25/male/pennsylvania Currently trying to get a job atm. Been playing dayz on and off for about 4-5 months Definately interested in working as a group for once, instead of only having 1 other person with me.

Its just a common bug, just make sure anything you drop is on completely flat ground and your not standing in a corner or something. If there is not enough room around you, the item could disappear. If the ground is not completely flat then your item could disappear as well. Try to use your backpack to store these weapons instead of putting them on the ground.

Im starting to think after more and more reading into this subject that tent saving is either completely bugged for certain people, or its completely bugged on certain servers. Or i am just really really unlucky. I definately fall into the same catagory as beltway. Theres no way anybody could have found any of my tents within that timespan. The server did indeed restart within the 2-3 hours of me placing the tent down tho. I dont think thats just a coincidence, i think the restarts are simply wiping my tents.

It is good to know that duplicate tents dont save any items at all. I found mine at the supermarket, so unless it was a duplicate that somebody dropped then im pretty sure it was the real deal. Ill farm a supermarket at moonlight later on and try to get one that im 100% sure is legit. It is entirely possible that one could have been a dupe that somebody else dropped so they could pick up more things(i only say that since i did indeed find it in cherno supermarket. I would think that is more likely to have happened then somebody coming across my tent in the middle of the night, in the middle of a forest while its just about perfectly placed in-between trees. Im not doing anything wrong when i place it down tho right? Do you guys simply wait till the next server reset to make sure tent dont disappear or lose its items? Is what i mean is, do you wait to put items in it till at least 2 server restarts to ensure it wont eat your items or disappear?

Thx, after a bit more reading it seems this is a pretty common problem, even to the point where it is indeed on the dayz wiki site atm when you look up tents. So if you get one to save do you just never touch the "save" button again? Once that tent is "saved" with your items inside and it survives a server restart with all your items still in it, does it stay saved from that point out? Or does it still have a chance to either eat your gear or vanish after every single server restart? Sry for all the questions, im just trying to get some info about tents before farming out hours of gear only to come back to an empty tent. This will pretty much determine if i ever bother with a tent until he gets around to fixing them in a future patch. Thx for the helpful posts guys.

Naw, i scouted deep into the woods on a diff server for a good spot. Then logged onto another server to actually place it. Its a pretty small server(30 ppl max). Theres no way anybody could have found it that quickly. It was nighttime and only 10 ppl were actually on the server when it was placed perfectly behind some trees. You would have literally had to hit the lottery to find it with only 10 ppl on the server and at night. All of the items are still gone. Im asking mainly because i notice tons of ppl having this same problem. So im just curious if you save it once?, twice? three times? Of if you only save it once when you place it and thats it sort of deal.

I did indeed "save" the tent. I logged back on and looked inside 2 hours later and everything vanished. Then i put a soda can into it once it was mysteriously empty and the thing completely vanished. I assume it will be back on next server restart if its as you say. Regardless, i came back to a competely empty tent almost everytime i tried to save one. So im just assuming the servers are eating my items from the tents and the tents as well.

Im just curious if anybody has, because i have yet to come back to a tent with it having anything in it after a server restart since v1.7.1.5. If anybody has got one to save for themselves can you please share how you did it?

Aight, so i put in a soda can instead. I logged on just before this post to look for my tent, and it was completely gone. Not only the soda can, the whole tent just vanished. I saved it at least 3 times before i logged off about 4 hours earlier. When i get another tent i suppose i might try laying it down and saving it only once rather then 3-4 times. Ill prolly put in something worthless ofc like a tin can or something. A bit more testing i suppose, ill prolly ask what ppl are doing to currently save tents as well atm.

I can confirm that this also brings all of your clips back to full ammo. It does indeed erase your stats at first, but logging out and back in brings the stats back.

I can confirm this is indeed happening, cleared out a full town of zombies with my AKM. I reloaded my gun with just 1 bullet from each clip remaining to check if this was a bug. Logged back on after and all clips were full to the top, so i dont think it has anything to do with the half capacity thing that Critical Nerd is talking about. It could be gun specific though, and i only tested it with the AKM.

Same deal here, had a fresh tent down with a bunch of mid tier weapons in it. We went the extra yard to find a perfect place to set a tent down. The server turned to nightime right before we logged out. So nobody but a hacker would have been able to navigate through the forest to find it when i logged in to check 2-3 hours later and it was pitch black. Im not joking about how sneaky we were either. We literally logged onto a diff server to find the spot. Then logged back onto our usual server to actually place it, so we knew we didnt have a tail. I know that sounds cheap on how we placed the tent but i had to make sure it was an actual bug since my last tent was wiped clean on a server restart. Im going to put in a tin can right now to see if its gone tomarrow, just to be 100% sure. The server only had like 10 ppl on it when we logged, and it was almost night as well. So im almost completely sure it was just a bug that wiped our stuff. Off to do some testing to be sure. I thought i should mention, the last thing i did before i logged off was use the "save tent" option.

Aight, since this has happened for at least the 4th time earlier today I figure i would make a post about this. I understand this is alpha. Thats fine and i expect my characters gear to get wiped constantly. The problem is that my characters are still getting wiped within the same version. This is mainly for me to figure out why this keeps happening over and over again. I can only assume it has to do with me accidently joining an outdated server or something and it just strips my character of all of his gear and puts me in the barren wilderness(not the forest or ocean). I just want to figure out what could possibly be causing this so i can avoid doing w/e it is. I have probably already read just about every thread on this issue so any answers to the below questions would be greatly apperciated. Now, im running version 1.60.94364 of the arma 2 beta. Im also running v1.7.1.5 of dayz. Im 100% sure these are the latest versions of the game atm. In the top right of my screen it says im running dayz with the beta/expansion or w/e for the game screen. I will randomly log on one day and be in the middle of the barren wasteland. Its always a server that is running v1.7.1.5 because i have my server filter set to only look up those servers. The biggest issue is the fact that it completely strips my character of all of his gear. It doesnt seem to take any ghillie suits tho. I have already tried joining canada 2 like a few people said and then logged off and tried to join a different server and it still puts me in the middle of the barren wasteland. What is constantly causing this? Is it me joining a server thats not running the latest version of the arma 2 beta(1.60.94364)? Why is my characters gear gone but not my ghillie suit? Why is this happening even though I am 100% sure my files are the latest version? Is there any way to get the gear that my character had back at all? I have read all the posts about this and nothing that was in them worked at all. I tried reinstalling, using different install methods, joining that canada 2 server and nothing. Just spawns me back into the barren wilderness again. 1. Steam 2. 1.60.94364 3. Im using Six launcher to update/launch the game. 4. Spawned in the barren wasteland with all of my gear stripped except for my ghillie suit. Ive tried just about everything already and have read tons of posts about it stating that the only solution seems to be having the most up to date version of the arma 2 beta and dayz... which i have. 5.
