i agree with this. starting gear should be re valuated. and starting without a backpack is the right direction imho. your ship started to sinking and you decided to take mandatory stuff with you, what would you take? of course back pack. 1 bandage, box of painkillers and large flashlight, that somehow wasnt destroyed by the water. seems to be a good choice. in this situation you would probably lost everything. and the most likely you would retain some small items like compass, watch(if its waterproof), and a knife(if you hope to survive, taking a knife is your best bet).

Since DayZ is FFO death match game, its kinda hard for me to kill someone due to how bad mouse controls are: axes doesnt match looking up is faster then moving down x axis is way to slow even doubled then ingame setting allows you. and other shit. such bad control can only be encountered in console ports, but arma 2 isnt a console port. I know that fucked up mouse controls are arma 2 thing, and it wont be fixed(3 years since release and still same crap) any time soon. but can we expect appropriate controls for PC shooter in standalone game?

i`ve set vsync off and smoothing to almost minimal and aiming became acceptable still awkward but better. it seems its the best it can be. but anyway, i hope in standalone game mouse controls will become appropriate for PC shooter like in PAYDAY:The Heist, Left 4 Dead etc.. without tinkering with graphical settings. and with option to set sensitivity for free view and iron sights.

it wont prevent duping, but could reduce it -
and what can be wrong with 90-100 fps? this is the only game(except shitty console ports) that has issue with mouse controls. when i set x and y to the same value i wont for them to feel the same, which game doesnt do.

i`ve set max prerendered frames to 1 and still not it. axes still not match and looking up/down is kinda choppy. even though there is some tinkering that i`m missing, will solve this issue, this is not how controls for PC game have to be also id like too see separate settings for normal view and iron sight, in the standalone game.

morphine should only be spawned in the hospital and military stands. you dont see morphine often in civilian buildings

the thing is, that community want DayZ to become a real world simulator with added zombies. and the current engine(at least modable part of it) doesnt cut it. i`m up for the parkour, because you can do that stuff in real life, but not until weight will be implemented. its already fun to watch how people running with Barret/As50 and couple of barbed wire kits(about 20 kg each) in their pockets and some tank traps(80kg each) in their backpack. if you want to do parkour you have to do it almost without addition weight

i guess assembling guns from prefabricated parts, was meant in the beginning of the thread. creating guns from the scratch would be to complicated to implement.

my bad, chose wrong words. its not mandatory but speeds up process for sure, at least that i can remember from my experience of wound treating.

same story all over again... nothing new. its all about trolling i guess -
gauze bandages also allows oxygen access which is required for blood coagulation. and it also has other purposes. if you want to stop loosing blood material with good absorption capabilities isnt your option - they will just absorb blood out of you. if i need to stop bleeding in wilderness without bandage i will use usual cloth rags soaked with alcohol, and be just fine. if i have access to trees i will apply leaf(washed in alcohol if possible) directly to the wound to ease process of removal and then tie it with cloth rag. and if bleeding stopped(couple of hours, to be sure) ill remove it, to speed up coagulation process, of course if there wont be any risk of wound contamination.

blood absorption of a bandage depends on cloth thickness and quantity of layers. if we are talking about gauze bandage which is the most common(and thus most likely to be found in DayZ), it will require multiple layers of it to stop bleeding or dense cloth rag/piece of cotton wool(nasty shit but does the trick).and usual cloth made of more dense material then gauze is, and thus you need less of it. but chances that its contaminated are lot higher

well bandaging takes approximately 40sec - 2min, depending on wound location. but when you applied bandage and made 1-2 wraps around, you are already dont lose blood, or at least not so intense. so it would be close to reality, if bleeding was suspended at the start of the process, and completely stopped at the end of it.

dont see any difference between usuall cloth rag and a bandage in terms of stopping bleeding. except bandage is antiseptic. but if rag was soaked in alcohol it will do the same trick why there always should be penalty for treating bullet wounds on your own? i`d say the chance that something will go wrong while treating bullet wound by yourself should be implemented, because its actually random when you can treat wound solo or not. a like the idea of hunting knife usage, and i would be also great to cauterize wounds with it, combined with campfire, which will stop bleeding but will cause a pain status.

and again, there was no argument why you cant give yourself blood trasfusion. and wont be. why? because its a stupid limitation, similar to turning FF off. imho bloodbags should be nerfed. i agree that there should be mechanics that influence team work but blood transfusion doesnt fit this role.
