straws.

As long as the option is there for everyone to have this advantage, you can't really call it unfair. What is unfair is people who use hacked weapons and then try and say "Well I didn't spawn it in, and I killed the hacker so I deserve it!" No, you don't...because the only way it can be obtained is via cheating. Editing a simple .cfg file is an easy task and done is almost every game. If it's right in front of peoples faces and they don't use the advantage, that's a user error.. not a question of unfair advantages.

Firepower to the People: my new end game plan
KField86 replied to LaurenDanger's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I gave some random unarmed guy on my server an L85 with 5 stanag magazines. It was his first time playing the game as I had to tell him how to access direct comms and chat. Of course I had someone with crosshairs on his face the entire time, and I pulled out my AS50 and put the barrel up his nose.. but yea I told him to wait until I was out of his line of sight to pick up the gun. My one good deed for the month of august. No more until september. :P As much as I love the L85 for spotting, I really was tired of having a gameshark(thermal) at my finger tips and went back to an M4A1 SD(Trying to find a holo) -
Save your tent every time you put in an item there and it will still be there after the restart. This is how people abuse duping, and I agree with someone else. Once there is a fix in, we need a complete wipe of tents and vehicles. I say that knowing I have an L85/AS50/Ghillie/NVG/Rangefinders/Coyote and all the tools on two different characters now(Well ok, one has an SVD camo),. There pretty much isn't perma-death anymore, since everyone just throws all their equipment in a tent, saves it, and then pulls it all back out so that if they die after the server is restarted, they can just run off to their tent and have all their gear back again within an hour because when you press save, it's saving whats in the tent at that moment and not registering that you took it back out, thus creating a duplicate... Without even so much as going into one city to loot anything. It's atrocious honestly. It's so out of hand now, that I'm finding tents at the NWAF with AS50s and silenced M4s in them, along with nightvision and rangefinders. Tents that are not hidden in the slightest. No one sets up a trap tent with that gear inside knowing theirs a potential chance someone could loot something and immediately alt f4 with that item. It's because the value of these items has decreased substantially. This is almost becoming as big a problem as hacking itself(Although I see BE has been on the hunt harder than ever. Props.)

Very true. I've sniped probably 10-15 people in the town now since I've started playing. A lot of people stop there right before the airfield as said, and I'll be on the mountain to the west and I can overlook both the supermarket and office, as well as one or two of the brick residential doorways. A lot of people assume it's a safehaven with good loot to be had, clothing, pistols, food, water, tents, backpacks, low tier weapons, etc. Then they find out it's not when they hear the ZIPPPPPP CRACK sound and are staring at the scoreboard going WTF? ;) People don't think they need to scout the perimeter of a place like Vybor before going straight in, so it sets a lot of people up to be engaged from long range where they haven't even thought to look.

Was that during the wave of "Somalian Pirates" hackers? Wouldn't be surprised.

It's due to the ridiculous amount of scripters getting the AS50 TWS into the game now that every time someone hears an AS50 being fired, they automatically shout "HACKERS HE MUST HAVE TEH THERMALZz!!". It honestly seems everyone and their brother use the AS50 now. I've actually swapped back to an M107 because I was tired of shooting the same gun as every other kid. I'm never going to get a shot past say 1100 meters anyway(longest confirm kill was 1051m with an M107 as well), so the extra range of the zeroing doesn't matter too much to me. The only thing I miss about the AS50 is the lower recoil between sights, so target re acquisition takes a little longer for that follow up shot...but with rangefinders, it usually only takes me 1 round to put someone back on the coast. Plus, the M107 just sounds so proper for a .50 cal when it's fired. That satisfying large caliber rifle sound. The boom-CRACK.sound, idk it's hard to explain. I go deer hunting so, in a county that allows both shotgun(slugs) and rifle use. You can immediately tell the difference between a 12ga being fired and a rifle getting fired. A shotgun just has this BOOOM sound. Where as a typical .308 caliber rifle has this crack that follows the boom. Lol, I'm getting sidetracked. TLDR: Sometimes I really think the M107 is a better rifle in this game. It's a loud son of a bitch, but it's as accurate if not more so than an M24(what I believe is one of the most accurate weapon systems in the game) out to 1000. Don't believe me? Download the shooting range mod, put a target out to 1000 meters. Take 5 shots with the AS50 and 5 with the M107 with the rifled zero'd to 1000. I guarantee with the AS50, zero'd to 1000, you're not going to hit where your crosshair is a couple of times and you'll have to compensate manually. That was my findings over a couple of hours of testing. Plus I prefer the extra zoom being the right mouse button over the numpad + and - with the AS50. Different strokes for different folks. I love both guns to be fair.

First order of business, goto skalisty island and see if the admins have a camp out there. Also check the helicopter spawn while you're there. :) You may get lucky.

I used this fix. It works 100%. I have the link as well. -
To the guy in Stary Last night.
KField86 replied to shadow_moses's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Why do people make posts like these? You realize there's almost 4000 servers online at the moment right? You also realize that there's people dying at stary probably every minute of the day across the servers. :/ -
Hacker teleported me - But i reacted quickly
KField86 replied to HeHeHe's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Happened to me on my server just a little while ago though. Thankfully all the guys on teamspeak were quick enough to abort, and so was I. I was in a random spot in the hills east of elektro, and all of a sudden my leg breaks and then 2 guys on teamspeak say "my legs just broke wtf?" and I started screaming ABORT ABORT ABORT. I've seen that hack in a video before, where the hacker just breaks the entire servers legs, teleports you to him and then has his way with you. We all survived because we were quick enough, but about 13 people died. I checked the logs, and of course nothing appears out of the ordinary. Fucking bypasses. I have a lead on the guy I think did it, but I can't put out a ban just for that alone. If only I had more evidence, but alas... I don't. -
Sniper vs Huey (A very intense fire fight)
KField86 replied to mythlawlbear's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Bad ass video dude. Love the music in it as well. Makes me want to go and use my SVD since I haven't used it in quite some time. -
Going ball's deep and surviving like a boss!
KField86 replied to jamestrendall's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Someone did this to me in elektro while I was there providing overwatch for a buddie who was just killed and needed to loot the town. I was not there to camp lowbies, but I would engage anyone who attempted to kill my friend. A squad of two heavily armed people were approaching my friend who was unarmed(had a makarov I guess you can count that) in the super market. As they were trying to flank around the back, I waited until the first member stopped to peak in the back doors. AS50 claims his life within a second. Silent death. As soon as the guy goes down, I imagine he tells his buddy "Sniper on the hill" so he starts rushing my position(about 300m and closing) and just constantly zig zagging to avoid any incoming fire. So, I wait. I watch his pattern, trying to distinguish when he'll strafe left and right, and to get an idea of when I need to fire. Within about 5-10 seconds I figure it out and drop the zero on my as50. As he's zig zagging, I lead him a good bit and fire. He runs straight into the bullet and drops dead only 230m out. Coyote backpack, nvg, rangefinders, M4A3 CCO, M4A1 CCO SD, etc etc was the loot to be had from the 2 bodies. Geared my friend up and we bailed out in about 5 minutes and headed towards stary. This happened 2 days ago.. Just goes to show you... zig zagging won't help you against every sniper you come across. The ones who just start firing immediately? Yeah, those probably won't hit you. Someone with patience? Well, they have everything they need. Good luck to you mate. ;) -
Going to keep this short and sweet. I run a little group of guys who all enjoy playing DayZ together. We use tactics, we think ahead, and we're always one step ahead if at all possible(Which is not the case 100% of the time, as we know in this game.). We're all mature, but we can joke around and take the piss at each other without being offended. There is swearing, and jokes but when the time comes to be serious, everyone knows how to take orders and keep their shit together. This is a huge plus when it comes to being a squad, and I will not take on any new players unless they have a similar mindset, plain and simple. If you think you're a person like that, please feel free to add me on steam @ Kevin51501. Some more info. We currently have a server. I am admin over at US 1313 right now. It's currently low population since it's a newer server and with the influx of new server openings, there are just far too many servers. We hope this will change with time. It is an east coast Vilayer server, performance is great, load in times are fantastic, etc. Usually it's run in day-time if I can help it, but I like to throw a night cycle in their if I can to change it up. We also use teamspeak, therefore you must have a working mic. If you play on the server, I make it mandatory that you're on teamspeak if you know that others from the squad are playing there as well, to completely eliminate any chance of possible blue on blue and the consequences that come with it. Also, if you haven't figured it out yet by the forum this is posted in, we are bandits. Mercenaries. Whatever you want to call us. We are not friendlies, we take what we want, we don't hesitate. What I expect of you: 1. A tactical mindset. Maturity. Commitment to the game. 2. Knowledge of the game, and the gear within it. 3. 3 weeks or more of DayZ experience 4. Working microphone 5. 18yrs + I know this sounds judgemental, and I apologize for being that way.. However, I've had some problems recently with younger people and I'd like to avoid those problems if at all possible. I know younger kids can be mature, and I don't doubt that. It's just, every time I've had a problem, it has to do with someone who is young who told me "I'm mature, I really am." and that ended up being called into question later on down the road. 6. No hacking, or using illegitimate items. No duping. No bullshit. Simple as that. We are not a clan, we are a community of gamers. We do not operate as an official clan. There are no ranks. We are a squad when it comes to DayZ and no one is more entitled to anything than the next person in line. I'm only looking for possibly half a dozen people, if that... so I will talk to everyone and make a decision as quickly as possible. If you're interested, feel free to add my steam and send me a message, or pm me here on the forums and I'll get in touch with you as quickly as possible. I'm sorry, but at the time I am not making any exceptions to the rules listed. I'm looking for a very specific kind of player, and I know these kinds of players are out there. Hope to talk to some people soon. -KFieLd

[TRADE] two Soldier clothing! looking for some guns
KField86 replied to tonybravo's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
+1. Exactly. Peoples ignorance is truly astounding. Every day I see at least a dozen people saying the old "Well, I didn't hack it in, so that makes it fine for me to use it even though it doesn't belong in the gayme!11!1 hurp durppppppp". So, you did approximately 50% less work than the hacker who scripted it in, and now instead of him using it, you're going to. It's pretty much no different than you playing as a hackers accomplice or friend in the game. I'll just continue to laugh at people who say this and then try and justify it as "We deserve the gear". No, EVERYONE deserves the chance to loot that gear and if they don't have that chance without a HACKER somehow being involved in the process, then they do NOT deserve it. Fucking such a simple concept. Play the game the right way, with all legitimate items. I can't wait until they give server admins more powers and lessen the ban restrictions, because I would love to start banning every single person I see with an illegitimate item in their inventory within a matter of 30 seconds of them logging into the server. The playing field should be as even as possible, and by using hacked items willingly, you're going against that. -
Happened to me, but I beat the hack. I pressed abort, and OK literally a split second before I hit the ground. Logged back in, and I was prone on the ground with no harm done. ;) Eat it fuck face hackers.

Found an M14 AIM, how rare are they?
KField86 replied to shypatrick's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's that percentage PER loot drop. So if there are 5 or 6 possible loot spawns at the chopper, usually like 3 guns, possible ghillies/camo, med supplies or ammo boxes, you multiply that percentage times the number of spawns per chopper and there's the chance it'll be there. At least, to my knowledge. -
Been away from Day Z for 2 months. WTF has happend!
KField86 replied to Evilsausage's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Others have said it, but server admins don't have those powers. We don't have infinite power when it comes to our servers especially if we have a hoster we're renting from, like Vilayer. Hackers do all this shit, man. BE cannot update as quickly as they update these VIP hacks we're seeing that neck-beards are paying monthly for. It's like $15 to hack for TWO weeks or something stupid. And massive amounts of people are paying it to have the bypasses. Ugh. -
Explain? Is that in the config or something? The only thing I've done to try and get rid of the glitches is the flush command in the console but it only works about 30% of the time.
-
Considering the man himself has said multiple times now is that his motive behind adding dogs is to make them companions, yes...yes they do. I for one don't really care for this change. Doesn't spark my interest all that much. Sure it will be cool, and it won't make the game worse but meh...not that exciting really for me. I'm still waiting for him to confirm a new map will be made for chernarus when it becomes the winter season, and we have a snow covered chernarus, and the temperature system becomes much more important.
-
I do it for reactions just like this, because people like you don't realize it's a fucking game, and I'm going to get enjoyment out of playing it. However that may be. Don't like it? Tough shit? Or, should I go around holding hands with everyone I see and then not knowing if they'll shoot me if they happen to get a gun before me, or just somewhere down the road and take my supplies. It's about survival. It's about YOU. The avatar you're controlling. Keeping yourself alive as long as possible, and doing so by any means necessary. Simple as that. if I kill someone, it's one less potential threat I have to worry about killing me at some later point. No, to be fair, I don't shoot anyone unless I see them with a potential weapon to kill me, and yes this even includes axes. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to invite every noob over and sit around a camp fire over a can of beans with him. What's next? Are we going to be able to share food and eat out of the same can? I can see it now, get a can of pasta, and recreate lady & the tramp with your fellow survivor. Everyone's happy now!

DO NOT GO TO AIRFEILD UNPREPARED!
KField86 replied to harley001's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
How do you even see to snipe people at the NWAF? It's full of graphical bugs. I can barely see maybe one or two angles on certain areas, but the fire station, barracks(both of em), ATC, and even trying to cover the western sniper mound behind the wall(with the hay bale field behind it) it's just blinding. Sometimes I can get lucky with the flush command but usually it doesn't make it any better, just changes where the graphical bugs are. I don't go out there because I don't want to get hit by someone who can see me, but I can't see them because of the glitches. -
Lol I ran into a CQF guy in a private hive server one time. I really can't remember his name, but jesus christ was he the most pre pubescent trash talking hairless ballsack having kid I've ever met. This thread reminded me of my encounter with him, well...encounter I should say. We went back and forth in elektro killing each other with lee enfields, and everytime he'd get me, he'd brag about it like it was an MLG Call of Duty match or some shit lmao. Then, I'd kill him...and he'd say "bs". I giggled every time.
