Hmm, I wonder how much this playstyle of shoot everything simply stems from players not knowing better? I see nothing in side chat except for advice to shoot anybody you see because they're going to shoot you. Everywhere along the coast, as mentioned, is generally a warzone. Most people entering into the game because it sounded cool may not know any different. Simply an idle thought. -

The never-ending waves can be annoying, but I did prefer the larger groups that chewed through your ammo if you didn't play sneaky or carry a crossbow or something else quiet. -

The green farmhouse doorways and deer stands would be my two spots to add them. That and super markets. Super markets where you normally buy them, farming houses being the ones that bought them, deer stands where you often use them.

One point of those kits is that they are persistent. The goal is to eventually allow players to fortify things. Tank traps, fencing kits and sandbag/pits are currently what's up. With hatchets and wood we may see some more types in the form of fences or wooden barricades.

The idea is to make it very, very dangerous to do so. People will do so anyways, but this should reduce the effectiveness greatly. One thought to add to this, rather than a single ping a continuous sound for a few seconds will allow people to determine direction/distance as they look around. I don't think a single ping will be enough barring a warning that somebody nearby came in and maybe a general direction. The other issue is when the play the sound during the loading process, how long to play it and what happens if/when load times for getting in become very short/fast. -

The lowered counts already make entering a town and looting it almost risk-free. If you don't want hordes you need to not use loud guns. Firing off your guns should have consequences.

Queues and penalties for getting back into a server aren't the way to go. Yes, the trans-dimensional teleportation warfare can be annoying, but don't go so drastic right off the bat. Stick with the audio cues in here for now. An example of why knocking out players or putting long delays on relogging is a bad idea: (Hypothetical)I've got a base camp set up on NY1 and NY2 around a castle. Rather than keeping all of our eggs in one basket due to servers going down/being full we have stuff on a few different servers we enjoy. I'm restocking on ammo while I'm on NY2, but I've run out. I relog to NY1 and grab a few magazines after moving a couple feet to another tent. Then I log back to NY2 to meet up with the group and continue playing. With your proposed penalties I'd be knocked out or locked out for extended periods of time. With an audio cue you get warning of shenanigans and can take measures to prevent it. -
Couple times early on with 100 slot servers things went south quickly. I don't think we'll see huge servers for a bit until things are optimized much more.

I'm not thrilled with the idea of a hard coded penalty like that. This is meant as additional information for those paying attention so they can make informed decisions. -

A labeling system with the recognition system would work nicely. That does come back to what sort of interface, but given time we can hammer out something workable there. I definitely think the lighting/distance is a good modifier for recognition. One addition to the system would be to tie in the identification with a corpse. Same limitations for labeling above, but being able to study up close either alive/dead should probably have some benefits. -

UO runs good beta patch servers in the US. -
Not sure why this hasn't been stickied yet. But yes, tents seem worse off with the fix than before.

We've wanted at times to load the player's corpse up into the vehicle before driving off. You can put an unconscious person in, I don't see why you can't put a corpse in. -
We've got a guy that always lags behind, no matter the pack/weapon/blood. We've been unable to determine why, about the only things we can think of are latency or framerates.

Was a tossup between 1 and 2. A 4th option with "Alpha" below the logo without the "I survived" portion might be nice. -
Its nice to see another dev speaking their mind and building what they want. It may ruffle some feathers, but then again its nice to see you building what you want and envision. I fear the day when you find that difficult to do.
