i just love arguments like that.. it sounds like:"lets add zombies in our game, as an excuse for lame physics. no one would care about laws of physics, because we have zombies in our game!"

the current system is too clunky and somehow dumb. imagine yourself a survivor from dayz: you stand in front of a loot pile with drawn primary, and you decided to swap to your secondary.your first thought will be "check loot pile", second one will be "swap to secondary" and only then you holster your primary weapon, and draw secondary. looks dumb, doesnt it? i dont see any problem with changing weapons on key tap, but it should take time for your character to holster current weapon, and the draw a second one. as for melee weapons, i think there should be a melee slot. because i dont see any reason not be able to do that. 1 you keep your primary weapon on your back via sling. 2 pistol is kept in your thigh holster 3 melee is kept on your belt

well, there shouldnt be a "balance" you just use tools you have to survive. what you need to gut an animal? a sharp blade. what item have it? knife and a hatchet. making game close to reality, doesnt always means to make it harder, some times it makes it easier -
the main issue with night in arma is that stars doesnt provide any light. so if there are stars in sky or not its same shit. the second issue is your survivors damaged brain, that doesnt allows him to use pistol and flashlight at the same time, or attach it to primary weapon or your body(head, shoulder). which is all engines limitation. if this issues werent exist, threads like this wouldnt exist

so running around with heavy AMR`s and MG with huge recoil is ok with everyone, but dual wielding a pistol makes you rambo. dayz community is so fucking logical lol.

i`m fine with removal of AM snipers and MGs, because absence of weight system, that affects weapon hading and mobility, makes them op. -
close quarters pvp? does that thing even exist? i though pvp in this game only limited to sniping with as50. but jokes aside. yes dual wielding pistol is possible, and its not about accuracy. its about spraying bullets. such technique can be treated as budget version of smg

fixed for you. stars in arma arent sources of light.

of course you wont see shit in the woods, during the night, cuz leaves block all the light. but in the open field there is no problem to see 5-20 meters in front of you, if there are stars in sky.

rising gamma its an exploit that helps to stand against poorly designed night. being unable too see your hands during night, with lots of stars in the sky, yeah, so realistic...

fuck you and your snipers. zombies shouldnt be an indicator that someone is in that city that you are sniping from a 1km. in "real" life they will be there regardless if there is someone around or not. -
why the fuck it should suck? it piece a heavy piece of metal, and if you hit average human with it he will be knocked down, or at least stunned. since infected seems to be in worst shape that normal humans, it mean that they should be knocked down . since we probably cant stun and knock down infected, with crowbar due to some unknown reason(probably limitations) i`d say crowbar has to have appropriate damage then

fuck that whiners. the only thing that zombies do is indicating if player is in the city for snipers. apart that they are just useless meat. so when you have a gun and zombies aint a threat anymore, game becomes arma back, with addition of scavenging element

damn, why not give people that non-pvp servers so they could get bored to death on them?

after reading some threads about about thirst and water i`ve came up with this idea. why not split thirst and hydration into 2 meters, instead of one? thirst meter - represent how thirsty you are,can be reset only by water. hydration meter - represent how well your body hydrated. can be reset by water and soda(partially, due to soda contains less actual water) both of these meters of course are affected by temperature of environment, your movement speed etc. if thirst meter is empty, its increase drain rate of hydration meter(dont think it should be a big effect, but it should be), and when its drained, you start to lose blood. side note to ease thing up there should be added plastic bottles with mineral water, the can be consumed to reset thirst and hydration meters, but also to fill the water bottles, to save space

finding soda is actually easy, which is looks dumb for me. and the fact that soda is better then water is way more dumber. having 2 meter for thirst and hydration, seems logical to make soda an water different.
