Anyone seen a tent?

Check the supermarkets! -
I'd like to have three or four other new players like myself group up so that we can all help each other out. It'd be nice if they had a microphone, and some kind of chat system- or we can use the in game "direct chat." If we work together, and work well together, we can most likely get all the supplies needed for solo survival. Reply if you're interested.

Alright! Message me your skype name and I'll hit you back! I've been playing for about a week, so I can help you with most of the basic stuff.

Any US Server; and I'm in Eastern time.

I attached a screenshot to this.

Whatever server you play on is good.

I'd be happy to lend a hand if you still need help.

Alright, so every time I spawn now, I get knocked unconscious for a long period of time. Why is this happening? Also, my friends been having some problems. Whenever he spawns all he sees is a barren terrain, and no buildings or forest, or anything. Anyone know what to do for either of these things?

As a new player... please tell me where to find a gun

Heres a couple helpful hints to survival, from noob to noob. 1. After a few days of playing this game, I realized VERY quickly that most of the small villages rarely yield anything worthwhile to brag about. This made me more inclined to search the bigger cities, like Chernogorsk and Elektrogorsk. However, this is something I would not recommend doing on a high-population server, or any server really if you're just starting, due to the fact that there's generally bandits in these cities. Bandits are other players whose soul purpose is to make your experience shit, and kill you on sight. So, with that in mind, Big cities are quite dangerous; and little settlements rarely have anything worthwhile to brag about, what do you do? Remember where you spawn; find an online map, and LOOK for useful landmarks that the map has. These landmarks can help you out a lot in finding gear. 2. Chernogorsk and Elektrogorsk; while big cities and heavy in great loot- are VERY dangerous cities. They have lots of Zombies, and lots of paranoid players who won't hesitate to kill you. However, that doesn't mean to avoid these cities completely. They can be great sources for loot, if you're quick enough to get in, get what you need, and get out. The Hospital; Firestation, And apartment buildings are three primary sources of what you'd need. The hospital holds all the medical supplies you could ever want- bandages, blood bags, epi-pens, morphine, etc. The firestation IS a spawnpoint for weapons, and it usually has a Lee Enfield in it, with five rounds laying next to it. Along with the Enfield, it generally has some other weapons that have spawned around it. The firestation also has some other miscellaneous spawns, like chemlights and sometimes canned food. The apartment buildings will generally spawn a handgun, like the makarov and have some mags lying around. They will also have canned food, lots of empty cans, and soda laying around as well. If you get lucky, you may find some useful tools like I have found, such as a box of matches, or a hatchet. Hope these helped. (note: THESE ARE OBSERVATIONS MADE FROM IN-GAME EXPERIENCE. NOT FACT) -
Whenever I try to run the game on any server from the six launcher, I get an error message saying "Bad Serial Given In Setup." Does anyone know what this means?
-
If you head to Cherno, it's got virtually everything you'd need to survive. Most of the apartments/buildings have soda and water canteens. Theres also a few grocery stores which have a lot of food and sometimes spawn guns. Theres a hospital in Cherno too that'll give you plenty of bandages, blood packs, morphine, and painkillers.

In the main menu of ARMA: OA go to options, then profile. You should be able to edit your profile name/make a new one with a new name of your choice.

Can you use Blood Bags on yourself? If so, how?
-
Well shit.

Uh.. I don't know if anyone else has the new update for the Six Launcher program. but I've been using it to launch my DayZ for awhile now.. and the new update for it is confusing, and I have no clue how to launch a server. If anyone knows, it'd be awesome if you could help.
-
Thats weird.. because mine is version "2.9.7 pre" I don't get it.
-
The program "Six Launcher" that I've been using for awhile now has a new update to it, which changed the whole layout of the program. I don't quite care for it, and I don't know if anyone else has gotten the update, but if you have- It'd be great to know how to launch a server.

A-fucking-Men brother. When I started; I got frustrated because of all the walking, and boring things I had to deal with. Now I know how to make the best out of my situation, and my spawns! It's a fun game, that you need to have patience to get into. -
Where to find people to group up with
ThatDayZNoob replied to Alec250f's topic in New Player Discussion
DON'T TRUST STRANGERS! I made this mistake and got killed. Group with real life friends! -
So- I've been playing for maybe two days.. got some of the basic controls down. But it would be GREAT To know how to like.. communicate with other people to get some in-game help. Also.. Zombies seem to like me a lot, and my lives usually end up with me being chased for about fifty minutes real time before I give up and let them kill me. Any tips/suggestions/People who have good noob servers?

Also.. Uh.. is there like a map anywhere? I always end up following a road for hours on end until I eventually get lost and loose all interest in finding my way back.
