Haven't seen many movies where they take long shots, so I can't confirm it yet. Maybe I'll watch Jarhead or sumn and come back with the proof. :D

I seriously don't understand people who always defend this. They must be masochists or not use the guns at all. You can't hit anything past 50 meters even when you're standing still and not exhausted.

I don't know, I was on a hardcore experimental server, no one ever shot at me, I joined in a group of 3 and then recruited an unarmed talkative guy. Then we handcuffed and beat up some unresponsive people and lost a guy when he went missing. Everyone always ran after the guy who was leading. So we pretty much just sprinted around in different directions.

No, but stabbing and slashing should be different animations for knives. A stab wound should be way worse than a cut. Maybe it could have a slighty worse range.

Press numpad + twice and you're abusing FOV. People who "FOV abuse" are just wasting their time by not pressing + twice.

My first encounter ever in DayZ history was meeting an armed guy at Balota and me trying to shoot an empty makarov I just picked up in fright (Forgot to pick up the mags). The guy then looked at me for a few seconds and ran away. In DayZ standalone, found a guy looting a barrack, hid and then shot him when he came out.

Well, if you pick a server with 5 players and it has just restarted, 1 hour but if you play on a regular server then it takes 3. Finding a gun is very easy in places which haven't been touched because they only spawn in a few locations.

When making fires is added, you can probably use them as logs :D

PvE servers are misleading anyway. You will get killed on those servers for sure.

I have no mic (But not mute) and I have met friendly players about 10 times in 77 hours. And I usually shoot first or avoid people. The friendly player list doesn't include the people who killed me when I talked to them though. Best one was when I got myself a very talkative guy with a mic when we both had nothing. I went to the surrender position and talked to him. Then after leaving pavlovo we split up to loot another town, I had to go for a while and when I logged back in I met an armed guy who I also surrendered to and he walked right past me. But that's experimental for you, they probably trusted me because they don't have permanent characters. I even had a baseball bat in my backpack all that time.

You don't hear the gunshot if the guy is far away. The bullet reaches you before sound does. E: ↑exactly :D

This would be so much better. I hate when I want to move things around but I have to scroll and sometimes it wont let me scroll when I'm moving some item.

It's really hard to explain it to you, since you probably never played the mod, but military gear is part of the game. Instead of finding the 100th PU scope, you could find a (rare) grenade and it would feel great to have it in your inventory. It's basically like finding a gun in the SA, expect a little more satisfying.

I just play on 1st person because I use 1st person and don't want a guy peeking round a corner.
