I agree, sadly that's not always the case... I see more complaints than thank yous>.

One suggestion: Use your brain. How hard is to prone past zombies? All I can say is to you...Really? It's not rocket science... XD Edit: Sorry if I came across a bit mean and didn't help but I'm quite dumb founded how people are having issues with this, I can sneak into most towns without using my gun once... it's really not an issue.

why do people have difficulties starting w/o weapons

Starting without weapons gives the game so much more fun! I mean, this is what it's about survival. It doesn't really add that much difficulty to the game, I started yesterday, had no issues escaping zombies with and without a gun, I don't use my gun for zombies unless I'm really stuck.
