I've done this twice. Once was with an ak with no ammo and the second i had to shoot them in the leg to get them to drop there FN FAL. You will have to watch for anti-robbers sending out a decoy with snipers watching.

You might have went on an unofficial server which isn't connected to the hive therefore doesn't have any progress nor can it save over your hive character.

Accidently shot my gun while clicking on the Arma 2 tab and killed someone who had NVG's a coyote backpack and most tools with a dmr with 10 mags and a fal in the backpack.

Agree with machoman; Was a frequent player on his server and even drove a pick-up for an hour out of the map and it was still gone less than 6 hours later when i logged in.. Counter-hacking should be the new priority for DayZ dev's.

After a pick-up that i stole got taken off me i searched around until i could find it; as soon as i see my truck i spotted a tent so i go loot it and bam! instant death from 11k blood. It will teach me to loot tents in the future. Anyone else have a epic facepalm story?

You can find it other locations such as hunting stands. I normally head for cherno or another hospital with an empty back-pack to raid hospitals for maximum loot.

Well if you know what your doing you can head straight for cherno. It's not hard to run and grab without being shot at or hit by a zombie.
