Hello, I tested now Dayz for the first time and played like 5-6 new Characters on different Servers. But everytime I start/spawn I only have a bandage, some painkillers and if I'm lucky a flashlight, but that's all. Is that normal? I really don't know how to survive just with those Items, I thought you get at least a weapon when you spawn?

Okay thanks guys, this sure makes sense and the game gets a lot harder, but also more fun. You said I can distract zombies with cans and bottles? I remember that I found some in my first game but I couldn't do anything with them, do I need to press a special key or something?
