  1. Sorry for the long delay in responding to this, but I had to wait for bad weather again for testing it. Turning off post-processing did seem to help quite a bit. When there's a lightning flash now, it does slightly and briefly obscure my vision, but it's not a solid white screen that takes several seconds to fade, nor does it flash on and off in a seizure inducing pattern anymore
  2. This only seems to happen occasionally, usually during bad weather, but I'll get something akin to a lightning effect, but much more visually distracting. My screen will flash white (obscuring all vision) several times rapidly over 3 or 4 seconds and then go completely white for a solid two seconds or so and then fade back to view, and then a few seconds later it starts again. The lightning has it so that my vision is obscured 40% of the time. I imagine it can't be like this for everybody so I'm just wondering what settings I have to fiddle around with to get this fixed

    Does respawning leave a corpse?

I learned things, surely. However, I'll be honest, I've learned more in the hour since I've had the hatchet than I did in all the hours before that. Being able to defend yourself makes exploration so much easier. I really think people should start with a crowbar.

    Does respawning leave a corpse?

Just a matter of convenience, really. I'm still new enough where I don't know the map or building layouts well, and I was also already down to around 4000 blood and don't have any friends that play to transfuse me. It basically came down to the fact that I'm super cautious (been playing around 7 or 8 hours of this game so far, I'm only on my third life (after the respawn) with 0 kills/0murders and after all that sneaking around and time invested, this was the first time I'd gotten enough to get started (weapon+supplies). Took me that many hours to gather the things, about 20 minutes to run back to the corpse.
  5. On my second life, and finally, I find a weapon (hatchet). I find some food and drink to boot. I'm all ready to get the hell out of Elektro when I open a door while prone and it breaks my leg I spent twenty minutes crawling some place safely out of town If I hit the respawn button, does my old body leave a corpse so I can go get my things? Or do I have to actually be killed (i.e. I have to go find some zombies to kill me)

Help - Stuck at "Loading" screen

Yeesh. Same thing here, I don't know if I'm relieved or not that so many other people are experiencing it. I mean, it sucks, but the more people having the issue the more likely it gets resolved. I also seem to get some sort of file not found (something about weaponfile I think) prompt inbetween joining a server and the loading screen, so I'm just going to keep attempting to join servers in case I'm just attempting to log onto a whole bunch of out of date hosts. Shame, too, just got this Friday
  7. Oh really? It doesn't increase my visibility to them at all?
  8. I'm finding it difficult as well, but I think I started at the worst time for a lot of reasons. I started off at night, first off (with a flash light that only turns on or off half the time, for whatever reason). I actually haven't died yet, but that's because I'm starting to think I might have overemphasized in my head how important stealth is. I was more or less under the impression that you can't draw zombie aggro ever if you don't have a gun, and of the three towns I've been to so far, there hasn't been less than 15 zombies in any of them. This has sort of led to me not approaching them at all because I can't see anything, am afraid to turn on my flashlight and have no means of defending myself if they breach my line of site. I suppose I'm going to have to learn to be a little more aggressive with the trying and the dying. Haven't drawn any zombie aggro yet in this game, but the only things I've looted were two newbie corpses with extra flashlights/painkillers/bandages, and I'm pretty sure I'm about to get my first death regardless (dehydration)

    Flashlight still not working!

I actually registered to ask this exact question, glad I did a search first. Only found out about the game last night, but a couple hour sof watching youtube videos was all the convincing I needed. I read all the newbie guides and just logged in like 20 minutes ago. "Huh. No guns now. Ok. Oh, neat, we start with a flashlight" *equip* *press L* "Neat, light" *press L, nothing happens* *press L, nothing happens* *Presses L six or seven more times, it turns off, finally" "press L again, still off" Repeat. I was wondering if that was maybe just a display issue on my part ( like maybe it really is turning on and off and flickering to everybody else, but not to me) I don't know
